    Rm500 Suzuki.

I would get a more modern silencer approved for enduro competition like an FMF Q stealth and make it fit. Maybe cruise ebay for a used stock KTM silencer?

    05 280 Pro

Yeah, loose parts make me nervous too! I think I'll get the right bolt.
  3. Three rounds and two front runners are out of it already both with Knee injuries. First Villopoto and now Alessi. Bummer.

    05 280 Pro

So, after further thought and inspection, I realized that the allen bolt that holds the clutch pack on isn't hollow like it should be. I know that this bike had been apart before and someone must have replaced this bolt with one that isn't hollow. Maybe they broke the original? I figure this is the source of my problem. Anyway, I have heard of guys running the bike without this particular bolt in place. Anyone out there have any personal experience with this?

    05 280 Pro

Did I just over fill it?
  6. All it takes is one good bump and you'll have this prob. My 05 has a slight case of it.
  7. I think it is pretty regular practice to have a few after riding. Afterall, I ride for fun. That's what it is all about.
  8. Sooooo, anybody going to the MX of Nations this weekend? I had the chance to go last year as it was in the USA. I have to think some of you Euros are going to attend! Should be a great race! Definately something to see if you have the chance. Adam

Caselli out with a cuncussion. Dang!
  10. Anybody know the artist that plays the song in the vid City Trials posted? I like it.
  11. Steve, my bike runs fine. Just as good as any other 05. I rode an 07 when it was pretty much just out of the crate. I wasn't impressed enough to want a new bike. It ran just like my 05 270. I rode an 08 that just came out of the crate this year and WOW! This was a whole new animal.
  12. So what are the results of this kit? I know that the 08 rev 3 runs much better than my 05 and even the 07's I have ridden. I'd be interested in trying this if it makes the bike run like an 08 does.

    Natc Entries ?

That doesn't seem like alot of riders. We usually pull in almost 80 riders for a district event. Where does the $100 a day rider fee go? That alone is bringing in 34 grand.
  14. Do we need an OHV sticker even though it is on Private land? I'm sure there are going to be a ton of people that show up with out one. We aren't required to have any type of sticker on our bikes here in PA. Mostly b/c you can't ride anywhere unless it is privately owned land.

    270 Rear Brake

I had a similar problem with my 05. Are you sure the plunger inside the master cylinder is traveling all the way back out after you let off the brake? The master cylinder on Betas are right above the chain and get slathered with all of the chain lube, mud, and water that slings off of the chain. Remove the master cylinder from the bike and give it a good cleaning inside and out. Take it right apart and make sure the o ring is good and everything. Lube it up good with WD 40 or something so it doesn't have any drag. Hope this helps.

    08 3.2 Opinions

I've riden both an 05 Montesa and an 07 3.2. The 3.2 has more power, no contest. I thought the 3.2 felt more like a modern two stroke. You could ride with a little more clutch. The Montesa "felt" heavier to me. Not suer if it actually is or not. They both have excelent build quality. If I had a choice I'd go with the Sherco.
  17. Hey Paul, sounds like your friend there has a little more disposable income than most of us! I'd also argue that a higher % of trials bikes are actually used for competition than MX/Enduro bikes are.
  18. 12 OZ curls and skiing usually keep me in shape all winter!
  19. I know that as a consumer I appreciate the opportunity to go to a dealer and do some"tire kicking". I usually buy year old bikes that have been taken as a trade in. I also usually trade in my bike at the same time. I'd rather trade in my old bike and let the dealer sell it. I understand I might make out better finaccially if I sold my bike outright. I'd rather not deal with it though. In my opinion this is the biggest advantage of going thru a dealer.
  20. No one has 10 grand to spend on a trials bike.
  21. I'd say that you'll probably see the guys normally on trials bikes on MX/enduro bikes because they will want to be in the premier class and race for $$$$$.
  22. This is the result a new rule should have. Inovation.

    Lane's Apology

I'm here to post in this very important thread.
  24. That is the beauty of marking sections with all white tape. Run the sections one direction one day, and then the other direction, the next. Running sections backwards can be REAL interesting, sometimes. Thats definately the easy way to make 12 sections into 24 sections real fast! Yes that is a EASY way to do things but for me, someone who will be at these nationals, I feel it might be a little boreing to be riding the same spots twice, backwards forwards, whatever I think most riders want more then that, got to go with a different spot if at alllll possible That's what I'm saying tryalscody! I set up an event every other year for our club on my family's land. I make it a point not to repeat sections from year to year. I might reapeat one after 3 events(that would be 6 years). Most riders change classes by then anyway. I kind of pride myself on finding "virgin" sections for the riders every time I set up an event. I get compliments every time I put one on! I was just saying that putting on a 3 day event that has national lever sections will be really tough. I also believe that if we would change the National format to an East/West coast format you might see some very good riders come out of the wood work! Riders that otherwise couldn't afford to take time off to compete at events for from home.
