  1. Maybe you should read the from page reports on this web site!
  2. Do any of you ever think that anyone will ever give Becky Cook any credit for what she has achived and the sheer effort and time that she puts into her riding. I can see the time coming soon when she will say sod this for a lark and go back to riding horses full time, at least she was getting paid for doing that.
  3. Always try before you buy and don't be lead by what other people say, go to a test day and have a go before you decide. The Sherco, Beta, & Gas Gas are all good it's just down to what suits you sir, and if you have plenty of cash this montesa is a great bike too, and great fun to ride. Think twice Act once.
  4. Today i got up at 2.30am, got the 3.30 am ferry to the mainland, drove 250 miles to JST at Buxton arriving at 7.55 am to pick up new GG125. Left at 9.20am drove 250 miles back to catch 1pm ferry home, and arrived at 2.30pm. While i did some last min Xmas shopping AGIOW put the new bike together and it's now up and running ready for a steady Boxing day trial. Tonight and tomorrow i'am on call for any breakdowns for our garage, i don't know if i'am mad, bad, or just sad, all i know its that i feel a bit knackard right now. All for the love of trials Merry Xmas evryone ASiow
  5. All this confusion has come about by someone jumping the gun a bit, an agreement was reached with JST on Tuesday dinner time, and the next thing i know its anounced on trials central on Wednesday before i had a chance to tell anyone myself. This has left me a bit red faced and imbarested as the first people to know should have been MRS. I have since informed then of the situation and thanked then for all they have done, as they ( DO ) look after thier riders and have been brilliant
  6. Is there someone in the Beta team that thinks that become a top rider you must brake a bone before you can be a champion ( re: Jack Sheppard ) or has Steve Saunders been pushing you all too hard. Still best time of year to brake a bone i think. Get well soon son.
  7. After a year best forgotten, Chris has finally had the tonsils removed today that have been making him ill about once every three weeks this year. After a good start to the year he has been plagued with illness and the surgen said his tonsils were very strong and definatly needed to come out. Two weeks rest now and then after a winters training back for a full and hopfully unrestricted attack on the B class next year. Thanks to all our friends and please tell Joel Edwards ( D class champion 2003 ) to keep riding as we started in this together and he is as much apart of the British youth trials scene as anyone else. I Know its been a tough year but please don't give up as i'am sure your time will come again.
  8. No mention of number of sections or laps but does say time limit 4 1/2 hours. Let's hope the weather plays ball. I think the time limit is going to create problems when you add on at least another 10 entries taking it to over 50, some A/B rounds have had nearly 100 riders in the past, so if everyone turns up there will be some fireworks. I sent entry off about two weeks ago and we arn't on the list there must be others. I can see some trouble coming Sunday especialy in the queing at sections, bad tempers, people falling out, it's going to be like world war three. It's about time the ACU introduced a standard time for these B/championship events like 5.5hrs.
  9. Think we all know who's going to win it though dont we. It's not the winning it's the taking part that counts, in a few years time when the likes of Mr Brown, Wigg, Haslam, Danby, Challoner, Sampson, etc, etc, are riding in the TDN will all the Spainish be saying "Think we know who's going to win." only time will tell.
  10. Your comments are very valid John and its good to know that we have someone who listens, i now hope that other fourm users take the time to express thier opinion on this subject.
  11. Bloody post strike again i suppose
  12. It sounds as if no matter what the riders want the ACU will never let the Youth A/B championships join the main Adult championships. There seems to be lots of reasons why not, but no mention of the advantages. The freeing up of dates is the first one, and then there's the fact that these championship rounds would become much bigger events. If you think the number of riders would be to high just combine the A class championship useing the excisting adult expert sections, and run the B class back with the C/D class trials. It's been said that British youth championship rounds will be rotated and are not set in stone, so to be fair this should apply to the adult series, and if a new youth A class was included in the main British championship only those clubs who felt that they could organise such events would apply to run them, it dos,nt seem fair to say that just because certain clubs would'nt be able to run this type of trial then no one is even aloud to try and see if it would work. Why not just have one of the A class rounds in 2008 in one of the main championship rounds next year, and run one of the B class rounds with a C/D class next year, i'am sure there are clubs out there who are more than willing to give it a go. If it works great, but if it do'nt the we will all shut up and admit that we were wrong. We must move with the times or get left behind, (mainly by the Spainish)
  13. Please also note that it is extreamly difficult to travel around the country on bank holiday weekends, even more so if you have to travel by ferry as they are always booked up and offer no discounts on these dates. I think that if the A/B championship was intergrated into the main adult championship it would free up 8 of the 52 weekends, and help the lads learn by riding alongside the top riders like they do in Spain.
  14. Cast your mind back to Ripoll Spain in 2006 the night before the trial in the bar where the trial started, Jack had gone to bed and we all had one to many drinks! So now everything we said has all come true. Well done, best of luck, now the rest is up to you. ( See you on the road)
  15. Lots of venues around Matlock so why not change to another one?
  16. Would be interested to know why less than 40 riders entered this trial, is it a sign of the times or are we doing something wrong. Do riders plan to miss the IOW round because they think it will be to expensive? About five people spent every evening last week and most of Saturday setting out this trial, trying to put on a good one, but when only around 37 take part you have to say was it worth it? I also notice that some of those who did'nt enter have ridden in Europe this year, i believe the club may have a round next year, but why should we bother? Would people sooner ride at Cheadle? Please let use know because we don't.
  17. Full results now on clubs web site IOWMCC.com
  18. Anyone traveling to this weekends A/B national on the IOW can either park at Brickfields near Ryde overnight or at my place near Parkhurst, where you can also go practising if you wish. You will need to phone me on 01983 522443 day time or 01983 528115 evenings for further instructions. hope this helps.
  19. Yes great weekend for everyone, but you missed out the wheelie competition which was great fun and won for the second year running by Chris Stay who just got the better of Iwan Roberts by about 5 meters, both lads wheelied for over 100 meters well done to everyone who took part.
  20. You can get some good <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central> and car ferries deals on Red Funnel ferries web site.
  21. No camping at the venue partly due to the all night music next door, but will be sorting this out in the next few days, a'm trying to sort out a camping venue where you can practise, you maybe able to camp at Brickfields as well.
  22. The IOW A/B round on Sept 9th will now be held at Duxmore quarry which is between Havenstreet and Arreton and next to Robin hill country park where about 20 thousand hippies will be raving it up all weekend, so this trial will probably have a musical back ground. Duxmore is one of the best venues on the Island and will have some mega sections. BAD NEWS at the time of posting this the sec of meeting has recieved no entries? More to follow.
  23. I feel soory for the Mighty Atom, only one chance to have a go at the worlds best instead of two this year, and only one chance to see what he'l be up against next year.
