  1. Andy not getting at you but someone came from the mainland to report it and gave photos and a report to T&MXN but they could'nt be ass't to put it in. I thought that same person was going to post it on trials central but they have'nt, not your fault , and sorry, not having a go at you. It's just that it was a fantasic night and know one will ever know about it.
  2. Due to the lack of intrest in last weeks indoor youth trial, it will not be held next year. I spent weeks organising this event for the stars of the future, and anyone who was there would appreciate that. After the trial it takes about 4 day to remove everything from Brickfields. Yes it made

  4. There will be much to follow but tonights indoor has been discrided as F*****g Amazing Thanks to Steve Saunders again Final ...... Wiggy 3 Danby 7 Crellin 11
  5. Progress at last then. John it would be good if you could come to the IOW this weekend to watch our British A/B round and the British indoor trial. It would be a good chance for you to meet and talk to people at the sharp end of this debate. I will personaly refund your boat fair and sort out <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central> if you can come. It looks to me as if we have two issues here 1 youth training ( domestic ) 2 Help with international events. Best to have two seperate funds and ACU decide how much they wish to spend on each. I know that most people at the British youth championship trials feel that youths who are good for thier age should be helped with training, and not because they are 15 IE Ben Morphet etc. etc. Help with international trials should only come later if the rider has reached a set standard, or scored championship points at internationl level. I think that only the training should be free and not the transport to it, with set venues north & south ( Hookswood & Dod park for example)
  6. Andy you have got it wrong the reason i posted both items was because we could'nt get hold of those riders at the time and not for any other reason. We were not trying to put pressure on anyone but just trying to bend over backwards to get thier entries in if they had forgotten as was the case with Jack Challoner. Your in sport A.S.
  7. have you had a change of heart then?? Unfortunatly Rob Andrews can't make it so i have a new list but i need to hear from those who have'nt already been in touch. I can't decide between Adam Jones & Johnny Richardson so.............................................................................. ............. Bugger it your both in
  8. You all forget one thing and that is value for money, investment & return on capital. If we expect the ACU to help our future stars, then they must give in return. Example. Since Becky, Chris,& George have won their British championships, we have had an increase in new members to the IOWMCC, mainly because of reports of thier sucsses in the local paper. The club has more money coming in and so do the ACU, everyone wins. If you have a super star in your club get it in your local paper, not eveyone reads T&MXN but most will read the local press The best way of riders returning any investment in them by the ACU, would be by passing thier skills on to clubmen at training days F.O.C. The club/ACU could charge for this and get back some of the money they have invested in the rider.
  9. Any help will be welcome as we have more than enough to do this week. We have one section that will weight 0ver 20 tons
  10. Is thier anyone out there coming to the British indoor youth trial this weekend who could help by doing the report & pictures for trials central & T&MXN. We will be working flat out this week putting it all together, and at the beginning of next week taking it apart. Any help would be much welcome thanks A.S.
  11. Well done john respect to you, if all this had been said before maybe some of the missinformed comments would'nt have been made. Just think if this ACU British championship unification thing gets off the ground we could have a fourm on the Saturday evenings and everyone would be there.
  12. The trouble with going this far is that the main class would attract all the attention, and all the others would be pushed to the side, it would also be a nightmare for a clerk of course to orgainise all the different routes. The three class and three course system works well at the world championships so that is the sort of event we should be aimimg for. The only problem is the high number of B class youth riders, and that is why they would have to ride on the Saturday. Another idea would be to have a one lap qualifiying round the day before and then the top twenty youth riders from each class would get a ride in the main championship the following day. Another advantage of having say 6 major trials like this is that the organisers may find it eaiser to get thier events sponsorship.
  13. Just to let you know that the IOWMCC would be intrested in running a British championship trial inc youth class at Cheverton chalk pit in June 2007.
  14. Thanks for that John, i think that at the end of the day we all want the same thing, but have different views on how to get them. Just hope you could put a short reply to my proposal in the Youth section. Having both aired are views, i hope we can now put our heads together for the benifit of trials in the future.
  15. RE Dabster WHY! If say you worked for the ACU, and you were trying to sell the sport of motorcycle trials to a TV company, or promoting the sport at a county show etc. Would it go down well if you said, ( O no we don't cater for Ladies, they only do that abroad ) Why do Honda bother with Lia Sanz ? Any way, lets not get away from the subjet, IE Youth & Adult British championships on same weekend.
  16. We don't want to loose our ladies championship because we have some of the best female riders in the world in this country, in fact Becky Cook is ranked higher than D lampkin in this years world championships. We need to look after our ladies like they were our sisters doing well, and we should give them more respect for what they do.
  17. Yes i was'nt going to have any B class riders in this year, because they will get a chance when they move up to A class. Their was several good A class riders who should have been in last years event that did'nt get a ride, ie Mr G Rodinson etc. and for that i will always be sorry. But Ben Morpet is an exceptional talent, with future world class writen all over him, and as i believe youth riders in this country should be graded by ability and not age, i think that he deserves a chance. Don't forget that he has also competed in the European championships this year, finishing as high as eighth in one round.
  18. You can only have one set of rules on any day so the youth's would ride to the same rules as the adults.
  19. Donna Fox for her chat, Maria Conway for her cheek, Becky Cook for her talent, and all three of them for winning the TDN for Brition.
  20. I notice that some of the Spainish trial championship rounds have youth and Adults on the same weekend, so why can't we do that in this country? Some of the top youth riders ride in the Expert class anyway so nothing would be any different. You could also put some of the C/D and ladies rounds together on the same weekends. The whole British championship weekends would be much bigger events with say the B class lads riding on the Saturday, and then the A class doing the same sections as the Experts on the sunday, i know you could'nt do it at every round but i'm sure it would work at some. After all the Spainish do it that way and it has'nt done thier riders any harm. Your thoughts.
  21. Here is a list of the riders who have been invited to ride in this years British indoor youth trial on the IOW on Saturday Oct 14. Could all riders Email me to except thier entries, at Alnstay@aol.com. Alexz Wigg, Ross Danby, Jack Challoner, Rob Andrews, Nigel Crellin, Miles Jones, Ben Morphet.
  22. Just got back from Spain today so chance to defened myself in respect of John Collins comments. First the Ladies British championship is in danger of collapsing due to a lack of support, and the ACU forum had been set at a time when all the main players in this championship were in Spain( as i was) at the European Championship in Repoll. I have no vested intrest in the Ladies championship myself but belive that as Becky Cook, who is ladies British champion comes from the IOW as i do, then i should give her all the support i can when ever i can. As i believe that as European champions, the ACU should support Jack Challoner & Alexz Wigg when ever they can. As regard to my other comments, the people who travel to the European & world championship rounds, see the french Italian & Spanish riders sat outside of their federation trucks, while all the UK riders camp in their tents and vans, hearing storeys ( which maybe untrue ) of the ACU sending Road race academy riders to Spain to train. For god sake John, don't ever take my comments as being directed at you, we all know that you care and do more than your fair share of work for the benifit of us all, but please be aware that the ACU needs to do somethink to improve its image amoungst its UK trials members. And finaly regarding comments about what i have ever done for trials etc. Someone who was very close to me died of cancer some years ago, and since that sad time i, with the help of other members of the IOWMCC have raised over
  23. Just be aware That bike is far from "Standard". Just like the rider then, anyway how do you know?
