  1. I was just funnin' with you. I wouldn't blame anyone for forgetting something 20 years ago when I can't remember what I was doing 20 minutes ago.
  2. You mean if you want to buy them from somewhere other than the Bultaco dealer? Dunno. You can always take out the old ones and measure them.
  3. You know the model number was right there on the bike. In the pics you look old enough to have master basic reading skills...
  4. Hugh's or Mobley didn't have any?
  5. Picture of silencer and even better, it in the position you want it might help a lot.
  6. I wouldn't go messing with the forks when slightly longer shocks might do the trick.
  7. You might be able to find some books that will cover most of it. But really, just start asking questions here and you'll get free info. Some of it a bargain, some of it not worth the free price. I'm not saying which mine will be.
  8. I don't know what other bikes are like but I found the Butlaco seals to be relatively easy to replace. Sure you have to pull a few things off but once you get to the seals it's straight forward.
  9. Be careful, some of those connectors only cut the fuel on one side. In most cases that's not a problem. On my Bultacos they have a crossover tube which makes it necessary to use a connector that blocks both sides.
  10. Then ya'll should know that as soon as you attach a trade name to anything the costs double. You want a business phone line? Sure, 2x home line. You want to lease a shop and buy some equipment? Bend on over. You want to prototype some parts? Goodbye
  11. So far these two are the only SM bikes I've run into. The bike in the first two pics I rode, it was a blast.
  12. I thought I'd read that coating the tank, using something like the Caswell epoxy might prevent the seepage and protect the decals? Just a thought.
  13. I think my Bultaco kickstarter weighs that much...
  14. Well, with how knotted up the panties get around here over the Xispa, you're probably right.
  15. 1. Show bikes aren't perfect. p***ing about the details isn't productive. Production details are more important. 2. While this might not be the best time to introduce a "new" make, I bet it's easier to sell a Greeves than an Xipswich, or whatever. 3. Recessions don't last forever, this bike may be posed for production in a while and the timing will be spot on.
  16. I would think the ITSA folks would be overjoyed to have a Canadian contingent. I'm not sure why they had the year cutoffs they did, but they sure seem to ignore the really old bikes. I'm sure it's because they expect so few of those bikes to show up.
  17. It's not a guess as to what happens as it's been tried before. Unless you only believe in what you try yourself.
  18. I assume the M116 Alpina is the one with the Pursang forks? I have heard that putting those forks on a Sherpa is unadvised as that it becomes highly unstable at speed. There were some recent pictures of a Bultaco which had the swinarm pivot moved forward. That and a shorter swingarm would do the trick.
  19. Look for "Options" (upper left of forum area).
  20. Flash + Macro. I think you description of "reduced diameter" is hard to picture. Do you mean the teeth are shorter than you expected?
  21. Pictures? They are worth a thousand words...
  22. Please update that with the corrected serial numbers it's no longer suspected to be an Alpina. The Alpina comments was made when the serial numbers didn't correlate with what the frame appeared to be.
  23. If your wife knows the actual number of bikes you have, you've already failed. If he inquires about cost, always give the pre-restoration cost, at the very most.
