OK here is the long story: Got a TY80 from a relative, was told it was running before gas all evaporated out of tank and tank rusted up. First did a Kreem kit on the tank (looks spiffy) clean out carb. still don't run quite right. Cleaned out carb numerous times. still don't run quite right. This is the most recent items done to bike: clean carb with solvent, remove all jets, choke assembly, remove air fuel screw, clean all parts and blew compressed air through all passages. I have just purchased a Yamaha TY 250 Majesty registered SOG ***S, First registered in Birmingham (any one here know the bike) Obviously it is a Yamaha framed bike. Needs cosmetics/ chassis sorting, it runs well though. Iwill have to mothball it for a while as I have just put the house up for sale so no bikes/ mess around until we move (yes dear) . It has a TY tank and not the coffin type and there is a well faded Mick Andrews sticker on the top of the fuel tank. Dear All, I am looking for help again! Could anbody tell me a good starting point for thr mixture screw on my Majesty 320, I have just fired her up after an extensive rebuild and she only seems happy with half to threequarters of a turn out, is this ok or should i start looking for an error in the rebuild? I am running a very strong (25-1) oil mix in the first tank full as the bike has not been run for 16 years but she did start second kick!

please can anyone help when my ty 80 gets warm it starts to missfire , running a 50-1 fuel mix new air cleaner, new main bearing to take all play out of flywheel , new points mixture screw set at 1 1/2 turns currently running on b6 ngk plug would changing to a softer plug help as the plug is all black and sooty when missfire happens thank you

I am struggling to find the correct torque figure for 320 Majesty head nuts, any ideas? Also, how long should the rear shocks be (original spec.) for a 320 Maj? One last thing, which are the best new shocks for my bike? Thanks in advance.

In the process of building a mini majesty and have a slight problem with footrests. Does anyone have any pictures of footrest solutions for said frame? or even any ideas. I have a pair of Miller replacements for a 175 but these do not allow for the rear brake to fit. Thanks

Hi Folks! having problems with my 250 majsety after doing a fun trial at earl shilton on sat night one of the sections involved a stretch of water (river!) which was quite deep in places! on the third time round the bike started to splutter and load up! after escaping the exit bank i made it to the van thinking the old girl had gulped a large amount of water (the villiers brigade merrily rode this section with the engines under water! ) anyway i removed the float bowl and removed any traces of water but the bike was still sick ie wouldn't rev properly or cleanly! anyway when i got home i removed the airfilter and checked inside the airfilter box all ok supprisinley d…

I have a 1988 TY250 Mono. Its all working and normal - no mods other than a disk brake conversion. Its a competition model with no brackets for battery box, lighting bits or other non competition parts. I then bought a lighting kit so i can get an MOT (daylight is ok) and ride to areas where i can trial. I have half fitted this kit and found a few problems - can anyone help me? 1) there are no switches for the lights - and the wiring between the headlight and the loom are different. 2) there are two bullet connectors (1M & 1F) under the tank - what are they for (horn?) 3) how to mount the rear brake light switch (near the padal) - any ideas - anyone done this an…

In my quest to improve my majesty, I am looking to change the kickstart, I would like to add a new, lighter lever and dispense with the rather large heavy original. I have tried an alloy Ty mono kickstart welded to the original bottom piece, this has asthetically worked but its rather long and tricky to use . Has anybody done this mod with example a shorter kickstart lever from a modern trials bike, if so would they be willing to share which this is. Thanks very much

Advice needed! I rode the TY250 (1988) today and i noticed oil is leaking through the output shaft - Front Sprocket. I want to know how to check the level of gearbox oil easily. The only way i know at the moment is to take the sump guard off and drain the oil (and measure it). But is there a upper level screw somewhere to take out and fill the oil untill it overflows? I have just bought a 1977 Ty 125 off Swiss e-bay (Ricardo). It is very tidy but totally gutless! Are there any quick fixes that can be done at home to liberate a few extra horses? I wonder if it was maybe restricted for use as a learner bike?

Can anybody tell me if, and where its possible to buy front wheel " Z " type stainless spokes for a Mono. I seem to remember they were unobtainable, or perhaps just hard to find some time ago has the situation changed. Thanks

could some body help me find rings for my 320 yellow Majesty I am doing up? I am a new member. I am English but now live in France. I did a lot of Competition as a Schoolboy in the UK (1979-1983) Including the ACU National series. A few years ago I bought a TY125 to learn how to ride and as I've got new bikes it's just been pushed to the back of the shed. However, I dug it out today and am curious ... What year the bike is? How common are they? What colour/decals they should have for their year? Is the bike mechanically the same as the TY250 except for the barrel? Are all TY125's gutless or is it just mine? The bike is tatty and mechanically not brilliant. The tatty bit is mainly down to me falling off it all the time when learning to ride but it's partly down to a previous owner thinking it'd be a good idea to paint the bike white (badly, you can see yellow coming through) to cover up wh…
