  3. Cheers Jon. PS are you Stoodly by any chance??
  4. The persons autioning this bike are a legitimate breakers company,so i would suspect nothing dogy
  5. Hi all,can anyone tell me the correct amount of turns the air/mixture screw should be on an 03 txt 125 pro?? Cheers
  6. Definately the best way(as described by ham2) is to put a slow action throttle on and retard the timing.I have a 04 290,it always uused to kick back and was way to snappy. Now its really soft, but still loads of power, which is more controlable.
  7. Me to,but mine is well used, the 250 has seen hardly any action
  8. I want to swap my 04 290 for my mates 05 250.My bike is in goog nick, new chain/sprockets/new tyre(not seen mud yet)no problems. He bought his bike brand new,he doesnt use it that much now.He wants to swap, with me giving him cash. He`s asked for

    06 Crack...

Hi Neo,i have an 04 sherco,i`ve had a similar problem with cracks, but mine has cracked where the sump guard attaches to the frame at the rear,in the footpeg area. There is a lug which is attatched to the frame, and there ia a bolt hole which fastens the sump gaurd.Mine has cracked hereand i know of at least one other case of this. Its probably caused by bashing the sump guard and it becoming bent. When i removed the sump guard,it was extemely dificult to get it back, because the holes dont line up due to the distortion. Check your bike in this area.Obviously yours is a newer model,so it might not have happened, but its an area which needs to be kept an eye on. Steve
  10. This my trailer, its good because it doesnt need much room for storage, you pull out the light board, then lean it up against the wall, but if storage is not a problem, then may be you should go for the normal type of trailer. http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll289/f...git/trailer.jpg link working now
  11. Hi,Alan, did you have any problems welding the silencer back together, like the packing setting on fire??
  12. Hi all, does anyone know where i can get hold of castrol 747 in the burnley area? Cheers

    Gas Gas Txt 50cc

Dont know how old your bike is,but i know that these bikes suffered from electrical problems, there was a kit to replace the ignition to improve starting. It definatly affected 2000 models, speak to gasgas uk,maybe they can help.
  15. Welding the box up is no problem, and to be honest,it doesnt sound good at all,and with the bike getting on for 4 years,it probably due re-packing.I will try to locate the postings on this subject if they are still available.
  16. Hi all,how do you know when the .exhaust needs repacking??,my 290 has developed what can only be described as a cracking sound rather than a pop if you know what i mean., i really dont like the sound its making at the mo.Would a repack change this??? Thanks in advance
  17. The minimun octane is 98,In my experiance, lower octanes dont always make older bikes pink, but new engines benefit more from the correct octane. The higher the octane, the less chance of the engine pinking. You can 99 now i think.
  18. Have you got the correct fuel in?Normal unleaded can cause pinking, also a dodgy plug can sometimes cause this.Change the plug and check the fuel octane. As for the tick over,i would give the carb a good clean. The shercos are a bit prone to getting crap in the air filter.I have an 04,filter alway gets mucky.
  19. Sorted,seal gone on M/S piston.
  20. I agree with al of the above,i to had a gt 32,bloody heavy lump compared to my sherco, good bike though. Change the bushes round, job done
  21. You should check that the master cylinder is working proprly, check the seals on the piston for rips/tears.I had the same problem with my sons gasser last week, the seal on the piston had split, got a new one and it sorted out.On some bikes the plates stick together,my sherco does it all the time,i think its quite common on this model.Usually i just potter round in 1st gear blipping the throttle, and it frees of in about 15 secs,i have to do this every time i go on it.A friend of mine has an 05 beta 125 with the same problem,he`s bike usually takes about 30 to a full minute to free off.If all this fails, you could put a new clutch in. Hope this helps you out
  22. The best way is to use helicoils. You drill the hole out to a given size, tap the hole, then screw a special wire insert into it,which contains the original thread size. Its a simple job if you are handy.Go to an engineers merchants, explain to them what you have done, they should be able to help. Not sure how much a kit would cost, but it wouldnt be that expensive. Failing that, you could drill the holes out in the hub and tap them the next size up,but every time you put a new sprocket on you would have to drill the holes out(in the sprocket)to fit the larger bolts.
  23. Hi all I recently fitted a new clutch on my sons 03 125 pro,the bikes been out about four times since with no probs, but this sunday whilst waiting in the que, with the clutch in ready to go,the clutch began to take up the drive all on its own,so much so that the bike stalled then the clutch wouldnt work at all,no lever pressure also .After a few expletives,i cracked the bike up and clutch was ok.It happened again later on. When i started the bike up this morning, the clutch will not disengage at all, rode around the street trying to free it(like i do with my sherco),but nothing doing. I`ve put dextron 3 in the trans(carlube),and when i had the cover off i didn't mess with anything other than the clutch itself. Also, the lever pressure goes almost completely after one press, then comes back after about a minute. There doesnt appear to be any fluid loss either. Any ideas what could be wrong before i take it to bits again?? Thanks PS,another thing that's bugging me is when i bleed the clutch,Its realy hard to pump the fluid up to the master cylinder. The piston is definitely fully out against the circlip,i.e. the small spigot is out through the clip so piston is resting on the edge.Is this normal??
  24. Thanks for the replies.I gonna do it anyway, and yes,i am tring to save a few bob,but surely it cant be that difficult, even the experts have to start somewhere. You never know,i might be good at it Got trials to do this weekend and next, then i will have a go.
