Its not just the pegs that are bad on the rev-3, the quality of the hangers on my 06 are terrible. Have to weld them up when they come because the weld on them is really bad. After about 6 months of use they bend backwards so there not 90 degrees with the bike. Its not like im hitting them against rocks. I bent one back a fair way by coming off on a muddy bank with no rock in sight. I can see why they changed them on the 07 now!!!

Ive just put an S3 front exhaust pipe on my 06 beta, but it never came with a new gasket. Ive put the old gasket on for now but it is slightly leaking. Was wondering if that liquid gasket you can get will be ok for now so i can use it on the weekend until the new gasket comes?

Im looking to replace my front tyre and want to know what people opinions are about IRC's on the front. Switched form Mitch to IRC on the rear and think its far better for finding grip (especially in the mud), but have heard conflicting reports about the IRC's on the front. Or is there other brands you guys would recommend?
-
Cheers for the replys. I have tryed the fork alignment before and it was all ok, so will take them apart as soon as i can and have a good investigation. will keep you posted on how i get on.

I have IRC tyres and run the back at between 2 1/2 - 3 psi if there is no rocks and go up to 3 1/2 if there is lots of rocks. I run the front at 4 1/2 in all conditions unless is really muddy and then drop to 4.

Ive been doing my old bike up (99 gas gas txt) over the last year and is now running really well. The only problem i have with it is the forks seem lifeless, they work but there is just no spring in them at all. Is there anything you can do to rebuild them other than buying a new set of forks. Ive tryed different weight oils and adjusting the tops of the forks, which made absolutly no difference to the reaction of them. Im wondered if there broken? Anyone got any advice.

looking to do mine at the moment. Cant believe how much its going to cost to get. As i dont have a road bike and gear cos i only want the licence for road trials, the cost for hourly lesson is massive, Plus the cost of tests, theory, cbt e.t.c is prob going to get up to about

Although the 280 is a powerful bike i wouldnt worry about it to much. Youll soon learn how to use the power. Seen a few beginers start on big bikes and they soon get used to the power and get on very well with them. As stated though get a slow action throttle on the bike and make sure there is a fly wheel weight on it and it should help.

Ive also had this problem on my beta. I did what stu said and bent the bracket back up when the mud guard is off. This worked great and had about 10 - 15mm of clearence between the wheel and exhaust afterwards. However, after binning the bike a few times the bracket soon bends back down and the exhaust starts rubbing again. I dont want to bend the bracket back up again as im worried it will break, as its looking quite 'creased' and 'white' where it bends, so have gone back to using washers to pack it out. Works well and ive got just enough clearance, even when ive got my big ass right over the back wheel!!!!

i must say that gassers are the worst to be sat behind cos they throw the fumes up towards your face. All other makes send them down towards the ground. Maybe all gassers should be banned from running in a queue!!!!!

Great write up on the xispa on the r2w site. Sounds like its going to be a really good bike. Definetly thinking of one now when i change mine.
-
Has anyone heard any more news on how the xispa's are getting on. Any one willing to write any reviews? Am changing my bike in a few months and just curious to see how there going.
-
what tmx need is a jeremy clarkson type character to do the bike reviews. No messing, just blatantly honest. And maybe some top gear type challenges with trial bikes!!!!!
-
Just curious, but why didnt you ask if you could ride the classic trial as an invited rider i.e.riding with no placing inthe results? Done this before and most are more than happy to let you ride...

I used to use the michellin but switched to the IRC and havent looked back. I find they give much more grip in the mud. They also tend to fling the mud out of the grips and not get clogged up the same as other brands which i think makes a big difference.

I want to put some new decals on my beta's tank and have read on here that doing it wet is the best way, as you can move it around before it sets. How exactly do you do this? Do you put the whole sticker in water and then put it on the bike or just wet the area on the bike you want to stick it on. If anyone can adivise on the best way will be much appreciated.

My girlfriend has got a rare lung disorder where she needs oxygen constasntly and struggles to get her breath. She came to the sheffield indoor trial last year, in front row seats, and she was fine. They even had smoke pumped out in the middle of the arena at the beggining for the entrance of the riders and it was fine.
-
Same opinion here. The riding was awesome and the atmosphere was so electric when doug was in the sections. Was great to see everyone cheering and supporting him so well. Shame about the entrance of the riders on the cars though. Boring and naff. Where were the wheelies and showing off on the bikes for an entrance...thats what everyone wanted to see.

What an awesome day. Well done to all the organisers. Highlight was definetly riding the new 250 evo............just got to start saving now!!!!

Just been out in the garage for the last 2 hours and have finally got it sorted. I replaced the piston in the master cylinder, set the adjuster right out and bled the system. Tryed to bleed it the normal way but couldnt get a good pressure, felt spongy, so after swearing, cursing and kicking of the bike did what you sugested heath and pushed it from the bottom up with a syringe. Worked a treat. Feels better than ever now.
Thanks for all your help guys.

Hi, My front brake has stopped working. The lever comes all the way back to the handle bar grip and the adjuster screw is right in as well. It was fine when i was out on it last week and seems to have happened over night.
Tryed to bleed it just now, but when i pull on the lever nothing comes through. I think its the master cylinder but am not sure. Also, if it is, how do i go about changing it. Ive never worked on brakes before so dont really know what im doing!!!!

Get a slow action throttle if you havent got one already. Just put my fast action in the bin as was getting me into to much trouble!! Cant believe how much its helped my riding since changing. Everything seems that bit more smooth and less aratic

Cheers kinell, just been out and did what you said and it worked a treat, all straight again!!! Was starting to get worried! Now to try that hill again.......

I had a crash today on my beta rev3 06 in which the bike went up in the air and came down hard on its side with a 'crack'. I picked it up, jumped on and noticed that when holding the handle bars straight the front wheel was slightly off straight. (About 10mm to the right when looking at the tyre just past the mudguard.) I tryed to hold the wheel with my knees and bend it back around but it wouldnt go back straight. Later on i took the mudguard off and wheel out, loosened everything on the shocks/yokes and put it back together. I noticed that when the mudguard brace was off how easy it was to hold the wheel with the knees and move the handle bars to 'straighten' the wheel. Is this normal as i was quite shocked at how much rigidity the mudguard brace gave? I think the mudguard brace is bent on the one side as when i tightened the mud guard back on the wheel went out of straight again. Although the wheel is better than before it is still not completly straight. Has anyone else had this problem and know what could be wrong. Im hoping i havent done something to the yokes although they look ok!!!. The handle bars are ok and definetly not he problem.

I also really enjoyed the trial and definetly one of the best ive done in a while. Testing sections (for me anyway!!) and plenty to have a go at. Excellent venue. Looking forward to the next one already.
