Looking at getting a 93 Aprilia 280R Climber. Are there any flywheel weights available or will I need to machine something? How is the parts availability? I had a 92 and liked it a lot!

can anyone help me replace piston rings on my aprilia climber 240,the size ia looking for is 71.95,i dont realy know anywhere that sells them.ive looked on rotax site and theres no information about the older bomadier engines,can you help me out can i get them from a main dealer,our does anyone have some for sale,thanks,

Im looking to buy a flywheel puller for a 1990 climber Ive just bought. I cant find a specific one on ebay but a bosch rotax one is available. It is a internal thread of 35mm x 1.5. Any ideas if this is the right one. Thanks

Does anyone know where I can get a manual for my 240 Climber. I bought it with the engine in bits just need new rings and torques etc and should have it back running again.

Have a look at the early Aprilia towards the end, Hiro engine ? Also a good selection of SWM's,Italjets etc.

Alright Chaps, My mate has just recently aquired what i belive to be a late 80's aprillia 280 (air cooled). as i am not familiar with these bike's myself could any of you knowledgable guys tell me what you use in yours. This may sound dumb but i am pretty new to the scene and a little rusty on this area myself all i know is what quantity to put into my montesa so if you could advise on ratio and how much oil that equates to per litre of fuel it would be much appreciated. hi all can anyone tell me what the ign timing should be on a 280 watercooled engine, in mm btdc please. i've just found that the ign coils on the inside of the rotor cover had come loose. hence it was backfiring and obviously wouldn't run . iv'e set the coils in the middle of the adjustment limits, and got it running, but would like to get it right before using it again.....many thanks

I was just wondering how high everyone runs their fork tubes in the triple tree ( yoke, steering stem , whatever you want to call it) upper clamps. I had mine flush since I've owned it ( a year) but have been wondering if lowering would give smoother steering, easier balance etc. Thanks for any opinions.

So, I have an Aprilia climber 280, i bought it a few months ago and its a bit tatty! I have replaced the kickstart lever, the brake pads, the gearchange lever and the rear shock. I will be riding it again soon to check if it was worth while or not! I got the kichstart lever and gearchange lever from Andover Norton - they were really helpfull and matched my old parts up in no time at all! The pads were from wemoto - although took 2 months to arrive (although i blame the post not them) the shock was an ebay item but again i was lucky to receive a tidy item! im quite new to trials so i dont have any wonderful hints or tips for the Aprilia crowd but im sure there will b…
