A TY175 in bits was delivered today, what do I do with it ? Firstly I was really taken with that lovely 200 Majesty at the Classic dirt bike show at Malvern. How much better is the Majesty frame than the standard one ? As the bike I have just bought is totally stripped,(down to hubs and spokes !) I can go in any direction when I build it.Who does the 200 big bore conversion and is it worth it ? I spoke to Craig Mawlem at the last Bath classic trial re one of his frame kits to do my other 250,same again I wonder how much better they are than the standard one,I really like my standard one - cant believe how well it steers and grips, sorry…

I know its not a trials bike, but my 5 year old has got to start somewhere!!! anyway, got hold of it for free, needs a few bit & bobs, but my main problem is that the kickstart wont engage properly. 9/10 times it will just fly straight round without grabbing. if you tip the bike to the side, it sometimes engages, & the bike will start. any ideas anyone???

Excuse my total ignorance of Yams! I may have a look at a pinky thats for sale locally. Can anyone tell me how to date the bike, i dont think seller has a clue, maybe frame numbers or the like? Did pinkys ever have discs as standard? if so from what year? (this one doesnt) thanks S.M.

Just a quick question. Do all Ty 250 twinshocks have the same left side mag cover. ? Some photos that I have seen have a round cover with a center bump like a TY1 75. Other photos show a smooth cover that runs back to cover the counter shaft sprocket. Thanks for your time.

I have an '89 TY 250 mono. I bought this bike with the intention of starting trials. I stripped it down, resprayed, replaced all shock linkage bushes, fork springs, new rear wheel, C&S, put on replacement one-peice tank/seat unit, and numerous other bits (receipts for all), and used it TWICE! Its a really nice bike, but I can't help thinking I'm better suited to pottering about green-laning. Would'nt mind a Scorpa Long-Ride (any good for green-laning?) So whats my TY worth? Thanks for any suggestions.

Has anyone got an old TYZ mudguard with the Hamilton full length decal fitted that they don't want and would like to sell, or alternatively, would be willing to take a good photo of and e-mail it to me. I thought I had one spare myself but it must have been sold on one of my earlier bikes. These aren't available anymore and I'd like to get another made. We've had one go but it's not quite right so need an original pattern, or good photo of, to work from. Or, if anyone has a bike with one fitted and isn't really bothered whether they have the decal on their bike or not, I'd be happy to buy it off you for the cost of a replacement new guard. Picture attached of the decal…

Hi, I am toying with the idea of converting my Yamaha Pinky to twinshock. The main reason is so that I can ride some neighbouring club trials in twinshock class. Our club HEREFORDSHIRE CLASSIC TRIALS CLUB runs an a/c mono class but the neighbours dont. Is there anyone out there who has done the same, and if so is it much hassle. I ask because the swingarm doesn't have a lot of meat in it, unlike a box section as on a TLM 200, a mate of mine converted his to twinshock in no time. Thanks.
