  1. Yes 5+5+5+5 often means, Well i lost between 12 & 15 today.
  2. personaly i feel a universal beneficence towards those who need consolation over their affliction. And with humility and resignation we offer baneful and malignant passion towards those who cannot contemplate the intellectual truth over the intricate and peculiar development of our prosecution within. Enyway thats wot i fink
  3. How about i have a go on the Beta 80 again this year at so much a fuel stop for the charity. I am completly nuts of course, but if it's for charity what the hell.
  4. Just go's to show you can't trust those bloody Europeans, anyway i've just heard that Gas Gas were very pleased with the coverage shown.
  5. There is no such thing as a local T&MXN guy, the only one in the country is Barry Robinson and he lives in Yorkshire. Which means more work for the organisers, as T&MXN are not realy intrested in trials south of Sheffield.
  6. We will soon start planing the final round of the British youth trials championship, and with it the indoor trial. I organised last years indoor all by myself from start to finish, and would not do it again unless it became a team effort. If there is enough intrest the IOWMCC may run it again, but we would like the opinion of everyone who attended last years event first. How many people would come to the Island if the indoor was run later in the year? One problem we found last year was that it used up people who should have been helping with the main trial on the Saturday, please let us know what you think and how important it was to the whole weekend etc etc.
  7. Is it at the same venue as last year?
  8. Montesa = wild and is also a village in Spain which i drove past on the way to the 2005 TDN. I know were it is, but i just can't find it
  9. Last years opening round was excellent, it would be a good idea to have a go at the Y.M.S.A. national on March 12 just to get a guide as to the standard of riding. If you hav'nt been to a national before it can be a bit of a shock at first.

    Chris Stay

George Gosden 125 GG & Chris 80 Beta are sponsored by Repsol oils through Steve Saunders via SXS, as top C class runners for 2006. But as Steve is riding Beta, i think the JLI team may be using Repsol in time, but do'nt jump to conclusions. Best to wait and see.

    Chris Stay

Yes but he's now on a 06 JLI Repsol Beta rev 80, which has been modified and has the Repsol orange wheels. Hand now repaired and spent some time training with Sam Conner over Christmas week

    Who's In

Why are both Hemingways entered on Beta's? or is this a mistake.
  13. Out practising today with Becky Cook (British champion) on her GG 250 and 3 local lads who all ride in the British youth championships (no mug's). Ended up in our copse riding through a stream along the side and then blasting into a clay rut and up the most gripless climb that god ever made,(hard to even stand up on ) with a step at the top, third gear stuff. All spent about hour & half at this one and here are the results. Becky all or nothing but when she made it she did a steeper part at the top and made that GG grip for England, Becky is bloody good at finding grip. Sam Ryan Youth B Gas Gas 125. rode it slower than the rest used the throttle well several cleans but also fell off near the top and slid all the way to the bottom more than once through lack of speed. Josh Stephens Youth B new 06 125 Sherco, Brilliant all day can make the bike talk untill he hit the climb, cleaned it several times but struggled like hell to get past halfway up the climb on most attempts. Chris Stay. Youth C New 06 JLI Beta 80. Small lad. Feet down on the turn onto the climb & could'nt get past halfway for first 20 minutes, but after first clean and about 40 minutes could clean it every time. even cocky enough to give it the look back on several attempts. Not much good for an adult but the Beta did seem to have the edge on grip today. :madsanta:
  14. Just read that Taddy will ride Scorpa in the British championship, now that should put the cat amoungst the pigeons :madsanta:

    Sheffield

Did the general public not have a vote on who would be at Sheffield two years ago? Have things change since then :madsanta:
  16. Thank god for that, common sence at last, can we all put our entries in now? Hope the trial is in the same venue as last years C/D national. Merry xmas to all at the Richmond club :madsanta:
  17. I own 4 cats, but not one of them has ever offered to do the washing up, if that helps :madsanta:

  19. Maybe now Steve has joined force's with JLI there could be a JLI SXS BETA youth team, i think there is sort of anyway, but it would be cool if it was offical. :santa1: I think there could be some adult riders to sign up yet.

    Saunders On A Beta

Yes Steve in Silsden today collecting his & Chris,s 06 Beta,s from John Lampkin :madsanta: , but you are all jumping on this one before the ink has dried. Will be more to this than just the Repsol tie up. :hat: By the way, know one seems to have noticed that Tony Bou has beaten Raga at two indoor trials recently , and must now be in with a chance of winning the world indoor championship :santawink: . BETA
  22. No but the ACU did help us when Alfredo rode in the British youth trial on the IOW :santa1:
  23. All this training talk is OK but at the end of the day the kid must want to do it, and giving them too much too soom can make them complacent. What's the most dangerous animal? a hungery lion, or the one thats just eaten half a wilderbeast. Create desire and make a champion. Alexz Wigg left out of the British 05 GP, so now he's hungery, look out in 06, see him eat up the opposition now. :madsanta:
  24. please tell me.. At what age do the youth riders have to move out of the academy training ? At what age do the Girl riders have to move out of the academy training ? Should there be a cut off age limit, so that the time and money could be spent further down the line on those who have a real chance of a bright future in the sport? for example from youth B to last year in youth A :hat:
