  1. Right today I did quite a few things, I did that with the flywheel, cleaned up and secured all the electrical connections, cleaned carb+filter+airbox, checked and cleaned the petrol cap, played around with the throttle cable, fiddled with all the carb settings, tried three different spark plugs and then went practising to find it was no better if not worse. So I really am stuck now for what to do. The two things I think it could be are the killswitch or the CDI unit. I am going to ring rathmells regarding the CDI and anbody know of any problems with these... http://www.trialendurodirect.com/products/...Switch_476.html as it is the one I have and the rubber seal around the button is cracked. Please help me
  2. It is an 08, what is there that I could do about the exhaust? I have made sure the front pipe is all cleaned out. As for the fuel I have changed the hose and cleaned the filters in the carb/tank and i always drain out the carb. I don't think it will be the problem of it being forced through as yesterday it started playing up after the first lap. The spark plug has been changed to one of the iridium spark plugs but didn't effect this problem. Might try that thing with the flywheel. I do have someone who has one but it could be kind of tricky to get it done by wednesday seen as id need to go out to try it today. I have just had a run over all the wires to clean them up etc. Does anyone know if they can be tested? Could it be the killswitch? I noticed that around the edge of the button the rubber seal had cracked so somehow could be effecting it? Thanks for the help so far...
  3. I agree with what has been set above however I have been thinking that if trials are been made harder then it is very difficult for a rider to step up a level/route not giving the rider as much acomplishment. If people keep on improving then surely there are other bigger/harder trials for them to be getting involved with.
  4. I am really stuck with my bike, now I have really had enough with it. The problem is that after at home getting the bike running fine from cleaning the carb and airbox etc after the first few laps of a trial or a few hours practising it starts to cough and splutter and generally not rev out right. I've tryed a lot of things but I need some suggestions. Someone said that it could be CDI unit/electrical box. Can you get these tested i.e. take it to a shop and have it tested. Could do with getting this sorted by wednesday so ideas quick please. Also anybody know if you can get your rear shock reconditioned or know of anywhere where one is going cheap? I so can't wait for the 010 bikes to come out and get rid of it.... Anybody found any more info? EDIT: Just to add its not because of the problems sherco have with running in the we etc cause it does it in the dry too and I seal it up. Also I thought it was weird because it takes either a few hours or a few laps to happen so I thought it couldn't be anything to do with the tempreture+the fan I know works fine and the rad is brimmed up.
  5. Turning the air screw in gives it more air I think. Have you changed the gearbox oil? As that needs doing soon after you get a new bike. Looking at you profile thingy it says you have a shercoR does that mean it is a race 125? If so it would be interesting to see some pics! Good to see someone moving to sherco!
  6. This is the most recent one I could find from a wednesday night falcon trial...
  7. Sounds as though you've got it, well it is what you should try josh! Cable tie it up!!!
  8. Anyone heard any other news about the 2010 shercos? It was around this time last year they released photos etc, was probably more like the start of august though. I agree with the guy above that they waited for the xispa release or whatever which explains the little difference for 08 to 09 models. I think I may have to dig into my secret savings acount to see if I can get my hands on one by october, I'd love a new bike! Another question, how do you say it lol? For example before it was "Oh 8" or "Oh 9" sort of thing, will it be "Oh 10"? Its stupid but it really bugs me.
  9. Well I didn't manage to get it out so its not loose, and the bearings are all done now.
  10. Bloody hell they are expensive, I can't afford that sort of money straight up i'm 15. For now I will have to make do with a broken one haha. Anyone know any going second hand or where I can get them cheaper?
  11. Right, my rear shock has had it, it travels about an inch and then goes pretty solid. So i will be in need of a new shock but where from? how much? which one? Thanks for any help
  12. Hi there, After 3 months away from the bike due to a broken scaphoid in my left wrist I am hopefully going to get my pot off and do my first trial on sunday. I know this is a common problem for riders and I was going to invest in a really good wrist support, so anyone had any experiences or know where I should look for one? Oh and if you are doing the BSSA trial on sunday you had better watch out Cheers
  13. There were so many people that went down there only to find they didn't have too, made me laugh a few times, just can't wait till my hand isn't broken. I'm counting the days.
  14. My Dad added the pics of the Jack wood trial last night, it was so enjoyable to watch and can't wait till im old enough. He took them at my section, number 19, the one before the fuel stop, at rocher top number 40 and maybe a few in the kwai. Anyway enjoy them and check back regular as he updates the sight every weekend, depends on what trial i am doing though. Have funn.... Linky
  15. Hi there, I'm sat here nursing a broken wrist(not been on the bike for a while) but should be back in a few weeks i hope. I've been told by a few of the lads to give the Loch Lomand trial a go but never really heard much about it. Whats it like for difficulty, section set up etc? I'd be riding in youth a is that all good? What does it compare to trials nearer my end? a bit like the jack wood? any help would be great, cheers.
  16. The photos on my website are low resolution jpegs 800x600 Yes a DSLR used and the old lens would only open to 4.0 giving severe restrictions in usual trials conditions - basically under cover of trees ie dark on the best days I now use a 2.8 lens and it helps greatly but they are damned expensive. I can also push the ISO if required which usually is. The shot by Ian is excellent no doubt about it (but high res to be fair). In the open 1,250 shutter speed. Its a damn good shot but I would have liked to have seen the pro shots - they are in a position to get Raga's face much better. Since learned that for 99% of the time a trials photo is much better for being able to see someones face and also people prefer to have a wheel in the air (for their own vanity) But the main control over trials shots is the darkness under the trees, and most riders don't like flash even though pro photographers don't give a hoot if they blind a rider. Thanks for comments R
  17. Anybody got an idea on what the prices will be on this years academy bikes?
  18. Yes I do know Lee, I of course assume Lee Sampson The god of trials riding lives arround the corner and has helped teach my son Duncan - but not recently as Dunc's has a broken hand more importantly I would like feed back please 289 visits and 1 comment - does that mean they are crap or good Going to Barnsley trial 15th March so should have them on Sunday PM - feedback would be nice
  19. Hello Should you wish to see any of my photographs taken at varied trials over the last year or so visit http://rjhague.jalbum.net/ You can download the low resolution photos but if you want high quality drop us a line
  20. Id say go for standard sherco, 09 or best to wait for 010, you won't be dissapointed, when I got my 08 it was a real big step up from my 06.
  21. I am in a similar position, I think last years academy the only difference was the stickers and that it was tuned by mr paxau, the new gas gas models seem to be very popular with most of the top lads going for them because of there lightness but mostly they all have the standard model and not the racing models. Best bet is to try and grab a ride on as many bikes as you can and what about the beta, they seem to have a higher spec than earlier models as standard. On another note does anyone now if there is an academy bike due this year as I haven't heard anything about one. Oh and bare this in mind, with sherco not selling as many bikes this year as previous and gas gas taking most of them you would have thought they need to step up there '10 models and I heard a new frame is due.
  22. I was twelve nearly thirteen when i got my first bike, I had no knowledge of what a clutch was and I was a rather weee skinny lad. But anyway I got my hands on a sherco 125 05, you've got to learn somewhere and I picked it up quite quickly within a few hours of practise and the wheight wasnt much of a problem for me. Anyway more info if you want later.
