Just a reminder for those of you that don't read the front page...SSDT entries close on Friday. If you're sending a form in this week, it must be with us by Friday, as the ballot will be done over the weekend and late entries will be too late....no excuses accepted! If you've posted yours and are dubious about whether or not it will arrive by Friday, email ssdtoffice@ssdt.wanadoo.co.uk - that way I'll make sure your name is included in the ballot so that you don't miss out. Good luck to those of you who have been organised enough to get your form in on time!

For those of you who are twiddling your thumbs waiting for the Sheffield results to come in later on, the SSDT ballot has been done and the entry list has been posted on the SSDT website. Good luck to those of you who've got in, and apologies to those of you who haven't - I'm off to grab some dinner before the abuse starts.

Excuse my ignorance but...I am very new to the sport (weeks) but have been aware of the SSDT's for a long time and since being on here I have read numerous times about how concerned they are about losing sections etc, and rightly so, and hense why they make such a drive to stop spectators riding off road them self, however, I can't stop thinking it's all being used by the authorities to brake your back with! By this I mean, the possible threat of losing things, surely it was be an enormous own goal for the local area, local authority, local land owners etc etc to make any attempt to stop things. How do you fancy getting involved with the biggest and best trial in the whole entire world?! The Scottish Six Days Trial is looking for a Secretary – someone to join the fun, mayhem and camaraderie of the SSDT Committee and help bring the greatest off-road motorcycle trial in the world to fruition in May 2013! I am considering my first SSDT in 2013 (although more likely to be 2014). Just wondering how 'legal' myself and my bike need to be, I know I'll have to take my bike test however I'm not sure what insurance etc would be required. Also, how much would I expect the week to cost including entry etc?

Hi all I am going to attend this years SSDT,but want to make sure i get to see two sections,being:The pipeline and the other is one that is always featured on DVD's,it is were they go under a road bridge which is always full of spectators and climb up the stream over rocks.I hope this is good enough descripton.My main question is were are both of these sections so i can plan to see both,also are they at opposite ends of the trial,or by any good luck,within a couple of days of each other.Any help would be great. As it says on the tin, I am thinking of taking the road bike thru to watch, have never been before and don't even know where to start going tbh. I'm coming from Dundee, so thru Glencoe, and will only be holiday Monday I can make it, so should I just head in to Kinlochleven and walk places from there or is there any tips on where to go and watch ??? The 101st edition of the Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) is underway and is already set up for another enthralling week-long battle in the Highlands with five riders currently sharing the lead, each on zero marks, at the end of the opening day. Last year's winner James Dabill (Beta) is amongst three previous victors who are tied at the top of the leader board after a relatively easy first day for the front-runners. hi im going to do a cycle next sat. the reason i put this on the ssdt page is its the fri route at the scottish. It starts at banavie, heads along past glenfinnan, glenuig, lunch at strontian. we dont get the corran ferry we stay on the long road back to banavie. i have set up a just giving page. www.justgiving.com/steven-mycock for those who dont know me ive helped set out the scottish for the last 10+ years. im doing it for the RNLI i know times are hard but every little helps thanks for the support. steven

Many of you riders will have seen two dodgy looking blokes in bright red XC-Ting rubber gear photographing at sections that other spectators couldn't get to very easily (This was me Bigfoot and my mate AGM). We went to sections most people other than the riders just don't get to see we also tried to capture riders looking there best in spectacular looking sections but still in control feet up. We did this on behalf of TRIALSPHOTOS.COM but as interest in last years event begins to be over taken by the 2007 event we feel releasing the 2006 ones will only help raise the profile of the event and TrialsCentral/TrialPhotos.
