I have the modified spring on my sons 03 125.Its very good,i would recomend you try one.
-
Thanks for the replies.I`l do the checks.Hopefully i`l sort it this time.Cheers

How far do you want to travel?
-
Hi all,i`ve posted about this problem before, but didnt get very far trying to solve it,so i`m posting it again, maybe this time somebody might be able to help.
The fan on my 04 290 only seems to come on when i rev the engine. If i keep it reving the fan stays on.Soon as i let it return to idle, the fan stops. It wont come on at all if the engine is left at idle.(boiled over a couple of times today).
What could be the problem??.My first thoughts are either the water pump(because i have to rev the engine to circulate the coolant faster to trigger the thermo),or could it be the thermo itself?,or somthing more sinister?
I could probably fix this by a process of elimination, but that can be expensive.Any help would be much appreciated
Cheers

If it will start after say an hour,it could be the stator. If it wont run at all, could be an electrical fault somewhere. You need to find out if the stator is ok.I dont know how this is done other than trying to start the bike later as mentioned above.
-
My sons GG125 does it,revs right up then settes down.Have you tried leaving it or does it rev its absolute bo****ks off?
-
Hi all,my kickstart on my 04 sherco is bent slightly, and its getting a pain to start because my boot keeps slipping off.Whats the best way to straighten it,can you use heat on alluminium?,I`m not sure. Can any body help?
Cheers

I agree with zippy,Maybe when you begin to move yourself foward, you should compress the rear suspension, that way you might be able to launch yourself and the bike higher. .
What you are doing looks good though
-
I agree,my son has an 03 which is in top condition, its fairly flat on low revs but when you give it a hand full its mean!
-
Thanks copmech. But there doesnt seem to be a rectifier according to the parts book. There is a regulator or a diode(which in spanish tranlates as rectificador).Could this be it??
Thanks

WD 40 for sure.It lubricates, keeps chain from rusting, and your chain doesnt pick up all the crud which it would with certain chain lubricants
-
There was defintely nothing there,i could spin it freely. That is the first thing i looked for.

-
Yes,sorry, the fan went back to working normally and was ok the rest of the day
-
Hey jon, thanks for the link.My 03 125 pro has 38mm forks.i was thinking of getting some from ,here, but the info is a bit confusing. What do you think?
-
Thats just the job,Thanks
-
Hi,does anybody know of any info available which i can look at which will help me change the fork seals in my sons 03 125 pro??,or has anyone done it and could tell me??
Cheers.

Hi,whilst on my o4 290 yesterday, the bike suddenly boiled over.I had a quick look at the fan which wasnt running, but it started up when i reved the engine, but as the revs dropped to tick-over,the fan stopped. This continued for a few minutes, then the fan stayed on irrespective of the revs then went off when engine had cooled as normal, and i had no further problems. The bike was running as normal.
Is this a sign of something about to go wrong?,any help woud be much appreciated
-
You need to check the seals on the piston at the lever,if this doesnt improve things, check the o rings at the clutch end.sounds like you`ve done this so the piston seals could be the problem.
-
Hi,as said above, the clutch thing is normal. My bike does it,its also fairly hard to start when warm.I changed the plug for an iridium type. Its definatly improved the starting. If it wont go after about 5 kicks,i usually give it a bit of choke, then it usually starts.I`ve just got used to it now.
The fan should come on fairly often, especially when you are queing at a section.Keep an eye on it make sure its working.Hope this helps!!!

COLOUR.....?blue or black!

http://www.splatshop.co.uk/sherco-sherco-s...-1442_1454.htmltry this
-
The play is definatly normal. My 04 seems exessive, but i believe it like that to stop the disk from fracturing when brake is fully on and front shocks are then fully compressed (like maybe a heavy landing)Sounds wierd but somebody will no doubt tell me i am a k**b!
-
You need to be 100% sure.Spend a tenner on a new piston/seals,then you can rule it out.I was 99% sure when i had the problem, but the new piston cured it for me.
Hope you get it sorted
-
I wondered about doing that, but i dont think its a good idea because the seals will be under pressure contantly and they might leak.
