  1. Thanks to all at Sotobike for staging a world class event, I enjoyed it even though I did spend a week in a Madrid hospital and missed the actual trial! The atmosphere and whole spectacle of the event was present from the time we arrived in Robregordo on the Thursday. We are booked for next year already! Many thanks to Javier, Manolo and Kike who kept me almost constant company during my extended stay in the Capital and filled in for lack lack of espa
  2. Javier, your hospitality and welcome is second to none and those that have received it should be very grateful. Your dedication to Sotobike and selfless efforts to ensure that all foreign riders are looked after will definitely be a hard act to follow as Paul has said. I would particularly like to thank you for all the help and support you gave me even though I did not manage to get my bike out of the van, let alone compete! We will be back next year to support what is undoubtedly a world class twinshock event. Kind regards, Jim
  3. Hola Javier, I cannot contact you by PM here and I have sent you 2 e-mail already, we need more information for the IBAN money transfer, can ypu please respond. Hello Lee, Robregordo is the Village around 100KM from Madrid I believe. Hello Old Trials Fanatic - I have the entry form cranslated and my neightour is Spanish, I can help you fill it in but the first thing you have to do is transfer your entry fee and provide the date of the IBAN transfer on the online entry form. You can e-mail me at jim@beamishownersclub.com if you need help. Cheers, Jim
  4. I have a couple of bikes I would like to show at Malvern next year and I would quite like to do the autojumble too. I missed it this year as I was on holiday, I am about to book my holiday for next year and don't want to miss the show - does anyone know when it is being held yet? Cheers, Jim
  5. I have just had the rear wheel of my HT3 rebuilt to remove the 18" Borani rim and fit a 19" chrome rim with a brand new 19" Dunlop trials tyre. However, this bike is not for riding, it's more a piece of Trials history! It's clear there are defintely two camps here and I can see both sieds but if you do allow heavily modified bikes into Pre65 then you may as well drop it altogether - would it be fair to have the heavily modified bikes to compete against modern monos? It will rage on without resolution it seems. At least the regs for the Robregordo seem simple enough - air-cooled, 2 shock absorbers, no disc brakes.
  6. It also depends on your riding style, a slow action takes more twist to get you into trouble! I fit a slow action to the bike I let the kids use, I prefer one too for slow control but if you are needing quick response then it may not suit you. I tried a qick action on my Beamish but it needs two weeks written notice before it will do anything adventurous anyway!
  7. I hope to know about the new parts by the end of next month, I will certainly have chain guards by then - watch this space!
  8. Hi Woody, I am looking into it. The problem is the small production run and specific colour of the plastic makes the unit cost very high. Current estimates are about
  9. I need a front brake arm for my TLR250 (RS250TA actually) and my friend needs the front brake plate for his UK TLR250. Does anyone know if they are the same as the TLR200? There is a plate with arm on eBay US item no. 200168839274 which looks the part but it's a long way to get one from if it's not right! There is also one in the UK on eBay no. 200195186297 but I am not sure about the arm. Does anyone out there know if they are interchangeable? Jim
  10. Hello Lee, this is where I had my Beamish relinde and a lovely job it was too! Paul Vetere. PJ Motorcycle Engineers LTD 21 Rookery Street Wednesfeld Wolverhampton WV11 1UN Tel 01902 307457
  11. Thanks for you support Sherpatensing! Watch out on the site for new parts I am having manufactured..... chainguards first, engine sprocket guards are being investigated along with repro mudguards and oversize pistons for the RL325...
  12. I agree John, they are not a performance modification just an aid to longevity but I guess they weren't available Pre-65 so in the strictest sense of the word not kosha!
  13. I know that the Scottish Pre-65 is very strict on bike compliance (and rightly so in my view) but I don't want to start that debate all over again! Can anyone tell me if fitting an oil filter and an oil cooler breaches the machines regs?
  14. I am able to offer dating certificates for those of you who are interested in an age-related registration number. Until the end of March they are just
  15. Hi Honda TLR, I would consider having in powder coated if I were you. Apart from anything else, it's not a pretty frame to start with - sorry! As for anodizing, you can only do that to ally. Take a look at my website www.beamishownersclub.com where you will find details of a couple of platers who can handle a frame. I am having my Beamish done along with the swing arm, exhaust and ancilliary bits; it's coming out at
  16. Thanks Frenchie, that's worth a go, do you have the web address? Going through France isn't really an option. There are three of us, one can't drive at all and another can only drive an automatic - the van is manual. So it's not fair for one poor soul to drive all that way! Worst case is that a couple of us fly down just to spectate but it would be good to ride! Cheers, Jim
  17. The cost of getting a bike down ther is looking prohibitive (
  18. Thanks Greeves and big John, this is the first time I have ridden abroad so any help and information is gratefully received. We haven't even done the Scottish let alone the contintent! Cheers, Jim
  19. Can anyone tell me if we need an International ACU licence or will a UK one suffice?
  20. I know a guy in England who lost the bottom part of his leg above the knee and still rides and another who is legally blind - we build them tough over here and they both intend to travel to Spain to ride the Robregordo 2008!
  21. I intend to be there with 2 friends. Never been, have no real idea where it is, don't speak the language, have only one driver and no accomodation sorted, ACU licences hopefully in the post and not entered or even made contact as yet! Luckily my next door neighbour is Spainsh so I may be able to get some help! Hoping to get the ferry as far down as we can to spare the poor old Transit! Would love to take my Beamish but I can't operate the clutch due to arthritis so I will have to take my very trick Cub. Hope to meet up with some friends and Beamish owners down there and maybe sample some wine! I will win prettiest bike if they have such a class! See you there...
  22. I think you will find that Bill Pye still has some clutch baskets for the 240.... they are just expensive.. I guess if people are buying parts from Bill Pye or Bob Wright then they must know how to contact them - is it a secret or would someone like to share the contact information?
  23. Thanks for that Grib, don't suppose you have website details or pnone numbers for them do you? I have just bought a Fantic hybrid so I am sure I shall be needing some bits at some point.
  24. No, but there's a very nice Matchless on ebay at the moment just begging to be bought.... I went to
