    Grips

I did do the fold the end of wire over thing, that is what was cutting my grips. I have not looked for the Mechanic's tape.........maybe worth a look.
  2. That one little piece of kit for trials is the most important part. It is an absolute must for every rider, especially for those that are new to the sport. Glad you are enjoying yourself and you are definitely HOOKED!!!
  3. Oh no Don, we are not going to get your bike dirty. We are merely providing the opportunity and materials needed for YOU to get your bike dirty. It is just one of the many services that we at Bent Fenders feel are necessary to provide for a fun and challenging day on the bike.

    Grips

wrap bar and throttle tube with electrical tape once or twice (not too much tape) Slosh a little Petrol inside grips Slide them on. On the clutch side I have started to use a plastic Zip Tie to hold the end of the grip down to help keep dirt, mud etc. out. I use the plastic because I tried wire. and the wire ends would either cut into my grips or my hand. (I found that to be unpleasant)
  5. As the Lawyers have advised me to say: "I can only state that I had fun in the sections that I rode last weekend." A couple spots the Throttle is your friend.

  7. Well I guess I need to pay better attention.
  8. Wife is bothering me to do this and that, she won't stop talking......... I KNOW I WILL GO CLEAN THE CARB ON MY TRIALS BIKE. BRILLIANT
  9. I say that's a real good finish for the first year in the top class. Only direction to go is up!! Now next year the team can work on closing the gap. As they say "Rome wasn't built in a day"

    My 4rt

Panerai, Fabulous Pics, I think it is great you are able to do all that engine work yourself. Hope the bike is performing as you had hoped.
  11. Good show by the Ladies .........bummer they were a Lady down. Give em Hell guys and Good luck. I am doing a "Dry Dance"
  12. AAAAHHHHH.............I see Umm he never really got around to getting that video before he gave me the fan and I blew it up. So I will take the blame on that one. but he purchased the same fan I got from Helixparts. but he bought his fan first, (yep I am a follower) But the Helix fan was not a direct replacement for his gasser fan, He had to do some tinkering with it.
  13. HUH???? Ya kinda lost me there cope......................Not sure where this ties in. Ya have too many Or I may be a bit daft.
  14. Quick update. IT'S ALIVE AGAIN Left Original Right Fan from Helixparts Fan blades direct swap The new one had threaded mounting holes. so I drilled them out to 6.5mm like my original fan. Also slotted the holes like the original. (made inserting the rubber grommets easier) Bolted directly on with the original hardware. The electrical connection is exact same as the original, just plug and go.
  15. I just think it is funny that the site owner is member #20 not #1 I want to be member #666
  16. NO NO NO ZIPPY HATES SNOW!!!!!!!!!!! I am merely comparing my God-like physique to that Jolly Ole Elf of the North. (We look quite a bit alike, except he has more hair) To kick my ass I believe Biff would use his trusty method of merely stating "Don't be a pansy, you can ride up that 16 foot vertical cliff, just give it more gas" And the that I am would think "Well, Biff says I can so therefore I can" And when I crashed he would just say very simply "Not enough gas, try again"
  17. than that would be either an annual family reunion with much and "Hey ya'll watch this!" being the phrase of choice for the day. or the usual antics of teenage children. (Of which they pay for repairs)
  18. Firstgear, I am overwhelmed at the amount of concern you show for my well being. I know you made at least one Advanced section that you said "Zippy can clean this one and will make all the other 5's worth it." Sounds like the sections were reminiscent of when I was a youngun in the early 80's, sections that the really smooth riders would excel at. I am still alive and kicking. I have a new fan on order should be here in a few days. Basically my competition season is over for this year. (I am using the economy as my standard reason) Really sucks that I am done competing this year, but next year I expect will be much better. When I get the fan put in I will at least be able to practice and have fun, and stay in some semblance of shape. Still that shape is mostly round
  19. let's see bad global economy, an over priced piece of Trials Iron, Might have helped if they were selling them in the US. (probably not much in reference to first point of economy) Would it be horrible if Honda did absorb montesa? The Montessas are Hondas with a different name anyways. About the only reason to retain the montesa name is nostalgia from "The Hayday of Trials"
  20. Brand new $50 Just remove the metal housing and looks like the mounting holes are exact. Hope this does not violate advertising in forums rules.................................I might get a spanking
  21. Those have got to be THE STUPIDEST spectators in the world...........................Hey let's get a group of about 40 of us and stand on the track at the bottom of this hill, and when the race car comes we will all try to get out of the way!!!!
  22. I have yet to take a drive or ride somewhere and not look at all the section opportunities on the side of the road.
  23. With a trials specific helmet the back area at the neck is usually cut up higher, that way the rider can look up easier. Ventilation seems to differ between individual models of helmets.
