I have a TY250a that I have a stalling issue with. What happens is it starts normal 3rd kick,runs well at lower rpms and during a hard accelleration (say between sections) it justs loses all power but will usually stay running or will start right back up. This issue happened yesterday as I had been riding typical section practice and stopped to talk for about 10 minutes and when accellerating after starting it fell flat again.It has a new Mikuni B&J carb, Power reeds,air filter. I have pulled the carb off many times after these occurances and it and the jets are all clean as new. The gas cap is venting fine also. I do notice that the fuel hose between the petcock and…

Hello, I picked up a TY250A twin shock a while ago for fun. Picked it up for only US$125. Runs like a dream, needed some TLC but that's part of the fun. I feel that the 14/53 sprockets have it geared too high for trials, OK for trail. I plan to change the front and see that Sunstar makes both 12 and 13 teeth options. What does anyone recommend? I ride Novice to Intermediate. Also, do I need to remove the left side cover to change the sprocket?

New to this forum.... and need some help please?!! Bought a Ty175 a few months ago that has stood for 15 years un-used. Rebuilt the carb, fresh fuel and new plug and she fired up first kick!! Well chuffed! Had a problem with dirt in the fuel, so have Pet-Sealed the tank and now have very clean fuel. Bike still starts great, but when I select first gear and pull away, she starts to die?? If I slip the clutch and keep the revs up, she will keep going and she will eventually burst into life?!! That's OK, but have tried her off road, and it is very hard to control like this?? Hi, im going to rebuild my ty250 top end, i was just wondering what the recommended brand of piston etc is? Also, my rear shock seems to have become very loose, i think the gas has blown out because i' am no longer getting any feedback from the adjustment, i was wondering what should i do? I assume i need to send it to a shop to have it 're-gased' so to speak, and a shock service... Anyone got any idea what that would cost? Cheers ?

I have just bought a TY175 and the engine frame No: ends 978 does that mean its a 1978 model, the tank is white & orange? And were would be the best place to get bits ie back mudgaurd for starters. Considering that I now live in New Zealand

Hello all! Does any one know where i can pick up a set of new fork caps for my 1974 Yamaha TY250. They are extremely Bunged up from years of use and abuse or does any one know if another set would be compatible from another bike. Any suggestions or leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jon

The knuckle between the kick lever & splined shaft broke on my TY250A! Is there another model that will fit since this part is no longer available?

Hope you are all well! sorry to be such a noob...but i was hoping if someone with more expertise and experience would tell me if my slide is worn past the point of no return and needs to be replaced? bike seems to run ok but trying to give it as much TLC as possible while its in my custody! i recall 'feetupfun' saying the TK carby was really awesome and when working as intended is hard to beat, though if the the slide is worn it can run rich. however, im looking at $50 on eebs for a new slide but can get a whole new OKO carb from mid atlantic trials for $100 so not sure which my best option would be.. any ideas/o…

Hi Guys I am getting on with trying to make my recently bought TY250 rideable and I have noticed that the chain is running VERY close to the rear shock spring - is this normal ?

He guys, got the ty250 mono running. One of the things I did was cleaned up and re-greased the kick starter. But now it wont sit nicely stowed away while riding - it just creeps out. Suggestions? thanks
