  1. As this thread started off as a self admitted Texas joke in a way, it just goes to show you the thought processes of some! Terrorism has indeed changed state, into a global proposition. TFT did put things in a way that is more real at this time. And not to discount internal strife, such as the IRA, but I do believe there is more external strife than ever before. Yes , there are many who would want to destroy your way of life. Get a grip, folks! I am no poly-sci major, and I figure'd someone would have given Ireland back to the Irish by now, since the Beatles request! We have enough Cubans trying to make the swim accross as it is! No less the Mexicans by the millions! All want free!dom! Never totally being able to get my head around the British Empire thing, we still got islands and stuff floating around that seem to require constant support? It all just boggles the mind! I do think America is tireing! Just how long is one country due to provide the major deterrance for the aggression of others whilst gaining little to no respect and large criticism? After a while, you just kinda want to say sc--- them! They don't appreciate anything anyway! Lets toutch on the Afgan poppy farmers! Or the entire f--c-ed up country! Worthless s---! Then you got the Pakis playing both sides with Nukes!, all the while holding the Bin Ladin bunch! And the others! No secrets here! F--- them! This is what we get for standing down! Bunch of crap! They will eventually f--k up your world! One way or another!
  2. I think many may back off the dampening screws most all the way, then in a couple clicks!
  3. That thing looks wiked!
  4. Apperently they go out on them too!
  5. Funny thing is, I have not either! But for some funny reason I have not been able to wash the images of eight years and one day ago out of my feeble mind! It was a pretty bad day, maybe if it happened to you, you might then be able to have a greater appreciation! Perhaps even a desk job in the Pentegon, pay is good i here, and they don't ask your race, religion or political views do they, really! Maybe others just need more first hand experience to gain a greater appreiation as to the meaning of the word! Or maybe just stay in Canada, not much happens there! Maybe you are safe! Surely there are no radicals there! dummer, dummer , dummer, la da dee!
  6. Ahhh, all good there! Happens to a lot of folks that are active in the sport! Same sort of thing happens after a new rider takes some proper tuition and gains some insight upon the basics of manuvering the bike! Keep low! Inside arm straight! Move your butt to offset! Steady, More throttle!---- list goes on! Good set of basics will take one a long way, and when one watches a new rider, or even a silly mistake of a more advanced rider, sometimes you just want to shout out! Oh well, sometimes you can give gentile advise within ones range of ability and it helps, other times not! A new rider can go into mental overload easily, and so it goes! Nothing much happens here without the experience! But advise is often appreciated as well, gives one things to work upon! In the words of my old flight instructor," There are Old pilots and Bold pilots, yet few Old Bold pilots! Keep it safe and fun!
  7. Now, That's what we need!
  8. Everyday something happens to make me happy and proud to be a Texan! We are a plain folk... but we have a way of talking net! One thing about Texans is that their hearts are always in the right place! T . B . Bechtel, a part-time City Councilman from Midland , TX , was asked on a local live radio talk show just what he thought of the allegations of torture of terrorists. His reply prompted his ejection from the studio, but to thunderous applause from the audience . HIS STATEMENT: 'If hooking up a terrorist's nuts to a car's battery cables will save just one soldier's life, then I have just three things to say,' 'Red is positive, Black is negative, and Make sure his nuts are wet.' ------
  9. Doubt there would be an issue with those pump thingies, as they have been around for years. Will any of this crap improve the ability of the average fellow? As the bikes become even more specialized over time, does any of this make them easier to ride well?

    Going Black!

I shall deny any claims, as the black plastic does not seem to whiten when bent or bitten! Quite good actually, teeth marks do not show! Thinking about a black tank graphic with a blue insert, not really wanting to repaint the tank, just leave it silver on the edges. Asimple strip down the middle of the mudguard in black, with the Sherco name outlined in silver, same as the frame except a bit larger. Keep it simple!

    Going Black!

NO! Actually it takes some doing! They are quite different! The Decals are a potential issue, dependant upon just how far one intends to go. For now, it makes a good practice mudguard, basic and functional. Still looking at options on the graphics. If one takes time to notice, if one does NOT dribble fuel all over your tank insert sticker(or clean it quickly), they will last!
  12. Sounds as though a good cleaning would be a start! As per the original question, these things do not really seem to vary much on jetting between a 125,250 or a 2.9., or even a Gasser. They just apply fuel for a given amount of air. Revving out cleanly on a 125 can be more critical, as they operate more at those rpm's, therfore the main jet would be more critical.
  13. Poor Saffer stuck in hell! My heart bleeds!!!!!!!
  14. This is what, an '07 bike with the sealed bearings installed? I would be very cautious about the reaction to the seals on the bearings when subjected to this type of solvents. "Better to play safe and let it be." Also would leave all residues laying in the bottom, unless you flipped the bike for a douche!! Carefull with all that!

    Going Black!

Just a quick note on the fuel tank expansion thing, when I first got this bike, I was worried about the Deep notch that was wearing into the tank due to contact with the upper support, so I did bevel the sharp edge on it. Nearly three years later, it is a non issue, as the tank has grown 6-8mm to totally avoid contact at that point, now just tight in the rear! Alcohol induced fuel? Just the way it is? The tanks are supposedly Nylon.

    Going Black!

First one i ever had that was basically straight! Now if I can get rid of the Yellow thing! Never liked the Power Ranger graphics ! Something else has to go!

    Going Black!

Well, after some wait, the Stealth mode may indeed be going forward! To be honest, I always liked Sherco's in blue! Not really happening nowdays, and I would not give a toss for a white one, just cannot fathom! So, I will throw my little experiment out for all to see! The bike is getting more black! Guess how?
  18. That type of "coking"of the oil residue does suggest entry of the gearbox oil, as compared to the cleaner pre-mix oils. I cannot recall what you are running in it, yet modern synthetics or even simi- synthetics do not leave that type residue. If the drive side crank seal was leaking(suspected) then it could suck in air or oil. Meeting your wierd running problems. Doubt the volume in vs. volume out has been checked. May well tell! Coolant monotoring? My fan cycles, so I know there is coolant in there! As they will not without! Funny the new ring spec on the 250 came in at .020 as Ryan suggested. He probably has not checked one since he was on a 250! Cleaning it up, well that is another issue. Personally, I would likely use a bit of solvent such as gasoline or stoddard solvent(oil based paint thinner), hit the bore along the same hone lines as factory with some scotchbrite, not too much, I think the paint will resist the gas, maybe not too much so use care, then a good hot soapy water rinse to remove any abrasive. Carby cleaner should clean up the piston, if it is in spec, did it rattle much? Admittedly, we just are fixing a problem here, and not overhauling it, there is a difference!
  19. Looks like it has been burning something other than pre-mix!
  20. Seems Whitney is in a comeback! New release after years of layoff! Roumours of drug abuse and other problems typical of many, Pity! After 15 or so years, seemed the voice was not quite the same when I viewed her live on the new release, was kind of an off song so cannot judge, yet I do not think the old spark was quite there. Although she did look well and apparently has a number of new songs. Youth has its virtue, even for a near goddess We shall see! Still has more than many!
  21. Yea, it is just a thermo switch, not a sensor, and not threaded in, just held with a retainer and seal. I just do not know ov anything else that fits it, although it may be produced by Leonelli, some liquid cooled scooters may use something similar. Once again, life is too short!
  22. I just cannot understand how anyone rides those things in the tight single track stuff! A trials bike will spoil you! Two thoughts, firstly, reguardless of full facial protection, good eye protection is recommended on the trail. And, a good high capacity Camelback is good spine protection! Plus!
  23. Sounds about right to me, JJH needle? Some others have their prefs for the bigger bikes, but the 125 seems less sensitive. Now all you have to do is somehow figure out just how to cram the thing in there. I do not care for the fit against the cases. And I shall restate"If Paxau had liked them, there would already be one on it!". Play with it if you like, yet I suspect you may go back!
