  1. If you cant get an adrenaline rush from riding your trials bike, you arent riding big enough stuff.
  2. Biff: Here in Canada the van is labelled a Transit Connect, If you send me your email I will send you some pics. I built a small bike wheel chalk that bolts into the frame after I removed the two tie down hooks that come standard. It easily holds 3 bikes, one on each side pointed forward, and the third in backwards. It rides and pulls remarkably well with three bikes in it! Tested in June as we drove the Sea to Sky Hwy to Squamish attending a trial there. Steve
  3. I am not a Mon expert but I believe the FI requires a certain idle setting to be able to generate enough power to work properly and cannot be messed with

That makes sense as it looked like as soon as he dropped off the rock heading downhill, fuel was spilt.

I just saw it on Instagram! looked scary....love to know what happened but almost looked like some fuel spilt and ingnited with something. I heard conditions were very hot so I am sure that did not help

I was certain of this as well
  7. We had one of our prominent riders on the island have his GG stolen out of a well protected garage. I asked about theft insurance, I believe I was told over $200/year. Someone commented that was pretty steep.....not when you consider how much a new bike is I guess. Steve
  8. I am not certain, but not sure that's not what he is talking about. WE are required in BC now to have all off road bikes registered with the government to ride on non private land. You may also insure your trials bike at the same time for a nominal fee which includes theft. But good chance to promote a non entity again on your part. FYI, the insurance you speak of does not even list WTC, because I guess its not a registered society and instead promotes "free" insurance to trials riders, while it uses the Enduro associations insurance. Paid for by Enduro riders who may or may not know they subsidize it, Round and round you go. It gets tiresome. You have a great new group and do a good job of promoting trials in a relative new area for it. Why not focus on that?
  9. you will be very pleased
  10. I have a brand new Transit Connect turbo here accross the pond, and its brilliant. I can easily fit 3 bikes in mine and all the gear etc.
  11. Super Stars is a very unique event, and thus the name since its inception. In fact they used to by much much harder when I first started riding them. At one point we rode 20 sections and 2 or 3 loops. We would start at 830 in the am. The format changed when the event became part of the PNTA regiional series, and the cross check system is used. So now the day is much shorter, with the time limit traditionally very tight. Ioco is one of the best places to ride in NA. I think the loop used for this event is usually the most difficult you can ride, including comparing the the TTC. I did get a chance to speak to my son last night a bit more about the Tillamook National. He said the loop was pretty long, but all the trails were incredibly groomed, as Tillamook is an ORV park and regular trail maintenance is done. He said there was one steep downhill that was cut in, but other than that is was no big deal. I have ridden there many times and its a great area, perhaps just so different than anywhere else Nationals are frequently held. Steve

Yes he is, and last year he was on GG. Very similar bikes, except for the aluminum frame.

    In my opinion yes!
  14. The RYP guys got a double dose of it then, cuz I am sure the loop for our SuperStars trial was alot harder, perhaps not the length of Tillamook but harder. My son texted tonight and said the loop in Tillamook was awesome, he loved it!!
  15. Sounds good Ish! was hoping to make it but too much going on. Glad Matt at least got down to help Alex. He reckons it was alot like Victoria when its wet......his comfort zone!

My son just got his TRS, about 4 days before our biggest two day trial of the year. He hasnt ridden in 6 months since he was waiting for the bike to come. He basicaly had just enough time to break it in before the trial. It was totally stock and we had not had time to do anything to it. It ran perfectly with the Dellorto carb. I reckon that the bike is perfect for 90 percent of the people with the Dellorto. Powerful, smooth and grips like crazy. He rides the top class here, and the bike ran perfect. Note, I did get to ride both my sons bike, and the other one that came it with it, that has been fittled with a Kehein carb. The Kehein transforms the bike into a rocketship, very powerful, maybe just an adjustment some top level guys will want. We will be putting one on my sons bike. Build quality is very very good. I havent found anything yet that I can critisize. It does ride similar to a GG, but different.....I believe its the aluminum frame that makes it feel so stable, but extremely light.
  17. I didnt know you still had a TS bike and rode the National Ish?? ha ha~ Sounds like there should be more Nationals in the PNW!!
  18. Silly = typical PNW loop trail. . The event the weekend before up in Canada, known as the Superstars, is famous for amazing sections, tight time limit, and, killer loop trail.
  19. I have asked Derek Thomas, who is the clerk of the course for the Trial, to post some more information here. You can DM me I could also send you his email address. Thanks
  20. Welcome! I would follow Fanticisti's advice, he is also in Ontario although not your region. He is a fantastic source for all trials info and part of the ATA club in Ontarion. For accurate info you can always post on this site, but I would avoid TrialsCanada and I know there were a few other riders in Thunder Bay. If you message me, I may be able to put you in touch. Cheers and have fun
  21. We all probably would love to see Dougie have that 100th too, but in true form, a hard fought win, not handed to him!
  22. its a fanstastic achievement, and now doubt Dougie had Mart in his thoughts the entire time!! I really believe that the SSDT is an event that is totally catering to all of the skills both physically and mentally, that made Dougie the rider he is. Put age aside, there perhaps has never been a rider in history with his determination and ability to deal with adversity. Congrats Doug!
  23. Totally agree with the last sentence, and was my point too
  24. Whats happened to Casales?? he has dropped significantly.
