  1. Sadly I am going to have to miss it this year as myback is playing up, I will be there in 2011 though! If you are going this year, it's time to book the ferry.
  2. For information - I was misinformed, the GasGas mounts do not fit the Beta Techno top yoke.
  3. I bought one about 6 years ago and it was my first modern bike. It served me really well, the fork seals are the easiest ones I've even changed! Did a few bits like linkages and water pump but you would get that on any bike. My old one is still gving good service in the club to a second new owler.
  4. Thanks Rich, that is really useful.
  5. If you look on www.honda-trials.com there are a lot of links to suppiers there.
  6. I had looked at the BJ Racing replacement springs and the Craig Malwem daper rod upgrade but by the time you have done all that it's nearly
  7. Thanks for the replies chaps. I am told that GasGas 05-10 mounts will fit. I have a 2006 GasGas with fatbars so I will check and see - let you know on this forum.
  8. Will it be as much of a challenge getting from section to section?! A great event that we are really looking forward to. It gets better every year and your efforts and greatly appreciated.
  9. Paul, what are you like! I thought that's waht proper P65 was about - keeping it real! If you want fiddle itis and trick that, why not have a GasGas and be done with it? Before 1965 the bikes weren't horrible to ride bucaue no-one had any comparison, the trouble is courses these days are laid out with modern bikes in mind, isn't that eally the problem along with people seeking a modern technology advantage? Sorry - devil's advocate - age old aguement!
  10. The engine for the silver engine Beamish came from the 1974 or 1975 Suzuki Exacta RL250L or M model, no con rod modifications whatsoever. Crooks Suzuki will almost certainly have one and if not Steve Driscoll should as I sold him one a few months ago. http://www.beamishownersclub.com/_sgg/m9m3_1.htm
  11. Thanks Stork, I will take a look. They are M8 and 39mm apart.
  12. I notice that the Robregordo Trial is not on the events calendar at the moment....!
  13. Does anyone know who makes fatbar clamps for the Techno / Paoli fork yokes like these?
  14. I'd be happy to maintain it to promote the sport, I run three others.
  15. Is there still a website Jordi? I author the one for Worthing.
  16. Thanks all, that should get me sorted. Not sure of the Robregordo mount yet Woody, I have a Bultaco Special that is doing the Exmoor with an expert riding it at Easter - that would go down well in Spain but I had hoped to take my Cub and do the Pre72, I have to rebuild the engine first just to stop it leaking gallons of oil everywhere! If all else fails I will take the TY175 again of course, it gave a good account of itself last year and was the only one there I think.
  17. We are really looking forward to this year - going to finish this time, we are already in training! I may have some space in the van if anyone want to take the plane or needs a bike transported, send me an e-mail.
  18. How about solo trials Jordi, anyone left there? Any events hosted?
  19. I have a pair of tired TY250 T/S forks that could really use new springs, any idea where these can be bought? Also there has been talk on here and on the net of damper rod modifications - does anyone know what mods are done and maybe who does them? I know it would be better to chuck the forks in favour of a pair of Parzocchis or Paolis but I want to keep them looking original, even if they are on my TY175! Any help would be most welcome.
  20. Hi Ben, Glad you found the site useful. The only way to be absolutely certain it's not a RL250N (which is a 1979 bike with a steel tank) is to measure the bore (70mm = 250cc, 80mm = 325cc). Of course if it pulls your arms off when you open the throttle, it's probably a 325!
  21. Hi all, I am just building up an iron barrel B40 from a box and need to get my paws on a first oversize piston kit - any ideas where from ro what alternative people use? As it's for trials, should it be a low compression piston? Your help much appreciated!
  22. Hello Ben, there is no difference between the RL250 tankd and the RL325 tank, the differences were between the years. In 1981 both models had the same tank. In 1978 when the RL325 first hit the scene it had a steel tank. In 1979 when the RL250N was launched, it also had a steel tank whereas the RL325 had the alloy tank. from late 1979 tanks for both models remained the same until the end of production, the only different tank available was the Scottish Six Day tank. If you send me photos of your dad's tank to jim@beamishownersclub.com I will tell you if it is the right tank or just the wrong paint job / decals. Cheers,
  23. Hola Sotobike Motoclub, Any more news on the changes for this year? The dates 22 and 23 de Mayo are perfect for us. Here in England we have a bank holiday on the 31st and there are a lot of trials that we missed last year because we were in Robregordo. John and I will be there and hoping to bring some new friends. I am preparing my bike already!
  24. The primary purpose of the decompressor is to aid starting and reduce shock stress on the kickstat mechanism. If you have owned a 348 or 349 where some genius has removed the decompressor and added another plug, you will may have been snapping kickstart shafts thinking it was a weakness of the bike whereas if fact it's a weakenss only if you remove teh decompressor. Honda TLR's suffer the same way but snap kickstart levers if the auto-decompression mechanism is removed.
  25. Before you go to the trouble and expense of putting a Bultaco wheel and swing arm in the back end of your Pre65 bike, I would sheck the rules of where you intend to ride it unless you intend to fide it as a twinshock rather than a classic Pre65.
