Ok this week end 29/05/11 is the Barrett help for heroes trial. Run as a traditional type trial using no stop rule at a fantastic venue in the Cotswolds. There will be 2 routes one being nice and easy suitable for complete novice riders and trail bikes, the other being normal Clubman standard with nothing scarey or dangerous just nice none! bouncy sections. SO WHAT IS THE PROBLEM ! you can't all be going away for the weekend , as far as i know we are not clashing dates with any one else locally . The regs have been posted for weeks in tmx and on line. The club is giving all the fees to HELP FOR HEROES .So why if i take my shoes and socks off can i count the entries that …

Anyone riding round 1 of the summer dried tonight ? I was supposed to be riding my first trial with Ringwood a couple of weeks ago but the missus had a baby so that stopped my debut. Going to try and ride this trial tonight if the day works out that way.

  6. Many years ago ( 50) I was a pimply faced apprentice motor cycle mechanic in a Matchless dealership in Auckland NZ. (John Dale Ltd) We had for a period one Mechanic, Bob Gollner who was a keen trials rider and I might say a very good one too. While there Bob built a trials bile using a Villiers motor. I notice in various mags the same name being mentioned as an owner of a co building trials bikes in GB. (Cheetah) Is this the same guy? If not its a strange coincidence as "our Bob was an englishman and a nice guy into the bargain. Can anyone enlighten me, and if the same what or where is he now? Regards. good forum. Dave

This year in the Isle of Man the last placed crew in the "British Sidecar Championships" Tim " Smokey" Walker ( Brother of Johny & Son of Ronny) and Paul " Wobbler" Norman will be trying to raise some money for the Great North Air Ambulance (as well as finish the trial) As we come from Cumbria its fairly close to our heart. This year Like ourselves in the Sidecar , the Air Ambulance is having quite a hard time, and as it's something that we can all relate to - it would be nice to try and help. We are going to try and Finish this year so if you see us please help. Especially Sparky the "Twin Shock Pot Hunter". Thanks The "Wobbler

Looking at the Erzberg result's it's all class Trials riders that can do the business. With this in mind isn't it only a matter of time before Trials loses most of the better riders to these "extreme "events? I'd imagine financially the deal would be better and a lot more recognition. Looks great fun too.

Hi Folks, I'm just getting to the end of rebuilding my Fantic 240 for the 2nd time (proper job this time!) and it's exagerated just how tatty the wheels are. Seems a shame to leave them as they are when the rest of the bike is looking so fresh, so I'm wanting to get the hubs/rims powder coated and them rebuilt with stainless spokes and nipples. The question is, can anyone recomend anyone who can do the job in the North West of England at a reasonable price? Failing that, how hard is it to try the rebuild my self and what equipment would I need? Happy to try most things once! Thanks very much, hope someone can help.

Hi, I have been looking at the forum for a while now, bought a bike and entered a couple of trials but this is my first post for which I hope is not an unfortunate subject. I live in Gloucestershire and the local dealer that has been around for many years, BVM have posted on their on-line shop that the 'site is down for maintenance' for a week now and they also don't answer the phone. Does anyone know their position?
