They can do it ok but it has to be a volume thing with any chinese deal and Trials only defence may be this. In theory there is no reason why if they can produce a 110cc quad for
-
Difficult this as the rear shock is not adjustable, it may be possible to get a weaker spring? Set the sag at about 65 to 95 depending on what feels best and change the oil in the front for a lighter weight, apart from that get a custom shock made if you intend staying on Sherco for a couple of years.
-
They said the exact same thing about the Japanese 45 years ago..........
-
I use and reccomend Ipone with or without strawberries.
-
Sorry, trying to get there whats the start time?
-
Doug is the best without doubt but behind the scenes if its a second year withiut the crown would he think of a change? Also if the money at Montesa Honda is finite will they swap him. Hope not as the best advert for the 4 banger would be to claim the championship. If he's off to beta could they afford him?
Credit where its due TC had the Freixa thing first of course.
-
With TMX saying that Freixa goes to Scorpa next year, that leaves Doug and Fuji at HRC mont. Now bit hypothetical I know but, big but, if you wanted to get the WTC championship back (assumes Raga wins aswell!) would you want the above mentioned or would the departure of one of DL or Fuji give funds to have say Bou and Fajardo for example. Again if doug goes where would he go to?
Then theres Caby at Sherco he's done well and would a Fajardo or bou move be a good thing?
-
Jet to siut will only work if they have experience of Sherpas, I doubt it.
-
They do seem to give a better spark, but then all new vs. old seem to.
-
If you are in the uk try castrol tqf, cut the little spout about 15mm and then push in and fill up, 450cc as stated above.
-
Thats hillsborough, are you over 40? If so I'll put you down unless you have a twinshock that would qualify too. Probably need help marking out so call me nearer the time. When are you here?
Off to Norway now.........
-
the more you say the more it seems to me its you, and definately no disrespect meant by that. If you have a chance get the Ryan Young DVD its great. What I would concentrate on is back to basics. If you need to dip the clutch at the top of the aforementioned hill go back do it again but shut off early so you stop at the very top, master that and then try shutting off 1/2 way up and then opening up again. Try small blips over very small obstacles say only 2 or 3inches high open and shut open and shut til you have mastered it, and so on. it may well be that all the softening has actually made the bike more difficult to ride? You are probably opening the throttle 3 or 4 times what I have to with the standard setting, the more you open the further to shut sort of principle. Possible.
I ride 90% of the time on a 1/4" opening I'm sure.
-
Sorry to jump to conclusions but my hunch would be that with all the technical information we could give you its probably time on the bike that will help best, and a 200 would be the next best thing for a raw novice if I am brutally honest.

back now. There may be some slight advantage with a mikuni but I would be sceptical if it is anything more than slight. the only problem with the bings is slide wear. If thats ok in the body and newish jetted standard and set lean on the float the carb is very sound and was never swapped at the time. Don't think fitting a mikuni will transform the bike because this just won't happen. If everything else is 100% and time is no object then I wouid give it a go, but is it spot on everywhere else?
-
Not significantly i'd thought, more likely lack of looking after the carb.
-
Avoid a midi like you would the sars virus.
Lots of options depends on your budget, and usage requirements. If things don't work out as planned I may have a good vw for you in the Autumn. If like me you are going to be travelling away from here to the better trials areas in the uk it may be you need a more comfortable ( better performance ) van.
-
Are there any details on the WTC in the States next year?
-
on point one are you in first gear? If so I am surprised that you have difficulty controlling the power as it isn't that bad to me and I have the standard set up. Have you been trialing long?
-
Variables are riders weight, alot of schoolboys can and do ride with next to nowt as they are so light,
Tyre make Michelins run better at higher than IRC,
Rocks need higher than mud, Set at start a little less and check before sections as they tend to gain a bit when riding,
etc etc.
Irun 4.5 in michelins and 3 to 4 in IRC
-
Good points John but surely the acceptance of riders of Tom Sagars ability as "contenders" for the title after winning it recently has surely meant the severity has been way too hard for centre experts never mind clubman. Also this " aimed at clubman" thing should be in the regs and an idea of what defines a clubman aswell perhaps? if it was a bit easier it could also incorporate an over 40 championship which is sadly misplaced in the classic series.
-
The difference there was that they didn't have the 4 stroke made so they couldn't ride it. Normally, particularily in MX and to a less extent Trials any improvements are made as an ongoing thing on the current works bikes then make it to production machines the following year.
-
Fitting tyres is easy peasy without tubes and two security bolts. Even back in 1981 Bultaco tried self tappers instead of the security bolts. I think for about 3 years on road trials I always carried a tube of Finilec.
-
Alexz is 15 currently, as is Patrick I think. Alexz is 16 in november so will not get a chance to ride Youth wtc till next year.
-
Its certainly late this year for sure as the Gassers are about the same time or later, and in previous years the 290 has been made before the factory shut down. With the fourstroke development and a few other things its no suprise if its later, but radically different then why has caby or grimbo not got it already? Shocks would be good a smaller motor to compete on size with the pro all sound good.
