Nice one Big John, thats interesting because a friend of mine who was in the Military and is now a manager of a shopping centre in Colchester Essex said that he had observed a bright light in the sky that was stationary then shot off at speed that would not normally be associated with every day aircraft

TooFastTim,yes thats it. do you think that somehow for some reason thats how we see the things that we cant explain?
  5. andy.t replied to andy.t's topic in Anything goes
Anyone out there an expert on quantum physics and einstein's theory of relativity,it could perhaps explain UFO,s and Dabster.

Back in 81/82 not sure if I did see a UFO,it was just a bright light in the sky that I thought was a star a first but as I was observing it two smaller lights slowly drifted down and away from the main light one to the left and one to the right in an arc form, wondering what it was as I looked at the three objects the two smaller lights then rejoined the main light and remained there as one.I went in to tell the wife who wasnt interested but when I eventually went back out to recheck it was gone.I dont live far from what happend HERE
  8. jon v8,probably just me being a bit thick with regards to the throttle slide. With regards to the pistons although I did try to get an original for my bike I did have thoughts on whether the new modern pistons should infact be better than say the originals, you would think they should be with modern manufacturing process.I think alot has to be said for the guy who does the rebore. Regards Andy.T
  9. Very nice story, you often hear about things like this but I dont believe it,or am I just being stupid and was never supposed to believe it.
  10. jon v8,glad you found a fault, would the shot mains cause what you mentioned(When the engine carries on revving you can close the throttle completely then when you start to open it again you can feel it pulling the slide open right from the bottom. This leads me to think it must be pulling in air elsewhere)The slide getting pulled open bit,i thought the shot mains just let air or oil in,or both, just curious how this cause the slide to lift, anyone know?. With regards to the piston I fitted a MATIKA piston on my 175 as there were no originals available, you may not have much choice. Regards Andy.T
  11. I didn't think to use my old nickname as a log in,its SLOTS,if you can guess why then you win a prize.
  12. jon v8,that sounds strange, could it be one of the air passage ways blocked in the carb and causing a venturi action like on the old SU carbs.
  13. andy.t replied to 2shock's topic in General Trials Talk
2shock,I had the same problem with my TY175 and found it was the HT coil breaking down when it got hot, picked up a new one from Trail & Trials UK for
  14. The Addict,if your on/off is not as good as you thought, then you could buy a remote control which comes a plug in receiver, they are sold in Maplins and I think Argos and are claimed to operate through doors.

Hi,as per Haynes manual, drain fork oil, remove dust cover, and on late models only withdraw the circlip and plain washer from the top of the lower leg, above the oil seal.clamp the lower leg, push the stanchion in and withdraw it sharply, like a slide hammer action. On early models identified by a chrome plated seal holder at the top of each leg, unscrew the seal holder, then remove the stanchion as above. ps. I have missed some bits out but thought you would get the idea.never done it on ty80,so if you need more info I will consult the manaul.
