Hello again (expect many more questions! hehe) Okay so today i setup some basic home obstacles, 2 foot rocks etc, (first day ive ridden trials), im clearing them easyily.. Ive been trying to work on my hopping, watched a few videos etc, Im just wondering, when you apply the rear brake do you put your whole weight on the rear brake? Because when im trying to do hops, i hold both breaks and when i pull back the wheel turns... so either my break pads are worn or im not holding break enough. To get the wheel to completely lock up i have to apply so much pressure that the break is maxed out, is this a sign of pad wear? or maybe cable needs adjusting? Thanks

I can balance fairly well with the front wheel turned to either side. However, I'm working on balancing with the front wheel straight. I noticed that pushing down on the handlebar while sticking a leg out helps regain balance. Is this the right technique ? pushing down on the handlebar ? Should I shift my weight to the side of the bike more instead of pushing down on the handlebar while raising a leg out to regain balance ? (my knees don't like this technique much though). What have you guys found work best ?

I started riding 3 1/2 years ago as an adult on a KLX300r on single track trails in Michigan. The seat is too tall for a beginner but I work with what I've got. The good side is it forced me into a parking lot for practice, which I enjoy. For the first couple years I carved a LOT of figure 8s and Uturns off road and on pavement. Lately I'm practicing almost exclusively motor police style slow riding. I'm hoping for some tips on using the dirt bike for trials style balance practice. Owning a trials bike isn't practical right now. I find slow riding on the seat is easier than standing on the pegs. Should balancing from the pegs be easier? On youtube I see the b…

Doesn't have to be a "big name" even if its just a club training session, I've been trialling for about 18months but don't get out often enough and practice just doens't happen really. any help appreciated. Any advice on controlling bike down steepish narrow slopes and banks? I seem to flap abit when atemping these and usually make a complete clown of myself and slide off, which brake to use and body position would be a help to start I guess, also bar and lever position( beta rev 3)would help too. CHEERS GUYS

Folks, Apologies if this has been dealt with before but I'm new to trials. My 10 year old son and 14yr old nephew are riding beta's in junior divisions at the moment. We've had a few instances of bikes getting stuck on full revs ( for a number of reasons, (dropping, caught cables etc.)On a few occasions the engine kill button doesn't work ( I presume because the engine is so hot at that stage. Can anybody tell me what is the best method of stopping the engine when this happens ? Some suggestions we've heard are "turn the bike upside down", "Rip the carb off asap" or "block the exhaust with your hand and choke the engine" Any help would be appreciated, Thanks
