  5. I have not been on a 260 but currently ride a Beta 300 4t and a 2018 Montesa 300. I find the Beta much easier to ride. The Montesa has much quicker engine response and initially can be a real handful to ride. It took me a long time to get comfortable on it and I still greatly prefer the Beta. I have been told that many people prefer the 260 for that reason. I did have a Beta 300 2t in the past and it had smooth power delivery in the lower rpm range. However, it really took off after the middle of the rpm range. If it was that upper rpm surge you did not like, you may really like the Beta 4t. The power curve feels quite flat and even fluffy on top compared to the 2t. You can be much less precise with the throttle. NOTE: I have the standard muffler. I have heard that the factory muffler or an aftermarket muffler can really enhance the power. The tech fork on the Montesa is quite nice and it has a much better rear brake than the Beta.
  6. Radiator stripped and painted, then refilled with coolant. Airbox cleaned, new filter and intake manifold installed. Created a replica of the CDI bracket.
  7. I love my Beta`s, but recommending the 4 stroke as super smooth over the 2 stroke is quite funny. I have many hours working on the 4T. Ny son had a real good running 300 4T with all the upgrades. When he went for a new bike I forced (invited him) to buy a Montesa. He has loved it ever since..

  9. I have a 2018 scorpa 300 factory that I bought In Colorado got it home to Oklahoma change the jets it runs great but the cooling fan is not working and I have no idea why any help would be appreciated
  10. The Beta 4 stroke is super smooth if you are going with a 4 stroke, might be a better option than the Montesa if you thought the 2 stroke was a handful.
  11. The Beta is the easiest bike to learn on, but not a 300. If you need a 4 stroke buy the 260. The 301 is too quick.
  12. Hey. Sure this has been asked before. 260 vs 301 for novice rider? Im 3 months into trials and the beta 300 i bought is a real handful. A mate wanted it off me, so got my money back on it. I ride most weekends but just havnt hit it off with the beta. Ive been riding bikes for years, im just new to trials. I've always had 4 strokes in whatever sport ive ridden in and id like to try a 4rt before I have to buy another 2t. Cheers

  14. Carburetor cleaned and new float bowl gasket installed.Rear brake hose routing corrected. New gearbox output sprocket.
  15. Looking for a new fuel pump. The OEM one is super expensive, around $600 for part number 16700-NN4-J10 Found this one on ebay that looks like it should fit. Anyone know if it would work? https://www.ebay.com/itm/174253542570
  16. I've now pulled the pump completely out of the assembly and connected 12v directly to the terminals on the pump. No noise, no pumping, nothing. I've never had a fuel pump fail like this before. Usually they get weak and can't pump the required volume or pressure, or there's a physical crack or something on it. This one looks almost brand new and is acting completely dead.
  17. I have a 2015 4RT that I bought used in 2020. I've never had an issue with this bike, but it recently sat in my garage for about 6 months without being ran. It ran fine when last put away. I replaced the fuel with fresh non-ethanol fuel and tried to start it with no luck. It will start and run when spraying starting fluid down the air boot, so to me that points to a fuel issue. I unplugged the fuel pump connector from the bottom of the tank and connected 12v to it. Nothing happened. No pump sounds. No fuel out the disconnected fuel line. Is there something that would cause the fuel pump not to pump when directly connected to 12v power, other than a completely dead pump? I haven't pulled the pump out of the tank yet to inspect, but find it odd for a pump to fail while sitting in a temperature controlled garage for 6 months.

  19. how did you get on,was there a step or did they push out the other side ok
  20. Yes, Pennsylvania. I started it, shut it off, and bought it. Rolling it into the garage, it was clicking. I figured it was that obnoxious rear tire contacting something. That chain guide may be the cause. Thanks.
  21. Hello, my advice would be to put your chain slipper pad on the right way up. I'm guessing you are in the u.s.a . Best wishes Alan.
  22. That jet block gasket is a commonly overlooked issue on carbs. Was your old one already flat even being a 2018? I saw a trick where you flip the carb upside down, fill it with fuel, and blow compressed air in the pilot jet and watch for air bubbles in the fuel to identify a jet block leak.
  23. News bearings (wheels, links, steering), new bolts, new fittings, shiny machining the wheels axles. I'm waiting for new spokes nuts to finish the original rear wheel. as you can see, the fitting of the rear brake hose is not right and must be reversed
  24. Hi, I know this is probably a bit of a long shot but I'm currently starting on my own project bike. It's very complete but I was wondering if you still had your old top end for sale?
  25. Check out this Scorpa reference page on The Hell Team TECH SUPPORT page. Heaps of Scorpa SY YAMAHA info. LINK
  26. I just picked up a 2003 (?) SY250 on FB. It's the newest trials bike i've owned, and i'm pretty excited about it. There were a couple mid-70's TY's in the mix, so i dig the fact this bike has a Yamaha motor. What i need, though, is a manual or something to familiarize myself with this machine. I've struck out on the web. I'm grateful for any advice.
