  1. I thought China had the biggest population and therefore was the most widely spoken language in the world so manybe all their press releases should be in chiness.
  2. How do you know all this then? So do you know what the top British youth riders will be on this year then?
  3. The second round of the UEM youth/ladies trials championship is in Lazzate in Italy but where exactly is the start of the trial? We have booked a hotel near lake Como which is 20miles from Lazzate so we just hope the start is in that area.
  4. Bad news Andy, some dates will change Y.M.S.A. trial on Sept 9 clashes with IOW British A/B championship round. etc.

    Sherco Throttle

Shouldn't this be front page youth news Alan? Maybe i don't realy know, AG IOW is the only one i know who knows how to put stuff on the front page. I thought most people new this anyway. He may post something soon as i know he has some important other news around the corner.
  6. Yes good for Sherco to, intresting to note that Raga has won the world indoor & outdoor titles in 06 but has'nt won any Spainnish titles. With Bou the outdoor champion & Cabestany now winning indoors Just shows the depth of talent the Spainish have, and how far our young riders need to go to catch them.
  7. I see that Irs Kramer has moved to Scorpa, so this must mean that Becky Cook is now the no1 female Gas Gas rider in the world. I wonder if she will be on the same deal as Raga, i think not but it would be nice if she got a tenth of what he gets.

    Sherco Throttle

My son rides for MRS Sherco now and we have carried out several mods to engine etc to smooth it out, but you do need the black (twist grip part) slow action throttle for sure.
  9. How come so many youth B class riders got a ride, i thought it was youth A only. Our Josh Stephen from IOW would have liked to have ridden but did,nt enter as he thought it was youth A only. Maybe next year they could allow B class youths to ride the clubman route, and Youth A only on the main route.
  10. It's the mix that is more important than the oil. :agree:
  11. So if Sheffield indoor was shown live on BBC one, on a Saturday evening what would happen. Would'nt riders find it easier to get sponsored, because evenyone would know what trials was. If you ask most people to sponsor someone today they say (how may race's have you won)
  12. Yes i agree, so over to John Collins for his view.
  13. Get the media intrested (Joe Public) and all your problems will be solved, problem is getting the media intrested. Untill someone can think of a way to get more trials on the TV etc, McDonalds, Pepsie, etc an't going to be intrested in putting any money into the sport.
  14. Funnily enough you got the date, 9th September, which Richmond wanted. We also are stuck for certain dates on which we can use land due to lambing & grass cutting dates etc. Thats interesting, so would Richmound like to swap it's C/D round date with IOW A/B date, seems everyone would be happier then Maybe we could make a joint appeal to the ACU. Have also noticed that Abergavenny Date will clash with Y.M.S.A. 3 day again, as Richmound did last year, so hope they can sort that one out soon.
  15. So how come some clubs have A/B rounds every year
  16. Can't understand why there is a four month gap in the A/B championship calender, best part of the British youth trials scene is the social side, camping the night before, a few drinks and a few laughs . Great in the summer but not so much fun in Feb March Sept & October IOW wanted a late June date so they could use their best bit of land on the Island but was refused without reason Its also a crime that Richmond hav'nt been given an A/B round while others with a less than perfect reputation have.
  17. This a great step in the right direction and will no dought help clubs to keep those riders who have a go, and then find trials a bit to hard for them and drift away. It seems that all the suggestions at the start of this topic have been implemented, we now all have a voice in the ACU ie John Collins so with people power Via this fourm British trials looks like haveing a bright future. Some times it takes a prat like me to say or do something stuped to get things done, but there is usually a method i our maddness
  18. Coming from the IOW we try to get as many bikes & people in one van as we can, this makes it cheeper to travel, but mainland people don't seem to do this for some reason. It's much better for the kids on long trips if they have a friend to travel with as well. I know that in the 70's the top Yorkshire riders used to travel to Europe together. Its a lot more fun but the down side of this of course is when someone (AG IOW) farts in the van at night.
  19. So having attended the one day course, what would be my next step to abtain a coaching licence for club/centre level. and at what cost. And thanks for taking the time to reply to this post
  20. The one day course covered most of this, i just think it would be better if you could start as a club coach, and then after a year or two you could apply to become a centre coach, and then after a further year or two move up to national coach, and then international coach. This would make it easer for clubs to get someone to help the grass routes riders who are the back bone of trials in the UK. The ACU could still have courses for each level so that only the most experianced trainers could reach the top level.
  21. In Feb 2005 i attended a one day ACU coaching course in Devon at my own expence, the course had nothing to do with how you rode a trials bike but more of the H.S.A, child protection, and legal side of things which was all very intresting. Next i get a little book in the post which requires that you spend 25hrs with an experianced trainer and then i can apply to become a ACU coach, now if i lived in yorkshire fine, but as i don't think there are any ACU coaches in the Southern centre, let alone on the IOW i'am a bit stuffed. So i wrote to the ACU explaning this and there reply was that i could attend a 2 day professional coaching course @ a cost of
  22. At last years (2005) C/D round in Richmond the Hancock family drove up from Bodmin via the M5, M6, etc. I think i'am right in saying that it took them about 11 hrs. Which is about the same time it takes to get down to southern France.
  23. The man from the IOW will drive approx 2600 miles and the man from Newcastle will drive 50% more!! Are you sure they're not Southern biased? But you forget the
