Hi all, Hope that you can help! I am currently in the process of restoring my Dad's old Bultaco Pursang Mk5 125cc and have stumbled across wiring problems. The project is for his 60th birthday and was left to rust in his shed for over 40 years! I'll add some pics below to show progress. The engine has been rebuilt recently and I was told that I was lucky to have a functioning Coil and Stator as he told me that the engine was sparking when it left his shop. As the frame has been powder coated, i made sure that the engine is grounding to the bike by removing the powder coat at the bolts. the problem i have got is 4 wires... yes 4 wires. I …

Hi folks. Any help would be appreciated please. I have recently acquired a model 10 engine that seems to have the wrong clutch or counterweight, this is causing a problem because the sprockets don't line up for the primary chain. I think that the problem is with the counterweight, as i think the clutch is correct. It is located on its shaft with a woodruff key, but not 100% sure. If any model 10 experts could chip in it would be appreciated.

Hi All - A friend fabricated a wrench to help disassemble my OEM m80 Betors for rebuilding and is having a heck of a time removing the threaded body cap to access the internal seal, shaft assembly and components. I can't imagine Betor would choose a left-handed thread for this, would they? I didn't see any evidence the caps are peened or spot welded in any way. Any ideas? Christian

I bought a book at the Flea Market held every Sunday all Summer it was a 1st edition Don Smith's "Ride It" ($1 CAN) and mentioned to seller that I had two old Bultaco's. He replied by saying that he had a few Bultacos in the past and might have some more "stuff". I told him I would be very interested in buying it. I have bought a lot from this seller over the last few months. His father was a Snap on and Hazet Dealer and he has some cool stickers, badges, and dealer stuff. This past weekend he presents me with a pastic bag and the contents included an old jersey a bit too small for me, Tie clip, and what I think might be a lapel buttton or cuff link. I think I over pa…

I have a late 60's early 70's front wheel, with the hub that is the diameter of the brake drum, both sides. I need a brake plate for this and wondered if this hub needs the plate with the cable guide and the rear facing brake arm, or can later plates be used in this hub? Cheers.

Hello all, I ordered a Mikuni 28mm flat slide carby for use on a Sherpa T 250. Anyone have any comments/observations on how well this will work on a Sherpa? Any tips for proper adjustment? Will I be able to use the existing throttle cable with it? I'm saving the original Amal 627 for authenticity, but I have not been able to resolve an off-idle problem with it, and decided to just replace with something more modern. I like to stay original, but I also want to ride! Thanks.

I have owned my m49 for over 8 years and have always liked the way it looks and rides... When I could get it going! It has generally been a right pain. I put this down to the fact it was getting on a bit and one day I would give it a good going over. Well this week that day arrived. A heap of seals, bearings and gaskets beside me, I stripped the engine. I didn't think that there was much wrong with the bottom end apart from an annoying oil leak from between the crankcase's. After replacing all seals and bearings, it was rebuilt. It had a rebore a while back, but hasn't been used much, so I used the same piston, barrel etc. The amal was put in the cupboard and a 24mm oko w…
