  1. Jools r u not thinking of the newer renault trafics and vivaro's (vito size) the master and movano are abit big to be putting figures like 11secs!!!! unless someone has stuck nitro V8 in it! And boy would that drink the fuel more than the normal masters/movano
  2. Whats wrong with some yellow duct tape and a marker pen!!! If you want to be posh Sign of the Time can you make you a sticky number plate to stick on you mudguard. www.signofthetime.co.uk Obviously it isn't legal size e.t.c but it a good effort and shows willing!
  3. Personally I think there are only 3 tyres worth using, IRC, Michelin and Dunlop. They all have there own advantages/ disadvantages . IRC are good in the mud but come off the rim easily, if you get a puncher . Michelin and Dunlop are good allround, and Dunlop will NEVER come off the rim when flat (well almost never, I ran a stage of the Scott with a flat and it stayed on rim) So if your doing Novogar rounds I reckon go Dunlop. Or just buy a 4RT and grip wont be a prob so you can use 1 tyre all year!
  4. That could have been because some split out whilst you cartwheeled the mont down the track to Fersit! only joking. I know its wrong day before I get corrected
  5. Im leaving the restictors in the front pipe and the spark arrestor in tail pipe thats what ive been told is best from a pretty reliable source just take out the 40mm washer between cylinder and injection block and the one between front pipe and silncer. Haven't ridden mine much yet but so far im well impressed! well done Mr Honda.
  6. Great Trial, poor observers, especially ones standing in 6" of snow.
  7. I understand your thoughts, and yes it isn't well supported. But very little effort goes in to the master route as its either Championship or Expert, its not as thought another route has to be layed out. I personally think it can't do any harm keeping it in the series, Also upgrading the previous years class winner to the next class should be considered, Its the same story in all championship series specially the British and the Novogar its the same winners all the time. Once they've won it one year they shouldn't be eligible for points the next. Tough job John and you know you won't please everyone, put keep it up you are one of the true ACU officials that think about everyone, and not just Dougie !
  8. I had my large tank painted in Repsol colours for SSDT lasy year, my friend painted it for me at his shop. You can contact him at his web site www.spj-designs.com I know he used 2pack lacquer and baked it on. It has lasted perfect, and has been scratched but the paint isn't peeling or bubbling. Drop Steve a line at SPJ im sure he will help as he was a trials rider before going road racing (junior kick start in 1988) His web site worth a visit anyway, he does lids as well.
  9. I wouldn't say he murdered them ! Knighter was winning until the last lap when his chain snapped and had to push in for 17th. I was riding (in a fashion) and Knighter was the person who stood out as passing me the most amount of time, and in awsome style, Hard luck Knighter but also congrats to Eddy he did still win it! Neither of them won the Friday night p*** up Though!
  10. Im sure top expert riders don't won't it easier as it will make the scores closier. Europe shouldn't be the only place our top lads have to go to loose some marks. Same old story, if you thought it was too hard, don't go back next year and let people who can ride get an entry! sorry truth hurts. As long as the sections aren't dangerous then the clubman can't moan. Ok some parts of sections may appear to look easier if left open to go on the harder route, but then the complaints would be "im riding the same route as Jarvis e.t.c" Well done to the organiser another classic one lap trial continues

    Tank Help!

Aaargh! Don't bother trying to get old tap off. Try and get a tap off a Honda CR 125,250 they will fit straight on, you will also benefit from a larger lever and different positioning of On/Off making it easier to turn on the fuel. If your lucky some taps have a reserve, but not sure which Honda they are off. Good luck finding one.

    Tank Help!

There are brass nuts that are inserted into the tank. Sounds very likely that there are turning in the plastic. Not much chance of getting them out mate apart from butchering it! apply heat to bolts and the plastic will melt allowing tap and nuts to come out but you tank is then ****** Araldite won't fix this one Jim.
  13. Jersey 2 day is usually on remembrance Sunday which I think will be Nov 13th / 14th this year but that not definat. Its a few years since I did it but it was a good social trial
  14. I too have previously owned Gas Gas (who hasn't) and was satisfied with the help from everyone at Shirty's, but I saw the light and bought Mont, firstly you won't need any service from them as there bikes are spot on! Yeh of course there is the normal wear and tear parts, and Sandifords do a great job of getting spares out to you next day, as they seem to carry plenty of stock. It helps by having a proper work shop manual that comes with the bike so you can identify the exact part no. Then when you get used to there service, you will be blown out by the help you will get in Scotland, if they helped any more they'd be riding it for you. I agree Sandifords web site is a little dated but you can get all the details from Trails Central anyway, and I don't think they will have to try and sell the new 4 banger it has already sold itself.
