    well said.
  2. very sweeping statement that one, ishy. Its a bit like saying the public aren't interested in the SSDT cos years ago it was a much bigger thing. Times change people and more exactly trials aware punters are getting fewer each year, trials at the top level is very far from what we do but does that mean we can't appreciate it? Isn't it the shop window we should be proud of? Yes we all stick flags in the ground and whatever happens in Spain, France or at the top FIM level will not affect the way your or my club sets out. Fortunately we have a national body that does not follow the FIM completly and all over the country both rules are available. Fortunately many clubs like Richmond put on events which vary in severity take the blue bar which must be one of the greatest events for a newcomer to do, but they can also put on a testing youth national and good centre events. If this doesn't catch them then maybe the TV coverage may just encourage more to look at our sport in one way or another.
  3. Oh yes you can I was told by two competitors that the trial was a shambles marked out as twenty double subbers and ridden stop allowed. If they have a round next year the ACU steward Tim Fairbrother should be sacked!!! One mate travelled 300miles for what he described as a total waste of time.
  4. Whatever make tony would win. Whatever rules too.
  5. ????????????????????????????????????????????????? What kind of analogy is that? We have rules in motor sport to prevent CHEATING! Eat as much peanut butter with jello or chocolate or fish its not a sport, not this side of the atlantic anyways.
  6. you guys are difficult to understand, at least some of you.........

Well at least you exist Bob. How are sales over there?
  8. Right then, as late a frame you can get say a gg pro. Aircooled motor, really late fantic? and fantic wheels? Not forgetting to bolt on the shockers!! Do they have to work in your "rules" or could you keep the linkage?
  9. Yep suppose you could get an extra 12mm or so with a new frame plate. So what happens at the back engine mount? a new tube with a bracket?
  10. yep and will be giving your lads a cheer!
  11. Sorry yes with the two and's in one sentence I misunderstood. It is impossible to move both pivots further forward than the picture above, the only way I can see it would be possible is with only one pivot gearbox sprocket side. Look at vestys bike and the spindle is almost touching the cases, rhs. The only solution would be a very narrow pivot rhs is that how its done? Wouldn't this compromise stability?
  12. Bloody hell thats alot of travelling!

From what I got secondhand Mick Boam has decided that a scorpa is better for him than a Xispa. From what we here in the UK can gather the importer (if he really does exist!!) is neither enthusiastic or half full of anything. The silence and more to the point availability is non existent from what ordinary punters can tell.
  14. Are you saying the IOW boys are doing the BTC aswell this year?
  15. Vesty's frame is white.
  16. I was never sure whether the one I have as above was Reynolds but its possible, and as big john says his name is stamped on the engine from this bike. Would love to see a photo of the swnging arm set up can you get one? My main intrest is how they fixed the back engine bracket?
  17. Thinking maybe a fixing at the bottom of this mount to frame would allow forward mounting the pivot as reynolds bike mentioned above?
  18. It hasn't been ridden much last few years can you tell? The rear engine to swingingarm bracket is a standard one with the two engine bolt holes moved back to allow the spindle forward. Angled top with file so doesnt look standard.
  19. why is cheating appealling to you?
  20. Rear frame reynolds (?)
  21. close up of rear engine mount
  22. Not so sure the late head steady was a development to stop the top tubes bending. The rear engine mount is important I'm sure.
