  1. Seals came from a Bultaco dealer so I assumed they were the right kind.
  2. Anyone else notice that looks like a later tank, with the M49 seat. Interesting. More pictures without the rider in the way perhaps? I need to invest heavily in the Leakproof seals. The ones on my M49 and M100 are no good (both new) but the M92 is holding up. Might have something to do with how much you ride them.
  3. How good of a rider are you? For me I'll never be able to outride my bike as mostly stock as it is. If anything I'd try to lighten it but again it would be more cost effective to lighten the rider.
  4. Post your jets. I have a M49 with a sleeved original Amal and it's a couple kicks cold or else the pilot jet is clogged. Also what spark plug are you using?
  5. Matt is good people. Get a new petcock.
  6. As you can see here, demand drives the prices and thus the actual worth. If you want to sell that bike put it in for $1000 as is and hope you get it. To get $1500 you'd need new tires, new handlebar and complete exhaust, in my opinion. And the right buyer. Vintage trials in the US is a super obscure sport, heck regular trials is pretty obscure.
  7. There isn't one page that has everything, Bultaco made a number of bikes. But if you ask any question here, I'll bet you get an answer. Wait, I know you'll get an answer.
  8. Yes. Gotta take a bit of stuff off, but cases stay together.
  9. Here's my notes on the spark plugs. [url="http://web.me.com/davefriesen/Site/Bike_Updates_Blog/Entries/2006/8/17_The_Power_of_
  10. If you don't know the age of the seals, replace them. You'll be chasing carb and electrical demons possible all for naught. Does the electronic ignition need different timing?
  11. Ah, yes. I mean for an Amal.
  12. If I have a Bultaco that doesn't start with a couple kicks the first thing I do is pull the carb and clear the pilot jet. Even if it looks clear. 95% of the time that does it.
  13. I believe Woody has mentioned previously that the later M92 frames were also chromoly (lighter)?
  14. This guy was riding all over (the country, I think) going to different events. This picture is at the AHRMA National in Chehalis, Wa. I also saw him down at the Donner event previously that year. He was trying to sell the Montesa at one point and get another bike, IIRC. The VFR photo is a Photoshop. You can tell because the tank bag on top of the canoe matches the one on the bike.
  15. Both my Sherpas have twin plug heads, which work great for compression releases.
  16. It's probably harder to find places that you can't ride in Idaho.
  17. No idea, but someone here will, I'm sure.
  18. Yes, a radial bearing, at least on the ones I've looked at.
  19. Eh, it's not that bad. Considering what you want to do it should work just fine.
  20. Didn't you say you had a 64mm stroke crank now? What was wrong with it? I thought you were going to put a Pursang top end on it and try that. Will that not work? Also it might help if you keep just one thread going on your engine adventures. People will know when you update the thread, so there isn't much reason to create a new one each time.
  21. And maybe some foul language, especially when one of the pins goes shooting across the garage to the darkest corner. I have extra pins now...
  22. That's about how many times it took me. I don't remember why I had to pull it apart. Although I can't top the backward crank... My vocabulary did not increase... but it did get practice. I think it was probably because I didn't use a manual the first time, just an article from an old magazine which was more general, but eventual I got it. Overhaul
