OSET Electric Trials Bikes

  1. It didn't take long to realize that we needed handguards for the 16. Our four year old was riding just outside of the homerun fence at a baseball field, and all I could think about was his hand hitting one of the fence posts. I found the Moose "mini" aluminum guards for $35 shipped, that are made for 1 1/8" fatbars. As expected, they took a lot of persuading to get them to mount up: A fair bit of bending in a vise w/ a big adjustable wrench, I had to add some electrical tape to the bar-end inserts, cutting off about 3" from each guard and drilling a new hole for the bar-clamp mount, and adding a segment of old inner tube to the bar clamps so they will resist sliding fr…

Hi, As the title says really who's done it and what sort of issues did you come up against in the process ? Basically I have been in two minds to go down the petrol or electric route as a starter for my 8yr old, really not many decent petrol ones around (been searching for couple of months) unless you start spending £1k + and then you still dont know what sort of a life they have had ! Then of course after watching a few recent trials all the kids seem to be on these Oset bikes and looks like this is the way forward but after being brought up on petrol bikes I suppose that's why I wanted to smell the 2stroke bliss again but that coupled with the obvious noise differen…

Hi all, just though i'd say hello. I've been looking around for a bike for my youngest son (he will be 4 in May) and spotted these! I believe Martin Sandiford would be my nearest seller in Ramsbottom. I must pay him a visit. £700 is a lot of outlay for a 'i hope he gets the bike bug'. I love the idea that you can take them almost anywhere though. Many thanks... Pete

I need help. Live in New Zealand, ordered what I was told was a new OSET 12.5 for my 4 year old's birthday, well the bike arrived 2 days before weekend, I unpacked box and put batteries on charge, I could tell it'd been stored for some time. I headed off to work. Friday afternoon, set about fully assembling bike, all good except I couldn't get it to run!. The batteries charge when connected. The key clicks the relay, but no lights on twist throttle. Get a voltage tester out, strip down the bike - seats and covers etc. Can trace voltage into the Controller 24v, and up to twist throttle 24v ( 2 wire connecter), 4.5 v from 3 wire connecter. Anyway nothing makes it go, so …

  6. Hi new here looking for a bit of advice on a bike for the kids, one is four and one is six they are 41" and 44" tall and both ride pedal bikes, and both started on balance bikes. They currently ride islabikes pedal bikes the lad on the one that has a seat height the same as the 12.5 oset and the girl the bigger one with seat height same as the seat height as the 16 oset He Has his seat about an inch or so higher than stock and is confident standing and flying round and can get on his sisters bike balanced on one foot and would probably ride it given half a chance His sister rides the larger bike but not with as much confidence as him she was more confident on the smal…

Ok... so I made the mistake of "Just going to do one thing..." to Gavin's OSET.. The Mod bug can happen any time anywhere.. Here's how it started.. Then I added Bars and Grips.. Then it happened.. I just started to change the back wheel... More to come later today

Gavin has a 12.5 OSET. He loves riding it..but sometimes loses intrest in doing circles in the street.. It gets dark before he gets home from daycare, so I can't take him to the park. I have a 1000 watt light that lights up the front so he can ride.. To make it interesting, I have this little peice of wood that let him ride up and down the curb. I have also found that drawing a chalk "racecourse" on the street is fun.. So I was at HomeDepot today and I got this idea... $7.15 worth of lumber.. 2x4 cut in half.. Shave the ends.. 1x4 cut in 16" lengths.. A nail gun..and ta da!!! New ramp for the kids!! Works on curbs too :fact I'll post up how h…

Since its been raining we have been running low pressures in my boy's Oset 20 to try and get better grip. Problem is from time to time he manages to rip the valve out with the tyre spinning on the rim. Anyone have any solutions for running low pressures and stopping the tyre spinning? Would also be good to know if anyone can recommend a thicker inner tube to prevent pinch flats. Any ideas?

Hi, I'm Sergio from Spain. First, thanks for the knowledge and help provided by this forum. Second, sorry for my awful english , hopefully, you can't hear my spanish accent throug the computer... I've two daugthers, 8 and 6 years old, and this christmas, the "Olentzero", our own vasque country santa has carried us an Oset 16-36. This is it waiting for a full grease and adjusting service: It's a second hand one in VGC and miraculously found 20 kilometers from home and with not a crazy price tag. The girls loved it much from the first time, I'm a trail-enduro man and they know all the stuff messing around at home, helmets, gloves, mud and that. The only…

Our 4 year old has been riding his 12.5 since he was 3. This spring, for the first time, we noticed that he was looking a little big on the 12.5, at least when he stands up. Finally, a few weeks ago, my wife mentioned that she had turned the speed to full, and he was still looking like he wanted more. Owen was at the door when the UPS man knocked, and when he saw that big box, he was excited just to figure out what was inside. I gave him the packing slip and asked him to see if he could recognize any words... "Daddy, that says OSET, they make my motorcycle!" As soon as I pulled the front wheel out of the box, I realized how high quality the components are - I am real…

I put this here rather than in the trials gear section due to it aimed more towards oset sized children. I've took the plunge and ordered a 12.5 oset, will take delivery in a week and a half.. But now the hard part in sourcing the kit to protect him. I need to find a trials helmet small enough to fit on my 25 month old son's head. He is quite big for his age I would say, although I've yet to look at his bike helmet size I just want to know what helmets you guys use and the smallest fitting? My local dealer stocks wulf sport, and their smallest size is 54cm.. I think that may be a little too big, is there any smaller sizes such as xxs? As for armour, would you recome…

hi all. I am fairly confident that i was not the only Oset owner wondering how the Kuberg challenger 24" compared. All of the media outlets in the uk give different specs for the bike and no one seemed to know the difference between the challenger 24" and the 20" so even comparing wheel sizes was near impossible. Well i have gotten my hands on one and i want to give people the information that has been missing so they can make an informed choice. I have, in-fact, seen one of these bikes before. and it was tiny, i couldn't understand how they were marketing these bikes at adults at that size. The wheels were tiny 19" bike trials wheels, the bars were narrow, swing arm minu…
