In the 70's or early 80's there was a film which had a chase and the guy knocked over a postman who happened to have a montesa he then proceeded to ride over loads of cars in a jam, does anyone know the film? Was it lane on the bike?

Things are almost never as they appear, and such is the case with the recent Endurocross. Those that were there saw Ringo attempt to qualify, and a noble attempt it was, but that was only half the story. Let me tell ya how it REALLY went down... It appears from the following post on the TTC website that no Americans will be able to contest for World Round points this year , which is very disturbing considering the time and "negotiations" that were had at the NATC meeting. By a concensus of majority it was decided to have the Pro's ride the WR sections, now apparantly that has been reversed! (One final note, it has been decided that the AMA National Championship for our Pros will ride on the blue gates during the Trials World Championship (corresponding to the same splits as the Junior World Championship) as the most appropriate level of difficulty for our national. One comment that was heard spoken about our best riders was they don't. They don't know when to go fast and when to go slow, they are always riding the wrong speed. That was overheard by one American spectator in Deluth, the father of an up and coming US riding star. Learning the correct rhythm is perhaps the hardest thing to pick up, unless your riding with riders who have it already. When you don't ride with the best, chances are you never will learn it. By the way, I was not in Deluth!

Breaking News: The Rhode Island Trials Club has agreed to host rounds 7 and 8 of the 2006 North American Trials Council (NATC) National Championship Trials Series. This came about as a result of the New York D4 club having some internal issues that prevented them from being able to host these rounds. The Rhode Island rounds will be held at North Kingston, RI on August 26 and 27, 2006. There has been a question if 250cc four strokes should be allowed to compete agaisnt 125cc two strokes in a US 125 Trials Championship? Similar to what we see in American Moto-cross competition where 250cc 4 strokes can compete in the 125 moto cross class! I suppose that the FIM has to be consulted on that question! Can a 250cc four stroke trials bike compete in the 125cc world trials championship? If they can then it only makes sense that in a US 125cc championship that we also allow bigger four strokes in the contest the championship. If it's not allowed by the FIM then we need to follow their lead and conform with international standards.

First off, let me give you a big thanks for giving us the Americas Cup back. Next, I've always enjoyed your TDN team, you are a fun bunch. Question, why is there no OZ round of the world trials championship? The contenent of Europe hosts over 80% of the world trials championship. Why not spred the rounds around a little more? I've been to Sidney, there is some great trials riding mountains just outside of the city. You guys could do a really great world round. What's the story?

Thanks to Chuck Weir and the AMA for the letter of apology for not including the youth age group national champions at the AMA Sports Banquet. It was a big evening and one where oversights can happen. the kids were disappointed not being brought up with the senior adult group winners. They are tough at that young age and chances are they have not given it much thought since then. Your letter is greatly appreciated, it was a great evening.

Could there be a massive shootout of future champions at this years American World round? That's really the question I'd like to ask, could 06 be the year of first blood? There is a very good chance "Wiggy" as he's known, will make his first world championship appearance in the USA at the TCC American round. The first qualifer. Mayhem already.

It was mentioned on another tred about a past 125cc US national championship, this is true. It was first organized along with the MOTA "Michigan Ontario Trials Assn" North American Championship in 1972 and 73, these events had an open class and a 125cc class. When the first NATC meeting was held in early 1974 at Yamaha USA there was discussion of keeping the 125cc class along with the open class. Remember that MX in those days had 3 classes, 125cc 250cc and 500cc and it was considered very normal to segrigate bikes into displacement classes in the USA. Why the 125 class was dropped was simply a desire to partern our new US Championship series as close to European rules…

To help bring Alan and others up to speed on the NATC proposals to revamp the nationals and enlarge the US Pro class, here's a thumbnail blueprint of that proposal. Expert Sportsmen, Expert and Pro would be combined into one large class. Creating a much larger gene pool for the pros and more competition. Pro sections would be a mix of 1/3 Expert Sportsmen level sections, 1/3 Expert sections and 1/3 Pro levels sections for the morning qualifier. Contested with the Sportsmen event like now with the splits for the Pros, the biggest change would be the need for only two lines in the sections instead of three like we use now. Some solid advice that I'd like to give to the NATC is to run the nationals like a business. The customers are the riders and the customers are considered always right. Provided you want to stay in business, that is. The NATC should remember that there are a lot of Sports entertainment options available out in the market today, from MX, off road riding, quads, roadracing, car racing, golf, tennis, hang gliders, ultra lights, skiing, boating and a host of other sports that they have to compete against for customers/riders. Way to go Ringo, for stepping up and taking a shot at making the Eunduo-cross night program main events. I've got to congratulate him for aiming high and going for it in Vegas. There are two roads a rider can take, the first is the build slowly road. Ride with the local guys and work your way up and maybe someday shoot for glory. OR jump in with both feet and sink or swim with the BIG DOGS and Johnny did the big jump. Way to go Ringo, that took courage. Why I like the second path of jumping in with the Big Dogs is you can compare your lap time or score with the best.
