  1. Hi kev Oh I see. So I need to screw the fuel screw it in to the end point and then unscrew half a turn. Is that right ? Gareth
  2. It is a dellorto. Will try the air screw and needle position over the weekend. Thanks for all your help. Hope it works. Gareth
  3. Nice one. Thanks. If its the other carb what should that one be ? I'm in work sadly so cant check.
  4. Thanks for that. I will give it a go. Bike seems totally standard. What about the needle position? I'm in Cardiff so no altitude.
  5. Yes there is a lot of clutch chatter which disappears with lever pulled in. But this noise is not that.
  6. Thanks for your reply. That was my thought. I'm going to strip the carb and clean the air filter. What is the rough air screw and needle position for this bike ?
  7. Just picked up this bike. Seems to have a knocking / plonking sound when the revs fall after it has been revved. It doesn't get it at idle or on the increase of revs. It appears just before the revs fall close to idle after high revs. Just put new petrol in and drained old petrol out of tank. I'm just going through the bike before I take it out for its first spin. Any ideas what this knocking is ? Air mixture? Air leak ? Or mechanical noise ?
  8. Hi there I severed my acl, pcl and mcl simultaneously whilst on my trials bike. IM also a theatre nurse who works in orthopaedics. I wear the donjoy armour brace when i ride. Brace gives great protection to collateral and crucia ligaments. It gives me great confidence to ride as i wouldn't want to go through 3 knee reconstructions again. I would pay £120 and see an orthopaedic consultant privately. You will hop the queue quicker. Don't bother with glucosamine as there is no evidence to prove that taking it orally will get into your knee. Save your money.
  9. I never had any success with caustic soda. I used to throw the front pipe of my rev 3 on the fire outside. Burnt out all the carbon beutifully. Wouldn't risk it on my evo as the mid section is integral.
  10. Sounds like a faulty fuel cap. Mine did exactly the same. I bought the billet racing tap from beta and problem sorted. There is a little spring valve in the standard cap which can either jam open and leak or jam shut and not allow gas flow. Hope this helps.
  11. Maybe njb sent you the wrong bushes to match your bike. I recently restored a mh123 and had the same problem. In motion sent me new bushes. Could also be the powder coat is too thick. I had to sand down my lugs post coating to get the bushes to fit.
  12. Thanks for that. Will get a new one.
  13. Whenever I ride my bike fuel is escaping from the breather pipe and down through the cable tidy rubber onto the crank cases. What can i do to prevent it ? The evo cap looks a similar design to my rev 3 and 4 cap and they never did this. I read a previous post and someone suggested a one way valve. Ive looked and because the inner diameter of the breather pipe is 3mm no valve ive seen is small enough. Its going to ruin the paint on my engine if it persists. Could the cap be faulty ? Would a longer pipe with a higher loop above the cap prevent this ? Could i even run a longer pipe down to near the swing arm where the carb overflows exit or would this cause syphoning ? I see beta sell a billet cap with an upwards rather than side exiting breather. Anybody know what diameter pipe fits on these. You can buy one way nipples for off road bikes but they fit 6mm hose. Any ideas ?
  14. Hi there Evo has equal spacers. At least mine does.
  15. Been speaking to one of my trials mates who says the 09 models suffered from caliper failure. The symptoms of which sound exactly like mine i.e. Gradual loss of braking during the ride. Lampkins typically replaced his.
  16. Anybody know what size torque socket fits the two bolts on the rear calliper ? Ive just ordered some torque keys and am just hoping one of them fits. Why aren't they just hex head ?
  17. Oh my god. Just priced up the cost of caliper kit and master cylinder kit and it is £45.
  18. Hi there. Yes it is tight between the bearings.
  19. I think the same. Will do just that. Thanks
  20. Thanks for that information. Pedal was set correctly and plenty of space left in resevoir so I'm not sure its that. What do you think about the pistons ? Should they retract equally into the caliper ?
  21. When I torque the rear axle to the recommend torque the wheel on my 09 250 evo just seems too tight and doesn't spin free. I read somewhere that sometimes the inner spacer between the bearings is often too big. Would this possibly be the case with mine ? When I slacken off the torque it spins fine. Any ideas ?
  22. Been having trouble with my rear brake on my 09 250. It just seems to lose braking power the longer I ride. Ive cleaned the disc, pads don't seem contaminated and have 3mm depth. Wheel won't even lock despite it doing so at the start of the ride. I re bled the brake. New fluid. Piston on right side of calliper doesn't seem to want to compress all the way back into calliper when compressed. Left one compresses almost flush with face of inner calliper. Is this normal or should they both slide back into the calliper equally? Disc sits between pads well but it looks like its the left side that's doing most of the work. Any ideas ?
  23. For anybody who is interested, the elf oil is Elf Htx 740 75w. Apparently its very good.
  24. Still nobody has said which elf oil it is. Anybody know?
