I cant find the potentiometer. I've pulled the covers, and the place where the POT should be is empty. Assembly fault, or are they an optional extra now?

Hi all, I just picked up a used 2015 20.0 for my son to ride while we wait for the 20" TRS to show up stateside (indefinite covid delays). I'm planning to do a custom lithium ion pack for it as we did for his smaller, Oset. Thinking ahead, it's likely that we'll sell this 20.0 once the TRS shows up, and there's a good chance I will snag a 24" for myself to putter around the yard. So given this, it'd be awesome if I could build his 20.0 pack such that it would also work in a 24R in the future. Trouble is, I've never seen a 24R up close and do not know what the battery space is shaped like. If anyone could post pictures and measurements of a 24R battery pack that would…

Hi all, My lad has the Oset 20.0 and it needs a replacement throttle. Unfortunately I'm unable to locate a new one. There seems to be the earlier version which have two black connector's and the 2014 onwards later versions which appear to have the same connector's as the late 2013 version, although the grips are not the same colour. So can anyone tell me if these later versions will work or if there is another alternative or know of a supplier that stocks the late 2013 version. Many thanks Rob

Just got a new 36v Oset for my son and we love it! One small issue we have, though, is harshness of the throttle at very low speeds. It's not bad for general riding around, but it definitely makes practicing things like small circles a real challenge - I can only do them using a lot of brake to modulate speed instead of the throttle, and my kid can't do them at all. I've read elsewhere that this is just the way it is on this bike - it might be something we have to live with, and the rest of the bike is so good that we're certainly willing to do so. But we'd rather not - has anyone had similar issues and found ways to improve? It really is a lot of fun, makes me want a…

good evening all. I have a query regarding brake rotors on the 24. The bike came with 180mm rotors F+R, But i have noticed one or two guys swapping them out for 203mm. Is there any real benefit to this? I understand why its done on mountain bikes, and i also understand the basic theory behind putting bigger rotors on cars and motor bikes. But is there any real benefit to be gained from installing them to the oset? All of the "proper" trials bikes i see, (sherco, beta, etc) all have tiny rear discs. In short, will i get a better bite from a 203 rear rotor over a 180? Thank you all in advance.

Hi guys, Thanks for your help in advance. Our Oset 20R has been running strong but all of a sudden weak power to rear wheel. I’ve read all forum topics and similar symptoms point to a faulty throttle. This happened last year and a new throttle solved the problem. So this time I bought another throttle and I’ve installed a brand new throttle and doesn’t help. I’ve run all diagnostic tests from the Oset you tube troubleshooting vids (I think there were 12 videos approximately). Everything passes the test with ohms meter. Batteries all strong, relay clicking, fuse seems to look good and work, etc. Oset powers on, all 3 throttle lights light up, I hear relay click und…

Looking for a bit of help with my sons 20R. Little used 2015 model, bought it a couple of months ago with LiPo battery already fitted, last ridden about 10 days ago. Plugged in the charger this morning and it was flashing to indicate an error! Checked battery voltage - 51V. When the battery is connected to the bike, the bike can be switched on the power lights illuminate on the throttle for a moment and then the power relay drops out. I've checked voltage too and from the key switch 51V, too and from the handlebar switch 51V and to the controller 51V until it shuts down. I have 51V each side of the main fuse and I have 51V supply onto the relay until it switches off…

It didn't take long to realize that we needed handguards for the 16. Our four year old was riding just outside of the homerun fence at a baseball field, and all I could think about was his hand hitting one of the fence posts. I found the Moose "mini" aluminum guards for $35 shipped, that are made for 1 1/8" fatbars. As expected, they took a lot of persuading to get them to mount up: A fair bit of bending in a vise w/ a big adjustable wrench, I had to add some electrical tape to the bar-end inserts, cutting off about 3" from each guard and drilling a new hole for the bar-clamp mount, and adding a segment of old inner tube to the bar clamps so they will resist sliding fr…

Does anyone have information on after market tires and brake pads that will fit the Oset 12.5R? I tried searching tires online but there seems to be different tire specs depending on manufacturer. My kid loves doing burnouts and needs a new back tire soon. Was hoping to find a more aggressive tire. Thanks.

Our boys have been spending way more focus and time on their gas machines, and we decided to sell the pair of 36v 16's. I expected that they would go super quickly, but there has been almost no interest here on craiglist and a couple of the local MC (not trials) forums. Is $800 and $900 out of line for 3 year old machines? Or is it just that trials is out of the US mainstream? Pete

hi all just tried fitting a lanyard to my grandsons 2007 oset 16 bike. it needs one for youth trials and as it is an old bike it seems it is not a simple matter of fit and go. i have an apico lanyard here and after taking the seat off discovred 2 red wires coming from the switch that have been fitted to it as they are not standard. i have tried using the lanyard using the red wires and when the 2 red wires are joined the motor is fine, when separated it stops, all well and good, when i add in the lanyard the motor will only work when the lanyard magnet is disconected, ie as if the rider has fallen off, the reverse of what should happen? any ideas?…

We have a 12.5 and a 36v in the house, and the boys are at the point of having more endurance than the batteries do (even w/ fresh 10.5ah batteries). What would be the easiest way of charging 2 or 3 12v lead acid batteries off the bike? Do the Oset chargers have the brain in them that monitors the output of the charger, or is that control part of the bike? If that's the case, would I simply need to set the batteries up in series (right voltage to the right charger), and buy a connector that will attach to the Oset chargers? Thanks in advance, Pete

Hi, im just wondering if its just as easy as using 2 x12v batteries and run the bike or is there any kind of low voltage protection circuit preventing this? If so, what do i need to do to fix this?

Tonight I noticed the relay has been clicking away on the bike while it was unattended. Upon closer inspection the battery switch was in the on position, the ignition key was in the off position, the kill switch lanyard was in position, and the lights on the throttle housing were flashing erratically. Twisting the throttle resulted in the rear wheel turning, even though the ignition switch was off. The only way to switch the power off is to either put the switch on the battery in the off position or remove the the kill switch lanyard. Can anyone help me with this odd issue please? Thanks in advance, Tony
