March 4, 201016 yr I know some people frown upon it, but I'd like to convert my TY350 Mono to a twin shock. Has anyone done it and can pass their wisdom on to me?
March 5, 201016 yr Author I have a nice little Reflex, but I don't know when I'll get it running. The TY is a good bike and the brakes work really well, it sure would make a nice twinshock.

March 5, 201016 yr why is cheating appealling to you? I would accept a converted mono in the twin shock class, but if there was one protest , they would be disqualified. If that happens a few times, people would stop building them. Don't do it.
March 5, 201016 yr if that's the road people want to go down why not just by a Rev 3 and stick a shock on the other side- you could even take the internals out of it so that it looked like a shock but in reality it just slid up an down, that way you could ride the twin shock series one week and world rounds then next
March 5, 201016 yr "Twinshock" refers to a class of machines, not a number of shock absorbers. TY Monos are not in that class, so don't do it - it is cheating.

March 5, 201016 yr Author Our rules aren't that strict and it's not considered cheating. The only rules are; twinshock, aircooled, no hydrolics. There is a guy with an '04 315R with twinshocks, home made drum brakes(he's a machinist), and an engine out of a Banshee 4 wheeler.

I'm not really a victim, I knew full well what it was when I bought it. I guess I could pull the motor and put it in the Reflex, and use the wheels too while I'm at it.
