Hi Everyone, can anyone point me in the right direction to get a new plastics set for the old (2011ish) Oset 16? I’m really struggling to find anything at all. Uk or European based ideally.

Hi folks. my daughters oset 20 lite has started switching off when you open the throttle. If you switch the kill switch off then back on again the power comes back on until you try and open the throttle again. If the rear wheel is off the floor it will spin the rear wheel as soon as you put the rear wheel down it will cut out

  4. Hi All, Im looking for help for Oset 16 Lithium battery options. In Australia I am having a very difficult time getting my hands on a lithium battery for the Oset16. I have spoken to the Oset importer (under triumph now) and they had no idea what I was talking about which is a little concerning. But I have seen several posts of people wiring 18v drill batteries in series and having great success. I thought I would reach out to this forum and see if anyone can give advice about this being successful or not and what sort of range to expect. I can get more lead acid batteries but I was hoping to get something lithium for extended range so he can at least ride a…

  5. I need to replace the encoder on a TXP‑24 due to false high temperature alarm. When replacing the encoder, one needs to calibrate it to the motor (Function 24) according to this youtube video by Oset: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jGKsitIyMI&list=PLXQxIfDz8sKiBnStlqqGt1Pi45bGQdjlH&index=14 Oset do not sell this tool to end users unfortunately. This is a blocker for users located in remote places. Has anyone managed to DIY this step?

My son (8 year, 30kg) rides MX but also has an Oset 20.0 R for technic training at home. It is a MY18 (bought 2019). We are the 2nd owner. I didnt reflect over top speed when I bought it because I didnt knew how fast it should go and had no speedometer. I have had a feeling during the whole Spring that something is not right with the speed. It only goes up to 21km/h while it should be speeding over 50km/h. The bike feels very strong, both when it comes to power and response. But I have nothing to compare to, so maybe it should be stronger. What I have done is, bought new batteries (it didnt help). I also screw down and put together the whole bike (and …

I have a breakdown in the promax brake caliper, which are not sold separately and have the characteristic of using dot 4. Because of this, several scenarios present themselves to me. 1. Get an AVID JUICY clamp that is in good condition and enter dot 4. 2. repair the one I have, but I don't think it will work. 3. Change the entire system of both wheels for shimano. Has anyone had to change the brake system?

  8. Hello guys, I created a 15aH LifePo4 Battery for the OSET of my son. At equivalent capacity, 10aH, the Lifepo4 will give better autonomy than the original lead batteries because the efficiency is much higher (95% against 60%)... I chose LifePo4 cells because they are safer than Li-ion (no risk of explosion or fire). Now my son can run x3 time longer and we won 8kg on the bike ! Please find in the attached file the full procedure if you want to create your own too. I put all the link to buy the components. Then all the setting for the BMS are explained in the attached file too. I chose this ELERIX bra…

Has anyone put a seat onto an OSET 16 R? I’ve found some online but they’re close to $200. Wondering if a seat from a 50cc bike would fit. Cheers

  10. Hello everyone, I am writing to see if you can help me. As I mentioned in the presentation, we are new to the world of trials and for Adrian I got him an Oset 20 lite, which runs at 36v, the bike came with lead batteries, which barely lasted at all and even less. I have bought a lithium battery for her of 36-42v and 21aH, with a continuous discharge of 160A (according to the manufacturer). The motorcycle now has a spectacular duration, but the problem comes when on some occasion, perhaps when accelerating very suddenly, the motorcycle stops, with the ignition button on, the accelerator lights disappear and the motorcycle stops. To start it again you ju…

I was hoping someone was still active on this Site and had some advice to help get my Grandsons bikes ready. The Oset website has little info and seems to be not updated. Can someone help find a online manual or print version for a 16r and 20r.? Specifically I'm looking for info regarding the three adjustments (what they control) located on the backbone of the frame. I also would like to understand the suspension adjustments on the forks as well. If there is a active Oset online community that I'm missing please point me in the right direction. Regards, NJtrials

  14. Hi, after breaking a couple of controllers in the process I’ve now completed a Kelly Controller installation on an OSET 16.0 24V. The problems I had were down to my wiring connections so hopefully this thread will help anyone considering the mod and avoid them making the same mistakes. I have focused on the wiring here as it’s what caught me out. I’ve not added much info on the controller or batteries so ask me questions if needed or look at the other threads that discuss them. First off, even without my controller breakages factored in it’s a costly mod with the new batteries, charger, controller and wiring so I’m not justifying this on a cost basis and will leave tha…

  15. I recently purchased from Facebook marketplace a 2010 OSET 16 24v. I think? The controller has a born on date of 2010. I bought a 48-72v step down to 24v 40a converter. I use a ego 56v batteries which can put out 50amps. It works fantastic, with a little better performance then stock due to lithium battery. My question is, is there anyone with experience putting more volts to the controller then 24v? Looking to get a little more out of it's performance. Thank you again for all the support. I didn't even think I would get an answer. I got a discussion! Gonna stick with what it is setup as now. Hope he hits a growth spurt soon.

  16. Morning. Were experiancing a 30% power loss on our oset 20R across the board Id like to check the motor by powering it directly from the battery. How do we do that. There are 2 leads from the motor. Which one goes to the live which ones goes to the earth. Or if thats not how you do it, how do you check it is operating correctly. Fault. We upgraded to lithium batteries as the old lead ones had started to loose charge quickly and at that time noted the bikes top speed was around 16-17 mph and bike revved well . We upgraded to lithium and the speed increased to 19mph and low and high end torque also improved. However we pulled the bike out for a ride after putting i…

Hi, I'm after a bit of direction with a power issue on my sons 36v oset 16. Turned the key last night after cleaning it Sunday, throttle lights up but no power to motor. Controller clicks as it should when the key is turned. Potentiometer was looking rusty so unplugged the connetor, tried the throttle and the motor kicked but didn't run. Could it be a Potentiometer issue or more? The bike is a 16 with red frame, I've read online that these were released in 2010 and 2010 only but not too sure so don't know which Potentiometer to order! Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks, Lee.

Can anyone shed some light on what the 3rd pin on the Oset charger does. I see there is no voltage on the charger when unplugged but once plugged in, there must be some comms over that 3rd pin that enables the charger output. Any ideas?

  19. One of the best upgrades you can make to your Oset is to replaces the sealed lead-acid batteries with LiPos. A LiPo (lithium-ion polymer battery) is an evolution of lithium-ion batteries where the electrolyte is basically held in plastic rather than a solvent. LiPos allow you to shave a lot of weight and to reduce charge time dramatically. While the benefits are impressive, they do not come free. Lipos have significant risks and require a higher level of technical competence and attention than the stock batteries do. If you are not somewhat technical, willing to learn, and willing to put some extra attention into the care and maintenance of the bike then stop here and e…

  20. Hi there. I've just ordered a set of fork springs to fit in my son's Oset 16 Racing. Apparently they fit in the left hand air fork of the rst forks. They are supposed to soften the ride as the standard forks are a very hard ride even with minimal air in. Was wondering if anyone has done this modification themselves. Do you need to remove any of the existing fork internals on the left side before fitting the springs and what order do the springs go in ? Do they just sit one on top of each other ? I'm more than happy stripping down trials bike forks but oset forks are MTB forks and seem very different.
