Hi, At Addingham on Sunday I took a good look at the '05 GasGas bikes. I've just sold my Mont and in a few months will probably be buying a new bike, however, one thing that struck me not having looked in any detail at any of the "Pro" bikes these past few years is the exhaust. Certainly on the '05 bikes the front pipe seems VERY exposed. Is the '04 the same? I might consider a 2nd hand '04 instead. This is a show-stopper for me if you compare it to the Sherco there is just no comparison. PS. GasGas clutch seems heavy? Ian.

The one from the Pro fits very nicely (thanks Les!). It comes with an allen bolt and you can either drill a hole in the skidplate to access it, or switch to hex head. The hex bolt from the stock shifter is a different size and will not work.

I just bought a used 2000 Gas Gas 50 for my 8 yr old son. This is a much nicer trials bike than anything he has had before. I know very little abouth this bike, and none of the dealers that I have called seem to have an owners manual or much knowledge of this bike. I do know that the ignition has been upgraded and that the thermostat for the cooling system has been bypassed. I'd love to make contact with someone who is currently maintaining a TXT 50, and maybe ask a few questions about routine maintenance. I'm not sure how much nor what type of oil to use in the tranny. I've been told 5w30, 10w30, full Synthetic Dextron, Non-synthetic Dextron, MTL 75, and even a spec…

Still playing around with setting up my 03 250 Pro I'm curious to know what suspension settings people are useing.I about 11 stone/70kg with kit on have my rear shock set standard 140mm and been trying my front end at C 1 click R 2 click. After 10+ hrs of rideing I'm reckoning the springs have settled but still finding the bike hard work to move around hopping etc, maybe I just need to work on my s**t technique before I think about changeing oil and lighter spring.I've frequently watched lighter riders than me like teenagers bounceing around with ease on similar bikes,I know technique plays a big part in moveing the bike but am interested in anybodies input all the same.

Can anyone tell me the correct oil level for an 04 pro 300? The book says 500cc but the oil reaches the middle of the sight glass way before that. I would guess somewhere around the 300cc mark.

Hi there, I have a friend who is looking at purchasing an '04 280 Pro from his mate. Apparently, its 6 months old and is in mint condition. It comes with the lighting kit (not on the bike), and I *think* its road registered and taxed, but I'm not 100% on this one. So my question is, what sort of price is reasonable? I've never had any dealings with Gassers myself so I don't really know what the going rate is for a machine such as this. Any advice / opinions would be gratefully received. Cheers KB.

Just recently changed the pistons on my rear brakes. I am having a lot of trouble getting the brake fluid back into the brake line. I have tried injecting the fluid into the reservoir, but it just flows back out. Has anyone any tips or can anybody tell me the sequence of moves I have to take, to get this bleedin' fluid back into the bleedin' brakes"!!!!!

I have a 1996 Gas Gas 270cc and lately after evey ride the plug is fouling quite badly, a dry carbon sooty type of fouling and I dont know why. I am running a pre-mix of 80:1 and the fuel/air screw on the carb is 3 full turns out. Any one any ideas? I have attached a pic of what it looks like.

I got my new gasser 04 300 in time for the weekends TC trial. It wa great and I love it already but I have a couple of questions. The bike is very difficult to start when warm or hot and not easy when cold. It seems to need priming and then a huge kick to get it started. It actually feels like it's not producing a spark unless the kicking revs are up fairly high. I'm sure I will get better at it but don't think I will ever be able to restart it in a section for instance. Has anyone else found this and sorted it? It ran fine all day on Sunday but ran with the fan on a lot and boiled over slightly at the end of the first lap. It this normal or what should I be looking for…
