Hi there guys, have just come back from my first outing on the new bike, all went well! Decided when i got home to drop the factory oil, removed the drain plug as per manual and got about 100mls out i guess, someone told me to just lay it over a touch to get the rest! HA;HA! Well i laid it right over on its side in the end, nothing until i stood it back upright then another 100 mls,so in total measured into a jug i managed to get 200mls (and it was over the sight glass from dealer). Not sure where they get 350mls from or where the rest is? I have put 250mls back and its way over the sight glass. So whats the trick to drain these suckers properly?? Peter.

Hi there guys, well i finally have my new 2012 TR280i in the garage,if it ever stops raining i will be able to take it for a ride.Anyway getting to the chase,i went to remove the rear wheel for a wee look and check the axle for lube, drooped the chain, removed the axle and proceeded to slide the rear wheel back and what do you know, the heads of the rear disc bolts catch the inside of the calliper assembley, am i missing something here,i have had many bikes over the last 30 years but have not had this before, surely you dont have to remove some disc bolts first? Peter.

I have a 72 OSSA MAR. It has run but right now it doesn't want to start at all. I have gas and spark so I plan to take it to a friend that has a power starter to get it going. Unfortunatley, my clutch is sticking at the same time. I have asked on this board about both of these issues but since they are occurring together, it seems like a whole different situation is happening. My question is, how can I start my OSSA on a power starter if the clutch is sticking or is there a way to get the clutch freed without the motor running. If the bike is in neutral, the clutch is not keeping the motor from freely going round when I crank the kickstart lever so is the clutch act…

Hi there all,new at this forum buisness so go easy on me,i thought i was close to buying a new OSSA TR280 (2012),but managed to get a ride on a 2012 model at a test ride day last week,i was very disappointed in the clutch drag the bike had and neutral was totally (unselectable)with the motor going ,i realize this has been a sore point on some or most of the bikes, just wondered what all you owners have done (oil type and adjustment wise) to overcome this problem? I have sent of emails to quiet a few dealers in a few countries and this is not an isolated problem, some have found the AJP master cylinders bypassing from new and need a repair kit installing and say you need to …

I am in the UK and have just acquired an Ossa SDR from the US. It is 95% complete but has no lights and no wiring harness. Can anyone help me with a wiring diagram - the one that is freely available on the net is nothing like my enduro bike. Did the SDR have a battery. There are 5 wires coming out of the magneto - 2 yellow ones, a red one , a blue one and a black one. They all go to a junction box. The blue and the black ones then go to the motoplat coil. Within the headstock gusset is a motoplat regulator. It is not connected to anything. It has 5 terminals; one is marked [in Spanish] gree; 2 close together are marked red and a further 2 close together are marked yello…

Trying to clean up some of my cables on my 72 OSSA MAR. Had the clutch cable off and now the lever even with lots of movement on the clutch activating lever on the case will not disengage the clutch. It is like something is not correct with the clutch actuating rod. I believe there is a ball in there but not sure where it is or if it could have fallen out. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Im looking into a new bike ad I was going for a montesa. I orignally looked at ossa's but heard alot of negativity about the 2011 bikes, which over shadows the good points really. ive read a few bits of topics but theres no real topic on 2012 bikes yet. is the 2012 a much better bike with all the previous problems being solved? or are there still issues that need addressing?

I have a 72 OSSA MAR. I just got it and it ran pretty good. I knew I was going to slosh the gas tank but thought I could run it a bit before the slosh came in the mail, etc. In short, I ran it one weekend and the throttle was sticking pretty bad so I knew it was time. I sloshed the tank with Caswell epoxy coating and while the slosh was setting up (total bike sat was two weeks) I cleaned the carb which had lots of fiberglass goo but is now spotless. Also the plug had a thin fiberglass film baked on. Now new plug, clean carb and it won't even cough. Before it at least tried to start first kick. Do you think that goo is causing some problem with the rings or what. …
