A big thank you to Ian McConnachie and Barry Burton along with all the helpers for a great three day trial. Every one could see how much time and effort had been put in. Chris and Ben both said on the way home there was not one bad section over the three days! how often can you say that?

I am looking for a honest opinion on how hard the YMSA three day trial is, i have heard various reports going from mega hard to reasonable. I was thinking about the adult novice route. Is this route going to be too much for a reasonable Clubman B rider. Thanks in advance.

I have just come back from the YMSA three day and this was my first visit but it will not be my last, what a great event three days of riding against some of the hardest sections i have ever done. The weather was perfect for the three days, Saturday was a little hot at Milltown quarry with no shade any where, Bracken rocks was cooler and plenty of shade and you needed it with the sections a little harder than the first day, then it was a dash back to the Bed & Breakfast for a quick shower and change and taxi up to Dudwood farm for the entertainment that had been arranged for the evening. There was plenty to eat and drink on the Sunday night with music playing all nig…

Great trial again yesterday. Unbelievable to see what some of these lads can do. The A class route scared the cr4p out of me just watching some of it These YMSA trials seem to fill a gap for those lads that are hitting the top, I've noticed a few of our lads that ride them, it really does help them step up a level. The B Class route is getting pretty tough, and for yesterdays trial, I dropped to riding Out of Class on the adult novice route - my excuse is that I can run round and look after my lad easier, and it gave my dodgy knee a rest (whimper whimper whinge whinge), but we all know the truth I entered out of class, but unfortunately they put me in the results, so…

What a fantastic day out! 112 entered for 60 sections for just 12 quid! it just shows that with the right pice of land and sensible sections there are still literally 100's of riders willing to travel for a pre 65 trial although yes there were 'trick' bikes (they rode in a specials class) by far the vast majority were 'bread and butter ' bikes and the biggest class (again) was the clubmen who ride an easier route and only did 45 sections. the piece of land ( estate!) is enourmous with enough potential sections for a dozen trials, at the head of a far flung valley on the Pennines ( the Bronte brother worked nearby) the clerks of course laid out 15 natural sections ( 9 in…

just come back from the venue after a bit of flag planting this morning. It has been steadily drizzling for the last couple of days whilst we have been setting out and very very light snow is falling but as its drizzling at the same time nothing is remotely looking like settling. it is cold but again with little or no breeze its not remotely close to freezing,on the moor( local temp in my van on the way home was 6.5c) please though bring appropriate clothing especially if observing.. it is winter and it is a moor in Yarkshire, .
