Had this problem with my 06 beta when I first got it. Whenever it was even slightly on its side or pointing down hill when stopped, just would not start again. Found that the fuel was being syphoned out of the carb by the tubes coming out of the carb. fixed this by putting holes and slits in the tubes, after being given advice on this forum. Never had a problem after that other than when it goes completly upside down (which is pretty often with my riding ) hope this helps.

A freind of mine has an old 96 gasser and is wanting to change the tyre on the back wheel. At the moment he has a 'tubeless' tyre with a tube in it and the wheel also has a gripper. Hes got a new tyre he wants to put on which is a 'tube type' tyre and is wondering if it will bead ok? If it has a gripper and a tube in the tyre will it matter if its tubless or tubed?

Looking at your riding in the mud the other night, you might need to start riding with it on stu!!!

Hi, ive got a beta rev - 3 06 and have just replaced my right footpeg bracket for the 3rd time, after bending it again!! It is the original type from beta. Having looked at it the support triangle piece on it only seems to be spot welded on and doesnt look very strong. I was thinking of welding it a bit more to make it more solid. What i want to know is, is it designed like that so the bracket gives before the frame bends or can i weld away ? Has anyone else had this problem?

Just to settle a dispute with a no it all mate , can anyone tell me if when wheels have spokes that go in through the rim, does that mean that they have to have a tube in them?

the first ryan young dvd is excellent and well worth the money. Bought it when i started last year and it taught me loads. Keep an eye out on ebay. The advanced one has a really good part in it about practising sections and how to build up sections difficulty bit by bit as you improve. Well worth a look even if it is really advanced.

Have got the bearings, knocked the old ones out of the dog bone piece, but am having real problems getting the seals in. The needle bearings have gone in easily and the bush, but i cant get the seals in on the outside of the bearing. Ive tryed tapping them in with a hammer and piece of metal that is the same size so i am pushing evenly all the way around, but the edge doesnt go in and just turns up, therefore warping the seal and wrecking it. Has anyone got any pointers on what is the best way to get them in i would be really gratefull.

Have finally got round to doing my 99 txt gasser up. The back end had loads of play so have decided to do the bearings. Have been told to just do the dog bone bearings so have ordered them, but, looking at all the other links, they dont look to good either. Shall i just replace just the dog bone bearings or all of them. Could anyone also tell me excactly what bearings i will need?

Hi, I have just switched from a Gas Gas txt 250 99' and bought a 06 rev 3 250. I have found that when i come off the bike and it is on its side for more than 2 seconds, when i pick it up again it takes about 10 min to start, as if it is flooded. Is this common and something i have to put up with or is it just a prob with the floats in the carb that can be adjusted. Really annoying as im only a beginner and do come off alot!! Any help will be great.

Ok...spot the idiot . Just checked the water as sutty just said...and there was none there . I checked it two rides ago and it was fine, and on closer inspection have found a split on one of the hoses. Changed the hose, put coolant in, tryed to kick it over and the coolant started to come out of the nuts on the head by the spark plug Can anyone tell me what i need to change, and how much damage ive probably caused and whether it can be sorted easily...or expensivly!!

Hi, I have a Gas Gas txt 250 1999 and am having problems with the engine. The engine started knocking slightly when i rode it about 3 weeks ago. Since then i havent rode it but started it up this moring and with in half an hour of riding it around the farm it really started knocking to the extent the bike vibrates. The noise is coming from the top of the engine by the spark plug. Also, the revs are all over the place, when you open the throttle up and then shut it off it keeps reving. I couldnt even switch it off with the normal stop switch and had to stall it. when it does stop reving itself it cuts out. Its now not running for more than 20 secs before it cuts out. Also, all of the nuts around the head of the bike are smoking and it really smells like a burning smell!!! Ive cleaned the carb out thinking it could be a lack of fuel getting through, but it hasent done anything to help. Now starting to think gasket or piston but as im not at all mechanicaqlly minded need some advice. Help!

Hi, I have been looking at vans of that size for the last 4 months and have finally purchased one...a Toyota Hiace. Was tempted by the transporter but have heard from a lot of people that they are just not built like they used to be, and the parts are really expensive. Has a transit on test drive and it was really good, but a bit to 'tinny' for my liking. The hiace is excellent, really solidly built and i get about 45mpg out of it. If your in doubt about toyota, just look at the hilux they tryed to detroy on top gear!!!!! and the hiace has got the same d4d engine that the hilux has.

Hi, ive got a pair of Forma Gripper 2's and they are really supportive of the ankle. Had alot of falls and they always seem to do there job. Also they are really good at keeping your feet dry. Always good fun watching riders jumping from rock to rock trying to cross stream sections while i just walk straight through The only problem is the plastic straps on them, they really need to have metal pins in them as I have got through a few now.

cheers lads...am still deliberating on what to get but atleast i know its an option now. imagine getting a van and not being able to fit a bike in it....

Does any one know how many, if any, bikes you can get in a new ford connect.

When i prop my bike up on a stand i have noticed that there is about an inch of play vertically in the rear wheel/swingarm, however, there is no play horizontally. I was thinking it would be the bearings, but wouldnt there be play in all directions? Ill change the bearings anyway as i dont know when they were last changed but was wondering if the problem might be with my rear shock. Has anyone had a similar problem or any advice on whats best to do. My bike it a TXT 250cc 1999.

Hi, at the moment have a VW Caddy pick up which is excellent for the trials bike, but, due to work am needing to up grade to a bigger van. The Toyota Hiace seems like a good option and was just wondering peoples opinions on it. i.e how many bikes can you fit in and is it good on juice. Cheers

The front brake disc on my TXT 250cc 1999 has a bit of movement in it. I have just noticed this and thought it had just come loose, however, someone at a trial said it was supposed to be slightly loose and to leave it. Is this correct or should i tighten it so its solid with no movement. Any advice would be really helpful.

Ive started riding about 3 months ago now and have got on excellently with my Gas Gas txt 250cc 1999. Havent had to do anything other than the fork seals since i got it and it didnt cost a fortune to buy. Some people have told me they can be high maintanance but my mates have got Gas Gas and they havent had any problems either. Really nice to ride and has more power than ill ever need.
