  1. 2001 Montesa - do you know him? No - not even sure if it was him 2nd up the "gulley/stream/ravine" on the video but it sure sounded like a four stroke, and I thought Amos was the only rider with tappets aboard?
  2. Anyone know what bike rider No.82 David Cocker was riding? (2nd rider up the stream on the video)
  3. Another option would be to JB Weld-epoxy (UK-Araldite) a stud into the damaged hole with a nut on the outside of the fork leg boss to do the clampiing. In case you are concerned about future thread damage then the nut and stud threads would be more durable than the softer aluminium of the fork leg.
  4. Steve ..ah yes the infamous Trial 240 Professional. Steve Saunders said it was a giant killer.. Nigel Birkett set standard time on one in the Scott... John Lampkin said 'my 240 Fantic's fanTAStic' ...anyway back to the spec sheet for the 240 with the Dellorto PHBL 25 BS Main 98 Pilot 44 Choke 60 Needle D33 2nd notch Spray Nozzle AQ 268 or 268 Carb Slide No.40 ...depending which side of the ocean you are on of course!!

  11. If yours is the blue-red 303 of 1987, or the Series2 blue-yellow model of 1988 then it will have a wide wishbone linkage rather than the more modern tri-point central block of the fluoro orange 89-305 and later models. The 303 featured a tricky steel bush inside a wear sleeve through the side of the swingarm ..and riders whine about maintainig todays linkages!! Let me know which and I will e-mail the rear suspension parts page.
  12. After the 247 & 307 of 1990, there was a blue & yellow air cooled 249 (& 309), followed by the Clubman and dual seat Coach Weekend models which were called 125 or 250, so not sure what happened to the 212cc size 247, 249 engine config. The 96 air cooled Clubman featured a dark blue rear fender with a red tank adorned with checker stripe, red front fender, yellow disk guard and ex-K-Roo alum swingarm, so lots of colour variations as parts from the liquid cooled models were used up on the air cooled range. So Tony what colour did your prospective new mount start out - do you have a photo. Not a lot changed other than cosmetics so depending on your location parts for an air cooled engine should be available. Check the condition of the rubber airbox to carb boot and carb to engine reed valve manifold as expensive to replace. Sometimes the swingarm axles froze in the center engine clamped bush which is not fun to remove, but a lot depends on the model you are looking at, hence all the colour questions. As always the linkage needel rollers need to be checked for play, as do the chain & sprockets. Shock action-damping. etc etc as with any used bike. Offer him a song and your SWM in part exchange!
  13. r2w were you referring to the fluoro orange 1990-247, or the orange/black 1995-Section 249R? I guess the 'carrot' clue was towards the orange fender of the 95 and the 'composite' subframe? Ahvala didn't join Fantic until 94, but then he won first time out in Luxembourg on the brand new 1995 Section, although he did ride a prototype at the 94 TDN - looked smart in black and red.
