1975 TL250 clutch friction plates - 22201-286-010 and 222-286-000 part numbers. (One part number appears to have replaced the other). I'm replacing the friction plates. The part number I ordered, 22201-286-010 is not as wide as the plates in my clutch. The originals are 11.40mm while the replacement plates (22201-286-010} are 9.30mm Anyone changed out their original friction plates for new ones? And what part number did you use? I can put them in and give them a try, but I'm loosing friction surface. Which will probably translate into less clutch grip. I appreciate some ideas from those who've changed their clutch plates. Thanks. Regards, Dob…

Would anyone have a source or a design for a TL250 compression release? A valve lifter type release was sold in the 70s for XL350/ 250 that should also fit a TL250.

I now have a TL250 up and running. It works much better than expected except on tight turns. Has anyone tried longer shocks to help turning? What length?

Does anyone have a procedure for adjusting the compression release cable? I understand the engine must be rotated a certain position and then the cable adjusted for a certain measurement somewhere. Any clarification would be great. Once it is properly adjusted, perhaps some advice on the best way to kick it over.

The TL250 has an external grease fitting for a the clutch actuator on the left side cover. This does not look like a standard grease fitting and the standard tool does not fit. See picture. How do you fill it? I thought about threading in a standard fitting but it would stick out farther and would be easy to tear off.

I bought a good condition magneto cover a while ago & decided to replace the damaged 1 yesterday, when i looked @ the back of the new cover it has 3 screw holes where the original only has 2 fixing holes It looks like i've bought a TLR 200 magneto cover, i can buy a TLR 200 @ a decent price, so my question is, does anyone know if the 200 stator will fit inside the 250 flywheel ? My searching tells me the 200 & 250 flywheels have different part numbers, i'm hoping the inside measurement is the same & the outside measurement is different, because i presume, the 250 would be slightly heavier ?

I came across a clean CB100N motor and bought it. I was wondering if this motor can be enlarged; sharing the same stroke as a 125. Otherwise are there any useful mods I can do with this motor? It came without it's carb or induction spacer, traf.

Does anyone have experience with the Chinese Keihin copies of 22 and/ or 24 mm size for TLR200s or similar? Is there a brand to recommend? I'm looking for something to run on a TL250 with stock air box. Most other carbs are bigger.

I have a 76 TL250 with pretty severe pitting on the outside of both magnesium engine side covers. They are structurally sound and this is not a restoration so I'm not concerned with a cosmetic repair. However, I would like to prevent further corrosion. For better or worse, they are both now bead blasted clean. This is an air cooled bike but must have spent some time parked near water. I'm in a mostly dry climate so there should be no significant moisture exposure. Some on line sources say that Alodine or some other "conversion" prep is needed first to prevent corrosion. Other sources say that Alodine will actually promote corrosion in magnesium and make it…

I'm trying to clean the valves on an old TL250 but am not getting much progress. I have been using oven cleaner and the intakes are getting pretty clean but not the exhausts. Is there a better way?

It looks like I'll be rebuilding the top end of a TL250. I don't see any piston kits on line so does anyone sell them? Are there other sources for valves, cam chain, etc.

I finally found a fitting speedo drive gear (From ct125) and 3d-scanned it. If you also need it as urgent as i did get yourself a 3d-printer or a friend who has one and print it. t's just the speedo gear, no worm drive as i couldn't extract it. Didn't test the print yet, because i'm happy with the metal gear. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZdRx2qOBbFkJ2G2wRs8kymjSXC9wcUUG/view?usp=sharing https://anonfiles.com/j3D669Ebuf/tl125_speedo_gear_stl https://mega.nz/file/AigGyYgK#gpMSnJJdqIccU7ppVmYCF3N89ZQk3DTHX7PgRt9ftrw Have fun ๐

Hi Folks, My son & I have bought some old Beta flanged tubeless rims with the idea to fit them onto our TLR250's we have. I've seen one done with Gas Gas / Sherco type turnbuckle spokes. Has anybody done this & if so what size / length spokes did you use? There's quite a bit of difference in length in the spokes between sprocket side to drum side on our TLR's Any advice appreaciated. Cheers, Gary B

Hi. I'm in the progress of getting an old TL125S back to the street and make it street legal. I got everything working so far, except the tachometer, because i'm missing the gear in the front wheel hub (part no 44804-355-003). This gear seems to be impossible to find, no one can get it. I tried to fit one of a XL125, but thats too large to fit. Now i'm curious if theres another alternative that's fitting, maybe from another honda. I don't want to use another tachometer or make any dirty hacks, but thats an option if anything else fails. Any good advice on alternatives? Thanks in advantage

Are there any recognised mods that will improve the forks on a TLR 200? I have a modified frame, rockshocks, etc., but the forks appear untouched.
