  1. Middlesbrough DMC got the good news from the new owner of 'lordstones' Carlton Bank N.Yorks that they can use the land this year. The club had resigned themselves it would not happen this year, but thankfully the club oficials have pulled it off. May 5/6 Clubman 2 day. Clubman A&B & youth (no D class) - Sections will be dual route, and despite the short notice the eager club team are hopefully going to 'extend' one of the gullies, both above and below what was used previously. Those that rode last year will be welcome to know that the hill climb will be back also. Its a great clubman venue & an enjoyable ride round too. Sat starts at 2.30 & Sunday 11am…

  6. Midland Classic Trials Clubs 2nd March meeting was at Cookes Quarry, Youlgrave Nr Matlock on a sunny spring day with a 10 section 5 lap course along the wooded hillsides. The dry weather made the sections somewhat easier than usual but a good days sport was had by the excellent turnout of riders on a good mix of machinery. Consistency and concentration were paramount and two class winners, Pete Carson Unit 4 stroke and Rene Stubbs Pre 72 2 stroke, had to be decided on the furthest clean rule. As usual the Expert unit class was a Tiger Cub whitewash as the top three placings were again all on Cubs. It was great to see some more rigids taking part with Jon Tye taking a …

Anybody thinking of going to the Hipwell trial this year??? same venue & start is in Peak Forest. Hopefully it will be another mega days trialing on land that it only used once a year. 2 laps of about 20 sections with only about 5 miles of road work, only need to re-fuel after first lap back at the start. It will be a Cheshire centre champ round but you can enter on the day for no champ points. Should be a real good day as long as the sun shines like it did last year..... merrydeth

  12. Peak Classic Trials Club held the final round of their Club Championship at Stathams farm Matlock Derbyshire on Sunday 13th Jan. The turnout of 47 entries enjoyed a very testing event made no easier by the cold and wet conditions making this less frequently used venue very muddy for a change. All Competitors found the going difficult with a lot of the placings decided by furthest clean tie decider resulting in a few disappointed faces. The tie decider fell in the favour of C Chell, BSA , in the expert class finishing on the same score as ex works rider Chris Milner, Cub, both losing 23 marks. The 50/50 route was won by B Dale, Cub, with a loss of 42 while the Clubman co…

  14. Entries are now filling up for the Cumberland County Motor Cycling Club 2 day trial on 20/21st June. This is just a bit of an update - There will be 2 courses of good old fashioned straight forward sections based around Newbiggin and taking in a fair amount of the Alan Trophy course. Quite a few people have booked for camping (Available from Friday Night Onwards) at the start and there will be a food van and toilets. There is also going to be an outside bar on the Saturday Night , and along with the "Blue Bell Inn" which is 3-4 minitutes walk away i'm sure there will be a few partaking in one or TWO, and as the course is all off road - NO WORRIES about being over the…

  19. Please can you pass on the following info to all potential riders of Middlesbroughs Clubman event on Oct 11th (Sunday) The above evnet was originally planned for Beak Hills Farm, however having found out late that it is double booked with the local Shooting syndicate, we had to find somewhere at very short notice. Kindly Guisbrough Motor Club has given permission to use Slapewath Nr Charltons. The trial is still a Clubman only event (though everyone is welcome) with seperate routes for Cluman A & B, the same team is putting on the sections, even though we are Middlebrough club lads we know the venue well, so the lap should be a good ride round with sections to suit…

  20. The Glorious few could have been the perfect title for the 19 riders who supported the Peak Classic Trials Club when they held round 8 of their club championship at Dudwood Farm, Elton, Nr Matlock last Sunday 18th September. The Trial also incorporating round 5 of the East Midland Centre ACU Classic Championship. Perhaps the disappointing numbers were because of a dates clash with two other local Classic Clubs who chose to run a road trial and an endure on the same day who knows but the organisers Paul and Donna Beswick are very grateful to the riders who did turn up to support the Club. The forecast rain failed to materialize until after the event which was thankfully m…
