Last year i changed my chain and front sprocket. The rear sprocket showed minimum wear.I `ve run all this year and the chain is just about shot.I used a Regina chain, which has stretched considerably, but like the first post says, renthal are suposed to be the best,so that said,if i would have put one on instead of the regina, maybe i wouldnt need to replace it yet.
Renthal for me next time.
-
Thanks for the advice chaps.I have a regina on at the moment but it seems to be stretching really quickly, makes me think its gonna snap.I think i will go for renthal,i`ve never heard a bad word said about them.Just to confirm,is it the 520 type??
Hey Scraggydog, funny thing that about original chain/sprockets.My mate bought a new 05 250,its still got the originals on and the`re still like new!!!
PHB,i always take a spare(old) chain when i go out.It must be paranoya!!!!

Its definatly easier to watch somene else do it.But if you want to do it yourself, you need a beadbreaker,or a big vice.Grip the tyre in the vice close to the rim, rock the wheel to and fro and the bead wiil eventually come off, then use tyre leavers to get tyre off.I`ve done it this way a few times myself.
I would say you definatley need a compressor to fit the new tyre.
-
My friend bought a vee rubber tyre becuse they are possibly the cheapest tyre, but last weekend the bead popped off the rim,he wasnt really doing much,so i wouldnt like to say if this was because the tyre is cheap.People have their opinions on tyres, but i use the dunlop.I can pick up a brand new one for

Hi all,did a trial today with a local club, good trial but a lot of the sections were very muddy.i would class myself as a novice rider, but today was a struggle, not that i didnt enjoy it though. One prticular section i fived it four out of five times .It was just a muddy climb with not much run up,but i just couldnt get any grip.I tried 1st,2nd and then third with a good handfull of throttle without any success. Most of the riders struggled, but some managed it easily.I was stood watching the other riders lines etc, then this bloke flew up on an old TY!!
So,what am i doing wrong, any advice would be good

Hi all, just bought a TXT125 pro 03.Its in super condition, not been abused etc.Every thing fine exept for a rattling clutch, which is working ok,slightly dragging at the moment, but i think this can be sorted `cos the lever needs adjustment.
Is the rattle anything to worry about??,I`ve heard its common on these bikes.
Thanks in advance
PS it only rattles when lever is out and not in gear, pull lever in,noise goes

Does any one know how many turns the mixture screw has to be out??

This should help with the timing

Sounds like the stator. My sherco had the same problem,it start ok then run for about 20mins then die.Anew stator cured the problem.Quite expensive though, about

If the farmer owns the land, which i`m sure he does because he comes round collecting money, cant he do what he wants with the land?Does he have to have planning permission to let people ride their bikes on his land?
Even if somebody is complaining about noise, the council or whoever will have to measure the volume of noise, and i cant really see it being much of a problem to anybody.I`ve been up there a few times and i cant recall seeing any houses close by.

I hear Iridium plugs mentioned fairly often. What are the main advantages of these plugs.

If there is no play in the disc,it could break when the forks compress. Its quite normal.

You should be able to identify the year of the bike by the frame number

Looks like an old TL engine or something in there.Somebody `avin a laugh???

I never use any throttle when starting.Maybe i`ve used the wrong fuel,i`l have to check. The mixture screw should be 3.5 turns out.
PS,copmech, tell me about the vent tubes

Stator was renewed not 12 months ago,so i`m fairly sure this is not the cause.

I`ve got a problem, which is ,my bike wont start when its hot.It keeps running all day,buy if i leave it stopped for 10mins or so,it wont go.I have a spark, got fuel in float bowl.I have noticed that when i try to kick it up,the plug is completly dry. This happened recently,so i took carb off,the jets were clear,i put the carb back on and it started firs kick.I`m pretty sure there is nothing else wrong.Seems like a fuel problem.
Any ideas??
Cheers in advance
