  1. I know a local who went down to watch likened the sections to Expert A national sections. Lets hope so
  2. Is it not up to the riders to raise their game, had Morphet, & Sheppard, who could still ride as youth A or Sadler been there one of then would have lost around 20 marks. As its a British championship trial it should be a fairly tough standard, the recent weather made the course slippery, but most sections were ridden for a clean or one at some stage in the trial so i don,t think the C of course should lower his standards instead maybe the riders should raise theirs, the trial was there to test the best in the country and it did just that, in fact i think it was the best trial i,ve seen at Bracken for a long time.
  3. If trials had more exposure on the TV things would be different i,am sure, the trouble is that everyone wants to over complicate things. All we need to look at is what worked in the past? The answer is simple, KICKSTART or junior KICKSTART, its the one thing that everyone still talks about to this day, it was simple a timed course with sections where marks were added on for getting it wrong, everyone including the man in the street understood what was happening and it worked. If the indoor series went down this road it would attract more viewers everyone would know whats happening and from this the sport would attract a wider audiance. Bring back Peter Purvis i say.
  4. What we need is the man in the street to say, wow did you see eurosport last night those guys on thier motorbikes were amazing. We need to show the skill involved in riding the things these top riders can do. How come a golf player can pace up & down thinking about a shot and in an open & millions are whatching at home. Trials should be on the same par and i think it needs someone to get it there.
  5. It still sucks, it suppost to be a trial not a F in enduro. Should be three laps highest scores drop out after each lap, simple, and thats what we call trials incase the FIM have forgot.
  6. Having been to Sheffield before we knew what to expect of the top trial riders, but the reason we drove 250mile there a back was to see ( no disrespect to the trials riders) was to see Danny Mac. It was a shame he could,nt ride but some one from the push bike trials world could have took his place. Intresting to know when he found out that he could,nt ride as some people may have paid on the night just to see him. PS. it was still a bloody good night well done Dids & Bou is in a diiferent class at the moment.
  7. Brilliant, i love it, youth trials down to a tee.
  8. Maybe you would like to re do your calculations based from the centre of the IOW, this i have done and it comes out at exactly 3932miles if you add on ferry charges to the fuel required to do this mileage it comes out @
  9. Well there you go the 2010 dates are out and it looks as if several of the top runners wont be taking part in the A/B championship, mainly because of the increased mileage and cost of competing in the series. So next year it will be down to who can aford the time & money as apposed to who is the best rider. Will there ever be a year when we don,t go to Bracken rocks?
  10. A class J Maude 21 C Short 22, J Brain 34 J Coles 34, J Evans Luter 36 B class L Walker 8 furthest one C Stay 8 T Dexter 14 R Waite 23 B Cox 24. B Championship..... Gosden Stay Walker Dexter Welsh
  11. If you read the original post, Wales is fine and have always put on bloody good trials year in year out, and have aways been fair with their marking, with well informed observers. Just one more thing,, correct me if i,am wrong but i think the ACU fourm was held on the same weekend as the British youth championships in Northumberland where most people with an interest in the youth championships would have been.
  12. So why is it so wrong to express your views on this forum, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, we are just pointing out how it is from where we live, and how difficult it can be to get home in a reasonable time on a Sunday evening after a trial, but to be honest the IOM riders are in an even worst position. If we are not carefull we could get into a situation with some B championships going to the one that can afford it rather than the best riders, in fact this has already happened to some extent in the youth A class. All we are asking for is a resonable spread of rounds around the country, why is this so unresonable.
  13. Lots of work going on with both these trials Ladies course is aready up and work taking place all week on the youth course. Expect more news through the week, but the ladies course looks realy good with some big interesting sections which the C of course has spent about 6 weeks planning.
  14. Well done Becky fifth place fantastic result, must be all that practise with the lads pushing you on.
  15. Your getting into another subject there. We have lived on this Island all our lives right back to great grand parents and beyond, we have jobs and work here so we are stuck with it. On Sunday evening after 8pm some ferry companys run every three hours, so as was the case after Scarbrough we miss the 10pm boat the next one was at 1am in the morning, this would have meant not getting home untill around 3am. So we had to change from Red Funnel to Wightlink to get the Midnight sailing at more expence. ( total ferry cost
  16. And as someone who has put more back into trials than you will ever know, i say up yours.
  17. Was out marking sections for next weeks Ladies round today when the subject of next years A/B championship came around, and how living on an Island makes traveling to these event more expensive and time consuming than other competitors. For example last weekend my van clocked up 639 miles going to Scarbrough and back, they left there at 5pm after the trial, 7 hours later they only just got the midnight ferry arriving home about 2am in the morning, both lads were knackered and missed school on monday. Back in August we had to go to Northumberland another 800 mile round trip and late night home for the lads, as living on an Island August is the worst time to travel on the ferries. When the ACU starts planning next years rounds could they please consider not having so many of then so far away so often, its OK for the ACU steward who get paid by the mile for traveling but it gets a bit much for your average hard working parent in these tough economic times. To have a round up north ( Scarbrough ) is fine but this year we have had for us down south Scarbrough, Northumberland , Bracken rocks twice, and to top it all the Isle of man, after which we got home at 6am in the morning. A more central based championship with a few exceptions ( No one wants to have a round a cheadle ) would be fair to eveyone. And would it be possible for the youth competitors and there for the customers of the ACU to have a say in which clubs do and don't get rounds next year, as we have been to Bracken rocks to many times, and know one wants to ride at Cheadle, and the general feeling is that both these clubs only get rounds because they have ACU committe members conected with them. The Richmond Mintex time trial was well attended as everyone knows they put on good trials, as do the Welsh, West of England , and Kent clubs, infact there must be plenty of clubs out there who can put on a good trial, instead of forcing us to ride the same old cr-p at Cheadle & Bracken. I,am sorry if this seems a bit over the top but its only what most of the competitors at national youth events are saying week in week out.
  18. I thought that was sort of " i was wrong"
  19. Glad i was wrong, well done ladies.
  20. You forgot to mention that Mr Gosden has now won the B class championship,, well done George. And Chris Stay has ridden all year without a minder, an arrangement that was agreed with by JST. So well done Chris it,s all down to you. After taking worst rides away the championship looks like this Gosden 109 Stay 99 Walker 95 Dexter 88.
  21. Well worth front page of T&MXN but i bet it won't happen. Motocross comes first it seems.
  22. You maybe right, these results came via phone from trial.
