  2. What’s the best gearing for the 93 Climber? I have 10 front and 42 rear.
  3. Today
  4. Anyone have a parts manual to the 92,93,94 Climbers? I have the 89 manual but there is some differences. Thanks
  5. I couldn’t find any when I last looked. Most trials pants don’t even have pockets. I got some MX pants instead and have been very happy with them. They don’t have built in pads but do allow room for knee and shin pads. They also have leather patches at the knees to prevent burns from the exhaust. As far as hip pads go, you’d likely have to buy shorts with padding sewn in and wear them under your pants. They make them for mountain bikers and other active sports. There are both summer lightweight MX pants and fall/spring pants. There’s a much wider selection of MX pants out there than there are trial specific ones. Bonne chance! P.S. - If you do buy padded shorts or separate pads I’d recommend D30 type non-Newtonian liquid pads and not just foam. https://www.d3o.com/partners/solutions/ https://g-form.com/collections/baseball/products/elite-sliding-shorts
  6. Hi everyone😁 are there any trials pants which have knee and hip armour or pockets to add your own? ithe hebo tech 2025 look good with there level 11 knee armour but no hip armour as far as know. basically im looking at a very lightweight summer pants to do my local green lanes and trials practicing. cheers in advance👍👍
  7. I think you want something with a 6-speed. Here are overall ratios for two "obsolete" bikes. OSSA TRi 36.93, 29.99, 24.78, 20.73, 14.2, 8.45 Aprilia Climber 37.81, 29.65, 21.5, 15.45, 12.18, 8.45 Plus, one current bike (but it uses GG's 4/6 system and shifting will be more clunky than a true 6-speed). GagGas Pro (all) 31.77, 27.27, 23.19, 19.91, 11.93, 8.7 Here's the Montesa 4RT for reference 36.36, 30.97, 25.97, 16.53, 10.58
  8. TRS are first three close together & big gaps from 3-4 & 4-5. So big I had to put a 56 on the rear of my 125RR so I could actually use those gears on more open higher speed single & double track.
  9. Thanks for the responses. Just to be clear, I don't expect to ride a trials bike like an enduro bike, I'm just looking for advice on the spread of gear ratios. Apart from the 321 TXT, can anybody advise which bikes maybe have 4 section gears rather than three? I believe perhaps the TRS?
  10. With the Jitsie electric start kit, the bank angle sensor assembly is removed. I'm not sure that is a good idea but assume it was done to make space for other components. I have seen no formal description of what the sensor assembly does but it likely cuts power to the fuel pump when the bike is on its side. I guess is could cut power to the whole FI system.
  11. Thanks however I am more interested in originality
  12. Not an ossa expert but from a practical point of view I always find it easier to keep gloss black barrels clean than matt ones. The latter kind of get stained with mud
  13. An update: I took all of the right rife off again and reassembled. I took off 3 washers, but can only get 2 washers back on. I have no idea what washer is what PN, but no matter how I ordered things, I couldn't get a 3 washers back on the shaft for the snap ring to fit. If I left off the thinnest one (1 mm thick), I could get it to assemble. So that's where I am going forward. Still hopping someone might have this side apart and might help identify what washer is what PN. As I moved on to attach the clutch side cover, I found that the kick starter was binding up when I fully tightened all the screws, especially those near this shaft. The seal was binding. I took the cover back off looking for clues as to why. I was guessing the cover might have a slight warpage, so I took some marker to the edge and moved it on a flat piece of metal. This showed a slight warp, so I taped down sandpaper to the metal and sanded to make it even. It took a lot of sanding, but eventually got this even. I then found this had NO EFFECT. I've tried tightening things in different sequences, but nothing changes. Anyone with any experience having this happen? I've had this cover off multiple times prior without incident, what changed. When the cover screws are fully tightened, the starter shaft is binding so bad that it is very difficult to kick through.

  15. Thanks Konrad, I ended up removing cap and extending the fork as it just did not seem right to be do different in length. Fitted to the bike and felt fine on ride today. 👍
  16. Unlikely the lubricant is the source of your clutch slip problems, you should have been making measurements of the plates and whole friction plate pack once assembled as well as the spring lengths. Obtaining a service manual is the best place to start if you don't already have one.
  17. I replaced the friction plates on my KT250, reassembled. I have freeplay at the pushrod, but after the engine warms up the clutch slips in higher gears and there isn’t enough “pull” at the lever to disengage the clutch. I did use a semisynthetic motor oil. Would ATF be a better option?
  18. Viva Montesa 👍 Competition gearing preference is close ratio gearbox like an MX bike where enduro and dual sport typically used wide ratio gearbox. CR vs WR and once you ride both you will quickly develop a preference.
  19. Hello, Are there companies making a racing wire loom? I know future used to make a very minimalistic wire loom for 4rt's but they are no longer doing that ? What can be taken off the bike ? i have seen some monts where a lot of those rubber tubes and catch tank and other stuff have been taken off so you get some space to work on the engine . I have seen smaller HT coils and smaller condensors beeing used to
  20. oil gets to the filter so that is no problem. I have been told by a mate who had 2 '4 rt's his first one was very quit and the second one was noisy from the start. Enine got checked over and there was no issue and his bike ran perfect for over 5 years. Maybe some engines are just a bit more noisy ?
  21. i have the reiger now for a month or 8 and i must say it transformed the bike. Back hops a lot easier and grip has improved too, bike still is very stable but it feels like its a lot lighter. weight difference is 800g between shocks.
  22. is someone builde a racing wire loom? i tought future did that long ago but they are not there anymore ?
  23. Welcome. Fire away with the questions mate, I'm sure you will get some help.
  24. He looks like Toni Bou. But if it was he'd just leap the bike up a tree and wait.
  25. Should the head and barrel be black and if so gloss or matt?
  26. Just been given an Ossa 250 MAR to do some jobs on for a pal of mine. Looking forward to this project and am sure will have a ton of question so will apologise in advance for being a pest 🤣
  27. Last week
  28. Fully extended. The air trapped inside acts as a spring. Although the pressure would probably eventually equalize itself either way. Longer travel forks often have bleed-screws to release excess air pressure when the forks are fully extended.
