Having trouble deciding which class to ride for 2010 do i ride the bog standard HT5 in the the pre unit springer class on the easy route or the slightly more modified HT5 in the British replicas on the hard route. Is there any point riding the bigger bikes at all? or maybe they should have another Unit and Pre unit british replica class on the hard route?

Hi folks, I posted this earlier this week, but for some reason it was taken off. I had one response and would like to hear from others. I am looking to replace my Amal carb with a Mikuni on my 73 Ossa Explorer / MAR. Can anyone aim me in the right direction as far as what size and model, as well as what size main and pilot jets. Also I would like to hear from people that have done this, and how it changed the throttle response. Thanks

Bob Forrest a member of the trials fraternity has sadly had his garage broken into in the early hours of this morning Saturday 6th April. He was at home in Leeswood near Mold, North Wales and heard a bang but didn't realise what was happening. His newly completed Faber framed B40 and his immaculate TLR with 1 piece tank/seat unit were ... stolen together with two helmets, his trials bum bag and many hand and power tools. Please keep your eyes open and let Bob aka Rob 07810 301980 or rgforrest@btinternet.com or the police know if you suspect you've seen them.

Hi again, I've uploaded some more footage, this time of the Old Codgers Trial 2005 once again held at Hungry Hill near Aldershot. I've had tp split into three parts as You Tube will only allow 10 minute maximum file lengths. It's a lot more comprehensive than the Talmag stuff. Once again, enjoy the sight and sound of some lovely old classics in action... well the sight at least as the audio seems to have somehow escaped.. grr... I'll check at out... lol UB (part 3 to follow, once it's uploaded)

I have an Amal carb on my 73 Ossa Explorer. There is only one screw on the carb that adjusts air/fuel. My question is: since the screw is on the jug side of the carburetor, doesn't that make it a fuel screw? I always thought if a screw is on the aircleaner side of the carb, that made it the air screw. But there is no screw on that side of this carb. I have received different advice on this issue at events. If I back off on this screw, am I making it leaner or richer? And, what is a good method for adjusting these old carbs, (other than discarding them). Thanks

I just returned from this event near Montreal last weekend. It's only in it's third year but building a good following... with near 100 riders from central Canada and northeast US competing this year. Mick Andrews was also along helping out with the trials both days. Beautiful weather on Saturday, and even the heavy rains of Hurricane Irene didn't dampen the enthusiam too much on Sunday! Thanks to event host Eric for the loan of a Yamaha TY after my Ariel's mag expired! A few pics here. http://www.offroadmotorcycles.ca/journal/2011/8/29/trials-at-the-ormstown-vintage-off-road-festival.html Regards, Doug

Hallo my Name is Thorsten i come from Germany. A few weeks ago i bought a Garelli 320 in italy. The engine runs bad. I bought some parts for the carburator new. The main jet was 100 The pilot jet was 50 The needle was X21 The nozzle was CX 270 (this part comes from Dellorto directly) Does enybody of you know what parts are regulary in the carburator? I need some other information. What spark plug is right? Now i put a Campion N 12 from my SWM inside. What is the inigtion timing? What kind of Oil comes in the Transmission ? In my SWM is automatic Oil. I hope i become information and it is possible for me to restore this funny bike. Thank you
