Some of the ringy dings of air cooled two strokes can also be from the barrel n head fins. Are all the rubber blocks in between the fins still there

I have always liked trials from the start of my interest in motorcycles in 1974/75, first bike I ever rode was a OSSA 250mar that a friend had. I couldn't afford any thing trials related back then, so it was just old Road bikes c50 etc. Then once I was old enough I rode on the road. Then the being of last year I wanted an old two stroke, but there fetching silly money for road bikes. So I thought get an old trials bike as they were still within my budget. Once I had one, I decided to try my hand at the sport before it got to late. I'm really loving getting out on the old Beamish Suzuki.

I only started trials last year at the ripe old age of 54, after riding bikes since I was 12. Never done any competitions though. So far I have done 3 trials (1 last September and 2 this year so far) and 6-7 practice days, I'm picking up very quickly if I do say so myself. I'm riding in classic twinshock trials on a Beamish Suzuki, Won my class in 2 of the 3 trials so far at clubman level, so may move up a level before to long if I keep progressing. I'm looking at doing about 20-25 trials this year and lots of practice days in between.

There is an old saying "win on Sunday sell on Monday " People like to have a bike that does well in competition and if you like a particular rider, your more than likely going to get one that looks the same as theirs. No its more than likely not going to make you better, but you still can dream lol

Or you could have left it stock and just enjoyed the bike.

As said Polls can be surprisingly accurate. I see more 35+ at my local trials

Nice surprise there, didn't think I was anywhere near winning my class, I thought at best 4-5th lol. So to win was great. After the last trial were I finished last, because of the lack of grip from the pirelli tyres the bike had on when I bought it. I changed them for a Michelin front and an Irc rear, couldn't believe how much better the Beamish was, easier to ride and lots more grip. same venue and conditions (only 2 weeks apart) so a good comparison.

I know, that does bug me that I haven't been videoing the trials. I'll try and film some once I get up to speed as it were

Surely you sand the area were the chalk has gone from and not we're it still is. If the chalk is still there then that part of the shoe isn't in contact with the hub

I'm new to trials, having only completed 3 trials so far. Really enjoying the classic twinshock trials and have a Beamish Suzuki 250. A late starter to riding trials , having ridden bikes most of my life

anyone know where to get the weather seal that goes on the backing plate. there for a beamish Suzuki, the originals have long since disappeared

what size is the tyre, I thought they only did 1 size 4.00x18 its the only 1 you can use in the uk if your riding in trials
