The Dabbers Trials club event at Widdington nr Saffron Walden was very tricky due to the constant rain on Saturday and with no let up all day today there was a river running through the grounds, most riders completed 3 laps of twelve sections. Thanks to the club stalwarts for setting out and all the Observers who got soaked through along with the riders.

On the 20th of November, The Worthing Trials Club are running their annual Brian Fowler National at the Hook Woods Trials Centre, in West Horsley. Hook Woods is known for being one of the only bits of land in the south east to have rocks. It is also popular with many of the top riders in the UK today, having hosted two British Championship rounds, numerous British Youth and Ladies rounds and also the Inter Centre Team Trial. The trial is a Clubman National aimed to suit riders from the centre's intermediate route, up to the very best in the UK, and will predominately consist of flowing sections up the numerous rocky gullies. There are three routes to ride, with the Exper…

Dear Jim'll Fix It I know it's only 35 years since I wrote to you last and my mother did say that I should be patient but when I asked you to fix it for me to have a ski lesson with Franz Klammer I was hoping to do it before he (and I) retired! So Jim, here I am writing again in the hope that you can fix it for me and all the other wobbly trials riders in the district to persuade Wrigglesworth Building Services to repeat the superb summer evening series for beginners next year. Wednesday evening arrived and instead of stress I felt nervous excitement. Is this normal - everyone else seemed very laidback? My mission this time was not just to finish but to improve on th…

Pitley managed to lay out a three-route trial to cater to beginners, which I think was well received/ Pictures and Report I think the results will appear on the ACU Western Centre Site...find out more later this evening

The Wye Valley Auto Club has got the go ahead from all the landowners to run its Classic Twinshock trial on 23/September. The trial starts from the Crown Inn at Longtown, Herefordshire on Sunday 23rd Sept and will be a 30 mile lap, with 30 sections in 14 groups. It covers the ground of the Wye Valley Traders trial which was last run in the early 90's and includes some of the classic sections (not Tremorithic you'll be glad to know). The trial will have 2 routes, each for 2 classes of machines, British Twinshock's (Cub's, Bantam's etc) and later non-British (Honda's SWM's, Majesty's etc). There is camping at the start, refreshments (from the pub) Though we've had some …

This years Wyegate staged by the WG&DF Club was a fairly tough challenge mainly due to the rain, but was a superb event and really well organised, we had a marvellous day out. Neil Ludlow and I were lucky to get an entry as the organisers had taken the decision to limit riders to smaller and more nimble machines such as Gas Gas Pamepra's, Beta Alps and classic trials bikes meaning that our larger, less suitable 400's were placed on the reserve list. We were relieved when the email came through from the Jackie the secretary of the meeting saying we were in! Joining us from the Stratford-Upon-Avon club were John Cart, Dave Hayward and Alan Newman. With a lap of al…
