  1. I was just enjoying the videos......
  2. Dan: It sure is interesting and one of the things that makes trials and trial bike manufacturers unique. The differences in opinions about bikes and how they feel to that rider. The first ride I had on a Vertigo it was really soft and powerless, the second time I tried it, I liked it a lot more. Only thing I found odd was the amount of engine braking it had for a 2t. So setup is so important and can sure change the feel a rider has. The TRS I agree has a nice clutch and the gearbox very nice, gear ratios spot on for a 5 speed. Much different than how a Sherco is. I noticed the chassis a lot on the TRS too. My son also concurs after spending an entire day riding the TRS hard. That's why the best suggestion to anyone buying a new bike, is to try all of them. Find the one that fits them the best.
  3. FYI- I was having fun and poking others who haven't ridden the event. I rode and finished 110th in 1992. I was sitting around 60th most of the week until I somehow missed two sections and was given a 100pt penalty. Would love to do it again with my son.
  4. Yay! afer all these years riding, its confirmed then! woo hoo! So people who simply wax poetic about the trial and spectate numerous times are just posers?
  5. I was wondering about Ferrer too? is he injured? a massive drop in the results for him from last year.
  6. I also know that the Commo"s used to have a pic of Charles Bronson standing beside a Mont 242 he purchased from them
  7. Now that the official press release is out, I can tell you that I have already had a lengthy discussion with Brad Baumert. It is very motivating to know that we are exactly on the same page! We have already agreed what our short term and long term goals are going forward, and we now just have to get to work. There will be some really exciting things to announce as we check these items off our list. Its a positive step towards a bright future for the sport in North America. I am excited for trials riders in both countries as some of the things coming up will be firsts that we have never had the chance to do, but now that we have this working relationship, will be possible. We look forward to feedback and your support! Steve Fracy
  8. Here it is! Thanks Michael FIM NA Press Release - Trials Announcement.pdf
  9. I have the official press release to share, if someone can email me and I will send it to you so you can post here. Obviously I am better at riding, and organizing than using the computer :-)
  10. This year our Provincial series is 4 events spread across BC in some of the best riding areas in the country. It gives good value now having 4 events, plus the Natoinal in Sask for everyone buying their competition licence. We will also being doing more things in the future to bring value to riders holding a licence but they are only in the planning stage at this point.
  11. It is Not my place to answer questions about how the National sanctioning body operates. That is irresponsible if I do not know the answer therefore always correct to ask Head Office. My total focus and responsibility is the sport. You have been told by myself previously how things work in my Province. The two largest clubs here obtain their own insurance to cover all events they run. The model we are using right now, in doing our part to support trials and the CMA in Canada, is by holding Provincial championships. We are designating certain club events as Provincial Rounds. We obtain a sanction for those events which is very cheap, and the clubs keep up their CMA affiliation each year too, also very cheap. Riders who wish to contend the Championship need to purchase yearly competition licences. As you have found out, and anyone knows, it costs money to do business. I believe our sport is worth it, and if everyone does a little bit to help out, it will go a long way. I am however shocked that you thought the CMA was for profit. Any registered club or association is required to reveal that.
  12. You can email me anytime. I believe I have answered you questions several times. teamfracy@shaw.ca
  13. I had never seen that before......it gave me goosebumps for so many reasons! Mainly, as a trials riding father who is as proud of his trials riding son, as Mart was of Dougie. and sad of the loss for Dougie, his mother and brother, and the entire family!
  14. Fair enough. I do not think I have ever insulted you, but I am certain that all the of the information that you spread or are told by the so called "members" of the WTC, (no members,, not a registered entity) are extremely incorrect, and destructive. If for you its about free insurance, then I truly don't believe you are interested in the future of the sport. I do hope that in time as you gain more experience, you will better understand the scope, and the magnitude of what the TAC is doing and has been tasked to do. Its a huge undertaking, but one that needs to be done.Again and again I have said, our country has only ONE National sanctioning body for trials. Its in the best interest of the sport that we all work together to build a strong National body, as strong sport, and give our top riders the opportunity and the means to compete at a level they choose to, while at the same time help build strong clubs and provide the proper training for young riders.FYI I have always shared any information that I have with you, but unfortunately in feel you have been conditioned not to believe me due to the mis-information constantly circulated by a couple people.
  15. You seem to question my record and whether or not I welcome people to the sport. I will let my history in both US and Canada stand. Unfortunately it seems like you have been horribly mis-informed. Any attempt make to help with that, you just plain don't believe it. I do not speak for the CMA and only an official of the CMA may do so to a club or individual. That would be very correct. I have emailed you, called you, offered to take you out riding while on Vancouver Island, and yet still you make statements like you have. I am not sure why, but again I would take a guess you have been given incorrect information from people who claim they know.
  16. Micheal: I am curious about a few things that may help me explain how you have based some of your opinions. Have you yet had the chance to ride a trial other than the ones you have put on in the Maritimes? Have you had the chance to ride Canadian National. Have you had the chance to ride any US Nationals? What other proviinces other than NS have you ridden in? All questions about the CMA and fees can be answered on the CMA website, or by contacting the head office. As head of the TAC I am in charge of rebuilding the sport in Canada, along with all the other fine trials people with vast experience in Canada and abroad. I have been involved riding and organizing trials in Canada and the US for over three decades. | am well aware of the history of the NATC. We work with them and the AMA. Also accredited organizations working under the FIM banner.
  17. You said you have sponsored riders. I guess your idea of sponsored is different. No matter what sport you are engaged in, the notion of a non- sanctioned, non-registered , self proclaimed entity should merge with the FIM affiliated National sanctioning body for trials in Canada is absurd. So. again this also makes the WTC look like a farce. It has NO goals, NO validity within the sport outside what it self proclaims. Again and again I keep hearing the same redoric. If you truly want to help the sport and believe in its future in Canada, you should try putting your effort into something, and people who share that passion, and have the experience and history that you do not as of yet, all under OUR only National sanctioning body, who like all other countries in the world involved with the sport, work under the FIM.
  18. "National Championship" is a farce. It is also viewed so by anyone outside of Canada. You seem to not have a real idea of what it actually is and claims to be. I wont be wasting any energy on that, these are facts. I am unsure why you want to continue with the us versus them attitude. All of these co called events out here already exist and run by established clubs, except the one that Mr. Rhodes puts on ( and doesn't do the work anymore, others do it) and have taken place for years without any tagging of WTC to it. We have a National championship. It seems pointless to keep giving you information when you aren't understanding the entire scope of the sport here. Glad to hear you have riders getting free bikes though. Well done to you.
  19. Deepest condolences to the entire Lampkin family.Very sad news
  20. Clubs who put on CMA events charge entry fees like all clubs. So I am not sure what you are talking about.Who is the WE you refer to that I dis-agree with? I was referring to two people who call themselves a National sanctioning body. There isn't anyone in the world wide sporting family that recognizes them or even knows who they are, that is laughable. Harmful in my opinion to a small sport in a huge country. There is a lot more at stake here in Canada than you may be aware of. Its also interesting any comment you make to me, that anything I do doesn't encourage growth in the sport.
  21. Nobody out there dis- agrees with what YOU are doing. Starting a club, riding trials, promoting the sport. Whats wrong with that? I take offense with this whole us vs them mentality. Who is the WE you are referring to??? What I referred to as laughable, was one or two people, who believe they are a National body ( self appointed as brought up by you). There is no one else in the sporting family of Trials, outside of this group, who would recognize it in any form. In fact they don't know it exists. There is far more to the sport in Canada and a lot at stake than perhaps you are aware of, so I would appreciate you attempting to tell me that anything I do doesn't encourage growth in the sport.
  22. Some of your information that you have described is not accurate. It costs $75 annually to have a full competition license and belong to the CMA. You can also join and support your given sport by purchasing an enthusiast membership for $30. The CMA does NOT dictate or collect entry fees for trials anyway. Any club that puts an event on using a CMA sanction, charges what they want as any club does. I find it interesting to read anything about "another National organization". We have one of the "officials" of this so called other National organization out West here. A decision was made by two clubs whom he had approached to use their existing events as part of his so called series. He is a private promoter and is not active in a trials club in his local area. The clubs asked him to produce an insurance policy in order to cover their behinds and in one instance was required to see it to review. He views this as the clubs wanting their already existing event, to be "sanctioned" by them. This so called "free" insurance is not even in the name of the so called National organization. WEC, which is an organization base in Ontario (World Enduro Canada) provided the insurance certificate. This is funded and paid for by the Enduro riders who compete in their events. WTC, is not an actual organization. It is a website, and is controlled by two individuals. This offer of "free" insurance was offered as a gimmick to try and sway support away from the CMA and, it was told by the WEC that they would soon be the FIM affiliate for Canada. I am not sure where you get your information from, but I can guess, as ALL of the information I was given about the CMA, from the WEC was absolutely incorrect. I find it very detrimental to the sport in Canada to engage in any of this irresponsible behaviour. Perhaps if you actually got your information from the correct source, your opinion would be different. FYI, I can tell you that the actual existence of another "National organization for trials" outside of who is feeding you with info, is viewed as laughable. We are trying to bring everyone together to work on changing the entire culture of how we do things with the sport in Canada. I am sorry for you that you have such a clouded and jaded view. PS. as far as trials go with the CMA, they are not hurting or in trouble. There has never been so many positive things happening in many decades. if you take the time to understand the scope of what is happening, you will understand. Your opinion, and the facts are very different
  23. I apologize guys....it seems that the AMA side has yet to get all the info in to put official press release finalized. I will try to expand a bit more and let you know some of the positives of what is going on. This is an agreement that will work under the FIM. It is a collective group of Americans and Canadians that will work together in a new way to better the sport as a whole in North America. It will be scheduling special events in both countries each year. It WILL be bringing World Rounds back to Canada, which is long over due. The cross border events is very exciting, and I don't want to give too much away here, but I am extremely happy about this part. It will benefit both parties, and for sure help the sport grow.
