I don't mind either way as it happens, but think if in this country everyone has one set of rules some large minority will be unhappy enough to give up and thats the worry. we need everyone to stay in the sport and add to it. Without a doubt there are some trials that need no stop, but to think that this change would suddenly be the panacea to all our woes is misguided.

  4. Great idea, take this years engine which is reliable and powerful yet light, soften it a bit use the new frame for an economy sherco/scorpa for 2010. Knock em out for 2999 and they are onto a winner.?
  5. And maybe some of the trick sections will be replaced and the series will focus on the riders it is aimed at. The one round I rode in 09 was spoilt a little by hoppers. Is this an argument again for one for a stop?

  7. I think you have hit the nail on the head, and is why the margin just hasn't been there for Scorpa as the sales have always been less than the other makes. Try to think what the conversation would be like to get Yamaha to tool up to produce a non-current motor, and what numbers they would want to be ordered for a big corporation to make it worth there while to set up? This is why the Sherco has been successful as all parts are made in small batches and put together in house.
  8. Try to use tyre soap as fairy liquid will stay there and help the tyre off should it deflate. tyre soap (you can always get a bit from your local tyre place) seems to disappear(?).
  9. Is the first section that close to the start? An old tyre or a run in one is always softer, but I wouldn't take the edge off a new one to do it. If you had a beader then you could turn the tyre on saturday evening if you were keen!

  16. Perhaps we are both jumping the gun and maybe the fim are too. Its only a few years since the youth junior pro steps have been set up and maybe a few more would come through in the next few years?

  18. The factories are not "throwing money at it" at the moment. Gas Gas have Adam, montesa through Honda/repsol tony laia and Fuji, beta Doug and jeroni sherco cabby. I am guessing all the others have importer funding. The trucks are all old, the gas gas one is ten years old the beta one i'm not sure about mont one is from the road racing team I think, sherco is again a few years old and not massive. Minders and mechanics well I doubt its too much. In fact the only casualty on the wtc front has been Scorpa, which wasn't massive in any case. So from going on what happened this year, it is sustainable at this level or more would have disappeared from events. Much more important is the credibility of the championships which needs more entrants. Is no stop the answer? Is section severity the answer? Why have 4 or 5 french hopefuls quit? Why has Shaun morris gone? how long can Oliveras cary on? What happened to Gibert from spain? Are these riders going to come back/would have carried on if it goes no stop?
